My dad also walked away a couple weeks before I turned 15, now 15 years later, I still have a hard time coping. I try to convince myself he’s dead. After running into each other 4 years ago, he looked me in the eyes, turned away like he never new me. After that I told myself Id never cry to him again. But its impossible. I missed out on so much not having a dad. My life could’ve been so different 😢

I almost cried.. What a beautiful song

I was in the service at the time when this song came out. I remember I was on my first deployment. The service was the worst and darkest time of my life. I will never forget how hard this song hit me when I first heard it. Here we are, September 2023, and I still breakdown and cry like a little boy whenever I hear it. I dont look down or belittle todays' time but im just sad our younger brothers and sisters wont get to experience our magic i.e our struggles and our understanding of one another

When this song first came out, I was only 13/14 and had no idea how exactly these families would be feeling. I was just a reckless teen and I just loved the tune , the piano part and I interpreted this song my own way. Now I am 32. And watching this video makes me emotional. I sincerely hope that all these families have managed to get through the separation and those hard times and now their loved ones are present at all times. Distance sucks.

I was homeless for the longest time while i lived in my miled out van worked the hardest labours one could think of to survive and pay off my debts, i pushed through hard enough with 3 jobs i became 28 looking like 50 and now i have cars and a house but i am not happy, lost most my friends and even my wife because i worked too much. i miss my old life where it was so much simpler and met people that was in the same storm . I cry thinking about that.

The most underrated musician ever. I haven't listened to this song in like a decade. My dad bought me this album for my 14th or 15th birthday, he has been gone for almost 6 years now. I dont even remember telling him about Fort Minor but he knew I loved Linkin Park so I think he somehow connected the dots and got it for me. Mike raps, he sings, plays guitar, plays piano, produces, and probably does more than I know. He's a genius. Thanks for everything Mike.

Wow you copy and pasted the lyrics from the webz. Good maybe the idi0t saying this song reminds them of their deceased relative will stop basing it off the chorus but rather the actual rap by Shinoda which was written from the perspective of the person left behind in long-distance relationships. It's a message about the consequences of putting career ahead of family. Not death, nor the loss of someone going away to war, moving etc..
