This is honestly just a classic case of misogyny. The mother wanting to marry her own son in her next life is literally proving Freud's theory of the Oedipus Complex. In this case, it's commonly found with boy moms, who would never hold their son accountable and would never make their son even lift a finger, but the daughter does all the chores at home or else they get nag. But this mother in particular not only has the Oedipus Complex and the usual boy mom mindset, she also has a superiority complex because her son is handsome, so she thinks she's better than everyone because she gave birth to him and he's the textbook definition of a perfect man. If she loves her son that much to the point that there's no space for her to love her own daughter, then she shouldn't have a daughter in the first place. This will cause her daughter to resent her brother, who did nothing wrong. He seems like a cool and nice brother, and I understand why he doesn't tell his sister that she's pretty despite her being complimented by his friends (almost all brother-sister relationships are that way). But the mother probably is a self-conscious person already, and the fact that her daughter resembles her and the daughter barely receives any compliments from strangers make her believe that she herself is ugly, which is why she furthers project her insecurities to her daughter.

The dad is the best 💓 he knew what was going on from a third perspective & told her that he’ll always be on her side, & for her to confide in him anytime. Exactly the comfort & assurance this girl needs

gamerゆき I don’t really believe that. He seems more aloof than stuck up. He’s just like the dad. He ignores the problem instead of talking about it. But we do find out that he does help his sister when she doesn’t understand something academically, so I guess that counts for something. Sadly though, we don’t have enough information to conclude that he feels like a king after his sister says something kind about him, because in my opinion, she’s simply quoting what people say about him or using it to her advantage in a way? Hm i don’t know if that makes sense but what I’m saying is that we need more information about the brother and sister before coming up with the conclusion that he’s doing it against his sister. The only conclusion I came up with is that the son and the father are very much alike and that the mother and daughter are also very much alike. But maybe all of them are guilty of something.

We have to speak in an unbiased manner when it comes to these things, because it is not okay for the daughter to talk back to her mother like that. Even though the mom is very selfish and rude, she did raise her, and she deserves some respect. When the mother asked the daughter to stop dancing the daughter simply danced in her face. Does that sound like respect? No. But is the mother in the wrong? Yes. They shouldn’t have come on a TV show to solve this problem because it is far to big to talk to this to some random ass people, who take sides instead of seeming unbiased. We need a real expert to resolve this problem, because everyone is in the wrong in some way, even the daughter.

And he should avoid misunderstanding aka the mother stupid jokes about his sister, so the relationship between the mother daughter be stable. Well, he did notice that the mother care him more, but what he did? Nothing and ignore it. However it true, we leak of information. But based on the short view, we could see the Subin only want attention from her family and hate to be compared with her brother. The daughter is NOT ugly. Seriously, she is not. I've seen Korean women that are more beautiful than her, but at the end of the day it all comes down to personality. So if she has a nice personality, she is kind, refined, cultured, intelligent, I and most sane men would gladly date her. She doesn't deserve to be treated like that. As for her oppa, yes he is handsome but he's not super handsome either.

Yeah, and sometimes it doesn't matter if someone is beautiful or not, the personality it's the most important thing. My mother always tells me about that it doesn't matter if someone it's beautiful, because if that person has a terrible personality you will start to see that person ugly.

After watching this episode I feel even more blessed to have parents who understand me and always support me. They never compare me to anyone, not even my siblings and I'm so grateful for that.

After she said: “In my next life i want to date my son”, I began to feel sorry for the future daughter-in-law. Mom will obviously be jealous of her son for his wife...

I think the brother and sister have a good relationship, it's the mother that instigates everything. I hope she knows that the things she does and says to her daughter can mess with her head.

You can see the difference so clearly. When you give a plant water it grows confidently and proud. (Hence why the older son is good at many thing and is confident) but when you ignore the plant and just leave it in the sun, it grows dry and no matter what true to grow the best way it can. Reason why the younger daughter is so timid and is self conscious. They are both flowers that will blossom into different flowers. It just depends on the amount of water you give and amount of freedom it has.

