I usually don't comment on these videos, but I had to do it this time. I can't explain it, but I have a soft spot in my heart for Home Free reactions. Seeing the joy and the pure midblowingness hit the faces and bodies of reactors such as yourself bring me such happiness. And you, my friend Mortius, are in rarefied air, as in this video, you literally brought me to (happy) tears as I watched your reaction to this video! It's why you are one of only a few who are must-clicks when I see a thumbnail that includes Home Free.

I would be absolutely stunned if this has not been recommended to you before! Usually if a reactor asks for a Rob lead suggestion this is the first one recommended (although I think my personal favorite Rob lead is Catch Me If You Can, a Tim original). Fun reaction Mortius! Catch Me If You Can is my favourite Rob lead (closely followed by Blue Ain't Your Color) but it wasn't written by Tim - at least, not according to the credits on my CD. It was written by Keelan Donovan (and others). Keelan co-wrote Snow Globe with Tim.

I agree with you on Catch Me If You Can…I love the song and Rob exudes so much confidence. Rob does a fabulous job in End of the Road, but I was never that big of a fan of the song.

Rob is simply amazing in this one.

Everybody is brilliant in this performance. I just feel sorry for Chance. He's holding down the fort in the back, but hardly anybody mentions his inconspicuous (but vital) contribution. I wonder if Mortius is going to call attention to every member in this song, or if he's just going to be speechless? 😂

I’m pretty sure I recommended this one- it’s one of my favorite recommendations to reactors. Rob really digs deep- I wish he could cut loose more often. You will probably enjoy watching Rob doing the lead in the Christmas carol “Joy To the World “ Home Free at the Hosanna concert 2013- this is all in the title. It’s a jazzy, funky arrangement and Rob just KILLS it. There’s also a beatbox breakdown that is fantastic.

Great reaction! These guys do an amazing job of this song! They can do any genre including R&B. Rob's voice has so much feeling & soul in it. Austin adding his higher tones, Chance is holding down the bass in the back, Tim adding some deeper bass notes & Adam with his fabulous vocal percussion. These guys are my favorite a cappella group out there. Shawn Stockman from Boyz II Men was one of the judges on the "Sing Off" that Home Free won & he was a big fan of these guys from the start. I'm sure he loved their version of this song.

From what I have read, Home Free called and talked to Shawn Stockman and got his “permission” to cover this before they did it.

This is precisely the song that when I first heard it, instantly made Rob my favourite Home Free member. The way that he can both have this soulful voice, as well as his regular angelic one really shows how much of an amazing singer he really is!

and this is why there are some Home Fries that think Rob is the secret weapon of the group. (Me included) The versatility, feeling and all around warmth in his voice just gets me every time! "Catch Me If you Can" (another fantastic Rob lead song) is one of my all time favorites!

Rob is such a versatile vocalist and Home Free (IMHO) is THE best acapella band. I don't know why but this cover just tends to fly under the radar for me too. I know it and love it but I never put HF on just to listen to it, yet whenever it comes on it feels like I've forgotten how good it is. What a showcase for Rob especially too! As an aside, I just want to say that you're an inspiration for me as a content creator on KZread. I've thought about making stuff myself for a while and my partner is planning on starting to record and release music so I thought it would be a great excuse to start making my own stuff to help advertise for her. You inject so much personality and fun into your work that make you so fun to watch (plus my partner is neurodivergent too so some of your quirks remind me of her and you speaking about it so openly helps me learn things that might help me support her). I never liked colder weather until this newer version. I love when we get Adam Rupp’s sweet vocals and beatboxing in this song. He’s my favorite tenor in Home Free.

Home Free has an amazing ability to sound like a twenty-person choir sometimes. The Adams are really the glue that holds this song together. Rob injects his own soul and heart into the finished product and it is absofuckinglutely beautiful

I love Boyz II Men and have played End of the Road so many times. I never thought I'd ever like a cover of this song. But Home Free did it, while maintaining the respect for the original. How wonderfully sung by all! But for me it is mainly Rob Lundquist who nailed it. What a great voice with so much soul in it. He touches me deep inside. Of course it is the combination of the other leads , fantastic harmony, incredible bassline and the inhuman vocal percussion (Adam Rupp) that makes it complete.

Rob really cut loose with this one. He hasn't stopped since. He just keeps getting better and better. I didn't know that was possible, since he's so good to begin with.

When Home Free does a cover, they pay homage to the original, but always make it their own. Rob spent the weekend with some friends at a Black family reunion and dinner outside under the trees. A whole bunch of soul rubbed off on him while eating the 'tater salad and jello mold while Grandma teased at the little children and the teens danced and sang on the porch. That's the only way you get that kind of soul going. 🧡

I always forget that this song exists until it pops up randomly on my feed somewhere, and then I realize how much I love the song. Only to forget about it again afterwards. I don't know what it is about this song, it's good, I love it, but it doesn't stick in my mind all that much. I really should make an effort to listen to it more, because I'm blown away by it every time I do hear it. Time to plop it in a playlist before I once more forget it exists.

Home Free has set themselves apart from the other groups. They just never miss.

The funny thing is that most groups consider this a really hard song. With Home Free, they just have to assign the right accent solos to Rob and Austin and let them loose. "Don't hold back, just go do it guys." Their coverage of the main body of the chords and rhythm section is almost second nature to them - so solid, thick and clean.

This is probably the next most recommended video after "Man of Constant Sorrow". These are essentially Home Free 101 and I was surprised when I saw you were reacting to this currently.
