Old is fresh: 9/10, but new is elegant, 9.25/10.

Old & new both are great watches

I had the old one and loved it. Amaizing design and quality. The new is also beautiful and elegant, the simplified dial is very good innovation. The other novelty is the first piece of the strap. This better integrates the strap with the watch.

Old one looks a lot better to me.

New but with a nice red GMT hand would be perfection. Wish they'd bring out a 4 hand seamaster in the new style...

Is the bracelet on the new one a tad bit different the previous model? ..I'm aware it's different from the 90s version

The older model is definitely the better looking of the two.

Older for sure nothing beats the red and blue combo of those hands, but the 41.5 is the very best 44mm is way to big IMO

Nice watches! Prefer the old one. Is the blue still the same color? The wave dial has certain angles that look cool but mostly, for my taste, it’s just too much.

Would prefer the new 44mm Carrera if I was in the market for a chrono this size. Picking between these two, the new one for me, I love the way the arabics are arranged on the subdials. The splash of colour with the red second hand counter on the old model is nice.

There's no comparison between omega and tag...tag uses off the shelf selitta movement which is not even meta certified nor has any shock protection ..omega in house movements are up to rolex standards now.

@@sac_fijian6314 Not quite, Tag use a derivative of the 7750 movement in some of their chronos. I was referring to the Heuer 02 movement which was developed completely in-house and uses a column wheel with vertical clutch with 70 hours power reserve. Nothing against Omega, I have a Seamaster, but Tag is my go to brand when it comes to chronos.

@@rossdev hmmmm. Not sure the TAG Heuer Calibre 02 is in the same league as Omegas 9900. 33 Jewels, 168 components vs 54 Jewels, 300+ components. Not to mention the twin barrels & full a-magnetic nature of Omegas calibre. Sure the Heuer 02 is a solid movement, but it has been developed to fullfill a lower mid tier price bracket. Omegas 9900 is pretty much as good as it gets from a tech point of view in a Chronograph (I think that can’t really be argued or dismissed) Gets fitted in watches costing 5 times the price of the Carrera chronograph.

@@mendipfox1650 For sure Omega has a better movement and that is reflected in the pricing. My point was that Tag do in fact have their own in-house movements (not just Selitta movements). Also for me, as a motorsport fan, I like the brand Tag Heuer and the general design of their chronos. We all have different reasons for liking certain brands and designs.

New all day. Stepped down smaller dials, waves, better designed valve and pushers and crown, see through caseback, better hands, better design, more presence, more elegant. However the bracelet on the old one is better

the original 7750 based SMPC was the best Seamaster of all. Both of these look very gaudy compared the original.

The new 44mm is just too big imo.

Omega are not capable to make his own, in-house movement.Thats why they use valjoux movements,just slightly modified

@jas zg you clearly have no idea about what’s in the new version. The 9900 movement is the best chronograph movement in the world from a chronometric point of view. Literally bonkers good. Developed in house using the wider swatch groups expertise & financial clout.

i have a seamaster chrono with the 7750 movement and after researching it its a bombproof movement , there is nothing wrong with manufacturers buying in movements from specialist manufacturers , you also need to do your homework
