David Chang Makes “Buldak” Noodles

Dave Chang is back in the kitchen cooking his interpretation of Korean Buldak, with our Momofuku Sweet & Spicy Noodles as the base for this quick weeknight recipe. This dish is loosely inspired by Korean Buldak, which literally translates to spicy or fire chicken. Dave shows that you can make a quick and quality meal in minutes, using our versatile pantry products. He brought this recipe to life with Momofuku Sweet & Spicy Noodles, Momofuku Toasted Sesame Oil, Momofuku Soy Sauce, and Momofuku Chili Crunch.
As always, there's no plan, no preparation, but this is the essence of weeknight home cooking. Dave's not trying to hit the bulls-eye, just the target.

    @@warhem I used to plastic wrap over the bowl to cook in the microwave. The anyday lids give a tight fit with space for steam to escape, then press the center to stop steam from escaping to keep food nice and hot. They cook faster than all the other microwave bowls I've tried. The flavor is more retained. I can cook/mix/serve/store/reheat in the same bowl right out of the fridge. The flavor difference is the biggest thing for us. Best bet if you are a bacon eater too ❤🥓 I'm really glad I got them. Not affiliated btw.

    There is really no point in making the chicken in the microwave bowl. There is no time saved, more dishes, and less flavour. I don't believe a chef, or any skilled cook, would do this at home in stead of using a wok.

    no one can convince, even david chang, that 6 minutes of microwaving chicken is faster than 6 minutes of cooking chicken on the stove. No trick/tip here saved time or effort, to be frank. Weirdest commercial I've ever seen

  • @Great_PatBingsoo

    @Great_PatBingsoo

    Yeah, but it’s less effort, and I feel like you completely glossed over his thought process, as the flavor will still be there through the sauce.

    @@Great_PatBingsoo dont buy it. The flavor would be more if cooked in the pan. No effort was saved by anything he did, everything still ended up in the skillet. This was just a commercial.

    David was presenting so I don't think this easily translated, but I believe the implication was he would be preparing and blending the sauce and heating the skillet while the chicken cooked in the microwave. May seem like nothing, and that's great if that's the case for you, but to many people that saved 5-6 minutes after a full day's work and cooking for a family can be very beneficial. And this is coming from someone who will never cook a protein in the microwave. I still see how someone could find the benefit.