Actually, he wasnt talented just because he was more cared for. He was just born more active and has a higher IQ. I do agree that she would have been a little bit better if she was just as cared for. But, your philosophy doesn't apply on majority of children. Some kids, even if they lacked love, it made them kore determinded to study and practice and succeed, and those who were very loved were not as talented because they became lazy. Its not mostly the care but the OPPORTUNITY. I think it should be a BALANCE, if you give just enough care and ignorance it gives equal opportunity to both children. They will still be different, but at least they received the same opportunity to prove themselves. The son would still probably be more talented, but that does not matter. Point is, love does not completely affect talent and skills, its within the child, but the opportunity is from the parents if they give it fairly enough, but most power will come from the willpower of the children.

when at grades my parents specially my dad at that time im 30% away from failing one subject they never compared me to my siblings theyy said "just do better in the next exam you can do it" so tho we have hard times as a family im still very thankful having them💖

things a mother should remember: 1.never compare one child to another,its hurts their feelings espiecially if one child is older then the older 2.never say that your first child is more beautiful then the other

The mother takes it as a ''joke'' ''not big of a deal'' but she doesn't understand the emotional and mental abuse this is causing. I had a similar situation growing up and day by day I just become more insecure and feel really unloved easily. I hope she realises that change is needed and her daughter shouldn't ever feel neglected because it can cause issues for her.

Exactly Even now my mom does say some stuff to me and treats me differently from my older sister and younger brother. My sister knows how it’s emotionally affected me and made me feel neglected but I hope for my mom and all parents to understand that they can’t “joke” around with their kids like that if it clearly looks like their kid is being affected by it.

I literally cried. My mother will always take my younger sis side coz when she was born ,a monk told her she will cry a lot. So i have known discrimination since i was child n i have cried a lot. Now it doesn't matter as i can support myself financially.

When I see these kinds of mothers exist I am so grateful to have a loving mother. No matter how much she scolds me she still loves me and always is there for me.

Okay, when she said she'd want to marry her son, that...kinda crossed the line. Major Donald Trump and his daughter vibes. People in the comments are saying the son is bad for not defending his sister but the kid has been raised in a particular situation. I think he's a decent kid but the father needs to step up and try to gain some more ground in the house so he can counteract the mother's favoritism.

Maybe the mom blames her for something stupid in her past. I knew a lady that was bat-shhh crazy and blamed her daughter for everything but spoiled the eldest. Everyone complimented how handsome and smart her son was. But the daughter born after him wasn't as brilliant or as good looking (she looks like the dad) so she didn't get complimented at all, I suspect because the mom drank when she was pregnant but she doesn't admit that or put in effort raising her, she just criticises her daughter. But I have good news, the daughter is going to be successful because she's tough as nails due to her upbringing and is extremely personable despite her mom being a b^¢¥π.

AyAReI00 it's more than just narcissist, her favouritism destroys her daughter even from the very beginning. Notice how she said that the "first child first time" phenomenon had got her not as excited towards her second child as she was of her first child? "it had happened before, it's not new," she says. That in itself is already a sign of child neglect. That is probably what makes the daughter being the way she is, she just wants to be caterred the way her brother constantly is. It's not Subin's fault she took everything the mother said at face value, because that's basically the way she talks to Subin😕 at the very least, throughout this whole segment 😤

Mama's boys often struggle with being independent as adults. Its makes their romantic relashionships fragile because their significant other has to care for them like a mother and they are used to being spoiled, so it takes a lot to satisfy them. In worst cases, they also develop big egos because they have ben raised thinking they can do no wrong. Spoilling your child can be very harmfull on the long run! Favoritism will surely have an impact on this girl's self-esteem for the rest of her life, but when she will start living on her own she will manage to acheive independance and her confidence can only grow. So basically this mother is unwilling giving her daughter a head start at life and holding her beloved son back!

I'm a straight A student who recently applied to some of the top universities in my country. My twin brother is going to a community college. My parents don't treat us any different- and aren't the least bit upset about his grades being worse. They know we have different life goals and that different paths will make us happy. Seeing this mother compare her kids like that is just awful to me. That kind of thing would really wear you down. If my mom talked to my brother that way, I would've picked a fight for sure. I feel like the brother and dad should have stood up for the sister more. maybe it's because I'm a twin but I just don't get it when there's no sibling solidarity.
