My brother died about 6 months ago in a sprint car racing accident. He was blowing up the tires before his race and one exploded and crushed the whole left side of his head. This was his favorite song on the entire planet. And it will forever be the song that reminds me of him

I'm Denver born and raised, and the Dirt Band was quite highly thought of around here back in the day. One of the very first concerts I ever saw was when they played the field house of the local college. Fun show. Perhaps my biggest memory of that night was how often everyone in the band would just switch instruments and they'd all play something else every few songs. LOTS of talent there.

When I was a very young girl, 8,9, 10... my aunt Billy and Cousin Dawn, used to run the Fan Club for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and a few summers I got to travel with my Aunt and Cousin following the band around selling shirts, tapes, posters etc... it was a lot of fun. These guys treated me very well and gave me back stage passes to every concert. Back when Lenny Martinez was the manager. Good times and memories I will never forget.

Those loud, staccato, guitar licks, and the harmonica coming in right behind them are uncommonly good. Not to mention the great vocal harmony. This has become a strong, but pleasant ear worm, lately.

You gotta respect a band that can keep great timing and harmony!! Bernie Leadon, from The Eagles fame, will always be one of my favorite guitarist!!

Taken from the album "Hold On" (1987), this was the last Nitty Gritty Dirt Band album to feature founding member John McEuen before leaving for a solo career until returning to the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in 2002. The album produced 3 chart-topping singles: "Baby's Got a Hold on Me", "Fishin' in the Dark", and "Oh What a Love".👍

Damn they were good! Jimmy's voice is amazing.

When I was a kid this was my dad's favourite song. To this day, it is still one of the few country songs I enjoy.

This is a iconic hit, everyone knows it. Classic drinking song!

Well it's 4/25/2024 today. Hope you've been doing good. Listen to this song daily to get a burst of Feel Good energy. It's what I do now that I've heard it.

My dad always listens to country, and when I was younger this was always my favorite country song, I would get so excited hearing it come on the radio.

I love how he is still able to sing this song almost exactly as the album version was!!
