Noodle Journey Episode 111: Momofuku Spicy Chili Noodles
Noodle Journey is an episodic review series in which we learn all about instant noodle brands and products and then do a deep dive into the noodle quality, spice level, and overall flavor. All reviews are as thorough as possible. The noodles are cooked according to the manufacturer's instructions using only the contents of the product package unless otherwise indicated. This ensures that the review is as unbiased as possible and evaluates whether or not a product is worth a purchase either as a standalone meal or as a base that you could spruce up.
This is the second of Momofuku's two new flavors as of August 2023. Based on the ingredients, this seems pretty redundant with the Tingly Chili Wavy Noodles, so you might be wondering if this is different in any appreciable way. Thank you for the review. Not sure but maybe the picture on the packaging with the dry scallions was just a suggestion.(i saw nothing promising dried scallions).

It's not a suggestion nor is it a picture. Dried scallions are listed as the second-to-last ingredient on the side of the package. Momofuku's product site also still currently lists it as an ingredient: shop.momofuku.com/products/spicy-chili-noodles-5-packs
Ive seen these noodles in my local target but havent tried them yet. They are $11.99 for four. I will give them a try.

Nice! Glad to see these are starting to pop up in stores.
I bought a pack of these noodles. They're delicious but super spicy (literally burning hot). Any tips on ingredients or toppings I could add to offset the spice?

That's a good question! With something like this, I would recommend maybe using a soft-boiled, over-easy, or poached egg so that yolk helps to calm it down a little. A little mayonnaise might also help.
