This song is deep. I feel alot of people can relate to it.

I had the opportunity to see this band in Bratislava this year, actually, a couple of weeks ago. And they didn´t only touch my heart, but they did touch my whole soul. I can´t imagine what they are going through, but from the speech Dan had, I see that it´s not always that smooth as one can think. I fell in love with Dan as he mentioned the therapy, because I myself had and sometimes still have troubles just living my life. My biggest wish is for the whole band to be happy and smilling and loved. I love you all guys, literally. You make my days more manageable.

It's a strange love. She tries to follow him into the water but the waves are too high and the winds are too rough. Try as they might, they just can't bridge that gap. She was meant for land and he was meant for the sea. It's sad, but they understand that they can't be together. Too much is different between them. The best she can do is give him back the promise they made.

Basically, the storm rocking the ship represents the tension and struggle of the singer trying to keep up an act to keep his partner happy, but his strength to do so was slowly chipping away until it was revealed. The animation shows his constant struggle to maintain the lie even after it is known while accepting that she can leave now that she knows the truth of who he is, but the end scene from my understanding represents his partner accepting his flaws and her willingness to keep working on their relationship regardless. Despite him pushing her away for her to be happy, her getting in a new boat after the ship sinks and jumping back in the water near the end shows his partner's determination to keep going back to him, the sea monster representing his inner demons that he was trying to keep hidden away. That's just my interpretation at least

I dont know but this songs seems to be about depression?? People who are hiding their problems from everyone and just saying that theyre fine when deep inside theyve been hurting so much and not okay. And instead of dealing with it, they succumb to that demon to just take their life away cuz they think no ones gonma understand them?? This is a very good song. ID forever ❤️

I have sympathy for those people that take their lives but I always think that they were coward ones. They always think that they were the only person experiencing things but some people may have worse situation than them. They lack of faith and much more on overthinking.
