Although Hank Williams made this song famous in the 1940s it's a cover already. The original is probably by blackface artist Emmet Miller who performed it in the 1920s

​@@strings1586none of Emmett Miller's music uses derogatory slurs, anyways most that know country music before Hank, pretty much calls Jimmie Rodgers the father of country music but being a real honest it was really The Carter family and Roy Acuff the ultimately put country music on the map

Probably the BEST cover of one of my favorite Ole Hank songs. In June I got to fulfill one of my lifetime dreams, I got to go to Montgomery, Alabama and visit the Hank Williams Museum and go to the cemetery and visit and pay respects to Hank’s grave.

@@traviswest8644 desert has its own beauty but it's definitely not that green. If you're looking for grass that lives on its own if you head up towards Payson/Flagstaff/etc you'll get the green - so you can still get your fix (it's the only way I can anyway lol)
