    Nice review. I was actually considering the black dial version but luckily was able to buy back the trilogy Seamaster 300 which I absolutely prefer to this one. Faux patina is no issue for me and the proportions of the trilogy model are just better in my opinion.

    This watch is a great size and thickness and I love the thinner bezel as well. I too can do without the faux vintage markings. I’d love to see it in completely brushed case and bracelet. Discounts- Fast forward to Memorial Day weekend 2022 , economy , inflation,and interest rates have people spending less and discounts are starting to come back.

    I like the sandy coloured indices on the blue one, but think the black one should be close to white. If I buy the blue dial one, I hope I can swing a 10% discount. I guess when the "great recession" hits soon, discounts won't be an issue.

    All these needs is white numerals on the bezel like you said and also white printed numerals at the markers so it could be legible in all lighting conditions but I guess that would be asking too much of omega. Also it doesn’t need to taper all the way down to 16mm at the clasp 18mm is just fine. It makes the taper look too strong and that’s not accentuated by the polished outer links

  • @steves8322

    I purchased the black dial version 3 weeks ago. The older version never spoke to me but I love the new look. The slimmer case, larger dial, lollipop etc…the movement is super accurate, I’ve lost maybe 9 seconds over 3 weeks time and the lume is awesome. Doesn’t stay super bright all night long but definitely legible.

  • @NicholasOdinson

    @NicholasOdinson

    2 жыл бұрын

    Technically the co axial movement isn’t supposed to lose time. Mine loses about the same and a dealer said they could regulate it for me but that means they would have it for multiple weeks.

    @@NicholasOdinson agreed 0/+5 seconds per day but -1/2 second is about the most accurate I’ve seen on mechanical watch…also I haven’t worn it every day so I’d have to gauge further

  • @KLucero22

    @KLucero22

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@NicholasOdinson that’s not technically true. For example, the METAS certification means that the movement, fully cased, is tested in 6 different positions (face side up, face side down, crown up, crown down, 12 up, 12 down) and the deviation of time is tested at each position. The time gained or lost at each position is then added together and then AVERAGED across the six and it is the AVERAGE gain/loss across all six positions which must be between 0 and +5 seconds. However, this means that depending on an individual’s usage i.e. how they wear the watch, and store it overnight, that it might be one specific position which dominates more than others. And if that individual position loses time rather than gains time then the watch will eventually lose time. One way to combat this is to store the watch in a position to offset the time lost. For example, I own the new 3861 Speedmaster and I have found that it gains +2 seconds when stored 24 hours with 12 o-clock pointing down. However on my wrist it loses about -1 second for 12-14 hrs of wear. So I simply store it 12 o-clock facing down and it offsets the time lost. In this way, I rarely ever have to correct the time on my speedy since I’ve owned it. In fact, self regulating in this manner means my speedy is currently keeping time better than my quartz g shock.

    I really like this watch but it wears big for a 41mm. I tried it on in the AD and it looked noticeably larger than my speedy pro . I think the small bezel and large dial area gives it the appearance of a larger watch . My personal opinion is that a size of 39-40mm would be more in keeping with the vintage inspired look .

    I really like this piece of art! But it makes me sad that the bracelet is not fully brushed and more true to the heritage as the watch for adventurers. All the glossy polish makes it to dressy and sensitive for scratches. It could also be shrunken down to 39 mm like the divewatches in 1957. That's perhaps the only thing holding me back and start to look at other watches.

    It's a 41 but wears smaller bc of the now curved lugs, which is what convined me to buy this version and trade in my blue SMD300m... basically it's quite similar in dimensions and wear to the Rolex GMT. The thinner bezel also makes it looks bigger as there is more dial real estate, which for me is amazing. Make sure you go try one on!

    @@stevefox8605 4 *_months!?_* Was that just for a regular service, or was the watch broken? Your AD had to send it out of your country to have it serviced? I'm currently tossing up between this watch with black dial and a Grand Seiko diver (SBGA463), but I've been leaning towards the Omega because the total cost of ownership seems so much higher for the GS. Considering recommended service interval X service cost, the GS seems to cost about 3 times what the Omega does for servicing and since the GS Spring Drive needs to be sent back to Japan, the turn around is also around 4 months. $1,200 every 4 years for the GS, versus about $800 every 8 years for the Omega.
