Nick Shoulders - “Indian Love Call” by Slim Whitman
Музыка
Beautiful tune with a dumb name, feast thine ears and eyes upon some prime Ozark bottomland and a song I learned as a dang child (from ‘Mars Attacks!’, of course) and have sung since with grandparents and grand ole pals alike. Slim appears to have played this one in D#, don’t ask me why, but I hope you enjoy this attempt at honoring the king of krooners, as part of the semi-weekly cover series, filmed on the stolen land of the Osage, see ya next round! Nickshoulders.bandcamp.com to digital download!

American “country” and true American “county” are very different beasts. The second is very good the other is basically pop.

I’m 72 years old and I listened to Mr. Slim Whitman, who sang this song so beautifully! This guy does a great job of imitating him.
When you like and add it to your playlist before it even plays, because it's Nick Shoulders.

Fantastic, Nick! Tammy - Years ago, a guy-friend I was kinda crazy about (but had never dated) dropped over to my place. I didn't hear the knock because your Uncle was playing so loudly on my 'tape deck' (don't ask, kids...it was a stone-age music device, we'll leave it at that) My friend sat on my porch listening to Slim (and me) until the tape ended, then as I flipped it over, he knocked again. I answered the door, & he was chuckling with a big smile the whole time we chatted & then he left - after asking me out on a date. Eventually, on our Honeymoon, he told me he knew I was the one for him that day he stopped by and listened to me singing along with Slim Whitman; I knew every word (but pretty sure I didn't hit every note!) He'd never heard Slim; I'd gotten hooked on him at a young age (thanks, mom & dad!) 5 children & 7 grandchildren later, we still listen to your Uncle Slim. My husband knows every word - but he doesn't hit many notes.

Brilliant Nick. "The past is never dead. It isn't even past" - William Faulkner. Great rendition of the Slim Whitman classic. Gorgeous voice. Thanks so much Nick.

Crocks with no socks and in the yoter on the back roads Nick you are my absolute Idol brother, I’m from the oak and madrone hills with blue bellies and diamond head rattlers in Tassajara Ca I love your sound man with a passion my wife and I would really like to see you play in person! Keep on with that yodel and whistle my brotha
NOBODY... NO ARTIST ever hit me like this. I can't catch up with my feelings that your style, talent and presence evoke. I mean it. You leave me dumbfounded, brother.
I'v met Slim Whitman several times in the UK as member of the S.W.A.S This guy gives me hope fore the future in country music!
This was my grandfather's favorite song❤ I think you did it justice, some serious talent you have
Love your stuff. hello from Scotland Nicky boy 🏴🏴🏴🏴
I only just found Nick Shoulders from seeing his latest album appear on itunes. The artwork immediately hooked me, then I spent the next 3 hours on his webpage and on Garhole records, checking out his visual art - the guy is brilliant - and listening to clips and youtube videos, bought a couple of albums, bought some merch…. Hit me hard!
He's our first line of defense if the Martians attack
When the Martians finally land, if they decide to destroy us indeed instead of taking a u-turn (who could blame ‘em? My money was on late August), I hope you’re yodeler-in-chief. Ever since Mars attacks I’ve been dreaming of yodeling to save the world, so relieved I’m not alone. :) Love the cover series, and pretty much anything you come up with man. If you ever yodeled the phonebook I’d preorder that shit. Posted a ditty last week with a nod to Indian Love Call mid-song, but man I can only dream of a yodel that pure and clear. Please don’t ever stop making music.
YES OMG IVE WAITED SO LONG FOR THIS RIGHT HERE. Thank you so much I love you and what you do your style everything!! Yessss ❤❤❤❤

Outstanding! Hearts and alien skulls are melting all over the planet
My dad used to whistle this song all day long. Plus that Anne Murray song snowbird. Oh my gosh..
Dang what a range. Slim Whitman would be proud
The first time I've had my attention span captured wholly for 3 minutes and 8 seconds for a long time.
Awe inspiring........and jaw dropping.
Me explota la cabeza con esta canción...
I'm pretty sure you're the only person on planet earth that could ever do this song justice in the yodel department. You sound so much like him, man, it's nuts. Now excuse me while I go take care of the Martians at my door.
