Love your reactions. "Helplessly Hoping " is a great choice, very haunting, It showcases Chance a bit, which is nice. Only problem with the song is that it is too damn short.

You’re early into your journey with Home Free. They can all bring it. Blue Ain’t Your Color is another good one by Rob. When they won the NBC show the Sing Off Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men was a judge and he loved them. I think they wanted to do right by him. They are known for amazing harmonies. Yes, do listen to Helplessly Hoping, One Man Band, In the Blood, Folsom Prison Blues. They’re so good.

They've done it again. Put their magical Home Free subtle twist on a song, made it their own and given it an upgrade. They take mediocre songs and make them great. They take great songs and make them magnificent. Rob sang the crispy crackers out of this song, Austin killed it, Chance and Tim anchored it beautifully and Adam's vocal percussion/beat boxing was stellar as usual. Love Home Free more and more all the time. When you've had a bigger sampling of Home Free you will see that they all get a chance to shine.

Blue-eyed soul is in good hands with The Beard.... Rob really cut loose with this one. He was always good, but he really let it all out in this song and never looked back. He just got so much better after this, and I didn't think that was possible.

  • @JoanN63

Rob, also known as Gospel Rob, nailed it with his soulful voice. Then in combination with the high tenor voice of Austin and the deep bass of Tim it sounds beautiful. Add in Chance's great background vocals and Adam's incredible beatboxing/percussion and it's just perfect. All such wonderfully different voices, but still one. I think that's why the harmony sounds so great. For me, Home Free is the number one A-Capella group. Their appearance, the personalities, the respect for each other and the fun they have in front of and behind the scenes makes Home Free complete. I'm a real Home Fry from the Netherlands!😊

This is one of their top signature songs that they are known for. They did justice to the original song. Thank you for your great reaction to this. HELPLESSLY HOPING & LOVE TRAIN are both great songs. Helplessly Hoping is pure 5 part harmony (no beating boxing) superbly done. Love Train is a load of fun. Another great song that showcases Rob’s talent is John Denver’s iconic TAKE ME HOME COUNTRY ROADS. It my understanding that the arrangement took 5 years to complete before they felt it was worthy enough to record. It is another of their signature songs, the cover is magnificent. Thank you again and you gentlemen have a blessed day.

Love this so very much, one of my favorites by Home Free, and those next two, Helplessly Hoping & Love Train both are winners !!! Helplessly Hoping showcases the harmonies without beatboxing & is "art"...just amazing...& Love Train is fun & uplifting & you get to see fan videos of Home Fries ...it's just too much fun !

These guys do an amazing job of this song! They can do any genre including R&B. Rob's voice has so much feeling & soul in it. Austin adding his higher tones, Chance harmonizing in the back, Tim adding some bass & Adam with his fabulous vocal percussion. These guys are my favorite a cappella group out there. All their songs are good whether it is serious, heart warming or funny.

Another awesome serving of Home Free. They guys are huge fans of Boyz so this tribute was really from the heart. They wanted to keep it as close to the original as possible and still have their own "twist" on it. The harmonies are absolutely ridiculous, having the 2 differently toned tenors and 2 bass's gives them such massive opportunities to cover just about anything they want. Rob's riff in this are outstanding and take a lot of folks by surprise, but really his vocal agility is world class. Thanks for putting out more solid content guys, always a pleasure to stop in when I'm able !! Cheers Daniel

As far as I'm concerned all of the Home Free guys "emote" through their music/videos better than just about anyone else out there--and in this one Rob showcases his gospel/R&B genius in a way that seems to surprise everyone ❣️❣️❣️

It is overtime for you to react to their cover of Mayday which I normally tell people to wait on. If one watches Mayday too soon or too late it looses some of it's power, now is the time. You may wish to watch Cam's original first.

Tim Foust (bass) is from southeast Texas; Adam Chance (bass/baritone) is originally from Alabama; Austin Brown (high tenor) is from Georgia; Adam Rupp (beatboxer) & Rob Lundquist (lead tenor) are both from Minnesota. Austin spent years in college (on a music scholarship) trying to nullify his accent - when he joined Home Free they told him to stop trying. Since you seem to prefer their more serious music, you should try listening to "Go Rest High on That Mountain", "O Holy Night" and "When A Man Loves A Woman" among others.

There are 3 members of the band from the South...TIM is from Southeast Texas and very proud of it, AUSTIN hails from GEORGIA, Adam Chance is from Alabama; then the other 2, Robb and Adam Rupp are from Minnesota. Together, in my opinion they form the very best accapelo band ever! (I suppose that I am a little prejudiced). I have been following them since they were own "THE SING OFF",

I love this cover, and great reaction ! But I'm not totally sure this is 100% acapella - during many parts I seem to hear what seems to be an electronic keyboard kind of sound, high notes pinging along behind the voices. Is that an 'audio illusion', or am I nuts ?

Oh, I hear it! I trust the guys enough that I'm sure it's still a capella (like the guitar-like sounds behind Sold--or, even better, Can't Stop the Feeling, where the music video during the breakdown definitely shows Chance doing that part), but I don't know who's singing it here. My guess is Chance or Adam, or maybe Austin because of the range. (They do definitely layer their studio tracks!)
