Nineteen minutes of one liners from Gary Delaney at the Comedy Store in 2015. (subtitled)
Tour: Gary Delaney.com Twitter@GaryDelaney Facebook/Tik-tok/Instagram @GaryDelaneyComedian Background: When you play the London Comedy Store they always record your set from their fixed camera, and you can get a DVD of it for your own records if you want. I found this in my office. It's a set from about 2014/2015 judging by the material I was doing. There's stuff from my first tour, which I'd just finished but hadn't yet flogged to death on TV spots, and from my second tour that I was still writing at that time. The audio is only recorded via the act's mike (i.e there's no audience microphone) so the laughter you hear is basically the same as you hear while standing on stage. It's a great room for comedy where the laughs come big so you have to slow down your pace to avoid treading on them.
I'm releasing full downloads of my first two tours exclusively to people on my mailing list in 2021. The first one 'Club Classics 2000-2013' drops on Blue Monday 18th Jan 2021. The second one at some point later in the year once it's edited. Join mailing list at www.garydelaney.comn if you're so inclined.
I've a new tour called Gary In Punderland on sale now for later in 2021 and 2022. It's all new jokes, basically stuff I've written in lockdown. Dates are at www.garydelaney.com More dates will be added as more venues reopen from Covid 19 shutdowns, so don't worry I'm not planning on leaving out Brum, Manchester, Liverpool, Aberdeen, Belfast, Norwich etc etc I'll let my mailing list know when new venues are added or when sold out venues drop social distancing and hence release more tickets. You can also sign up for local alerts.
I've got a joke book out called Pundamentalist if you like that sort of thing. It's got 1000 jokes in it, none of which are in Gary In Punderland.
I'm also on Twitter @GaryDelaney Instagram @GaryDelaneyComic and Facebook @GaryDelaneyComedian and post a joke a day on those pretty much all the time.

Oh my god I only discovered this guy at the start of a five hour train journey and have an hour left but spent the whole trip laughing hysterically and loudly much to the annoyance of other passengers 😂😂😂😂

My absolute number one, one liner comedian, I can watch Gary Delaney again and again, he is hilarious. And he is married to Sarah Millican, can you imagine the laughs they both have.

Would love to spend day in there household must be laughs galore
Don’t know why I watch him my ribs hurt from laughing so much!
The bus drivers joke is excellent!!🥳 Especially the irony of everyone being able to finish it off themselves 😂
One of my friends lost his son and on the _day_ of that tragedy, he turned up for tennis, explaining it was either that or stay at home and cry. He chose to take his mind off the misery, doing something he loved. Afterwards, some of the players (unaware of the event) were telling jokes. My friend started laughing and for those precious few minutes, he was able to get away from the nightmare of what he'd suffered, thanks to comedy. It was therapeutic and enabled him to get through a difficult period that most of us can't even contemplate. Humour isn't ever offensive, unless you _choose_ to be offended. If this friend could be cheered up by humour, 12 hours after being given the worst news possible, then we all can. Personally, I'd support a law that jailed anyone complaining about jokes. In this dysfunctional and miserable world, we need more ironic and "offensive" jokes, not less. Those who would say otherwise are enemies of happiness and don't belong in normal society. When I was at Gramnar school, in the 60s, we mercilessly lampooned each other. This is where and how, we learnt our debating and riposte skills. Nowadays, kids are so insulated from everything that they have no ability to reply to any remark. We're breeding an entire generation that is unequipped to respond to anything. All thanks to the miserable and sanctimonious "degenerate puritans" (sic) who tout themselves as the arbiters of good taste.

I'm reluctant to suggest comics should be censored, but jokes can be offensive, even if you personally don't take offence. And I do think there is a time and a place for certain forms of humour - and that TV channels (and possibly other outlets) should be wary about the content they show. Gary Delaney is a blue comedian, I guess, but generally not overly offensive, in my opinion. Contrast this against some of the comics from the 70s who, rather than using wit (like Delaney does here) they might choose to get laughs by using a punchline like "black bastard" - or words to that effect. And not based on any witty wordplay, or clever story-telling, then culminates in such a punchline, but simply due to racism. And this kind of attitude feeds back into society. Of course, if you're not on the receiving end, it doesn't really matter. But unlike your Grammar school lampooning - which sounds inclusive - a lot of humour can be very divisive. As for debating, humour is not a key aspect of it. Look at someone like Boris Johnson - he's probably of a similar (maybe slightly younger) age to you, and uses humour whilst debating, but avoids all the key questions. It's not, in my opinion, a good technique. For a while, I think comedy probably was in a good place. But it is becoming overly sanitised, these days. But that doesn't mean that humour cannot be a source for bad (as well as good). The problem is, to counteract the inherent racism and discrimination of previous generations, the younger generation has swung in the opposite direction. It's much better to find that middle-ground.
I liked the line he said once, "Went to see the walking dead.... or as she's more commonly known, Nan". 😂
A comedic genius and no mistake 👍🏻😂
One of the best!
“Apparently the least sexy place for a woman to get a tattoo is Middlesbrough” 😂 ahhhh im from Middlesbrough and that’s very true 🤣

I'm also American and was watching Toast of London maybe two days ago and the main character mentioned something about "following through" in a shop. I didn't know the name of the shop although the set up gave me a clue, but I had no earthly idea what "following through" meant. I had to Google it. If you feel like it Google "following through uk euphemism meaning"; then rewatch and you may get another 3% of his set. And bonus, if you're like me and enjoy watching British comedy; you'll be prepared next time. Any other questionable bits, feel free to reply with a time stamp and I'll see if I can shed any light...
