OMEGA SEAMASTER 300. All models 2021 presented by Gregory Kissling, Head of Product Management.

I invite you to discover everything about the new Omega Seamaster 300. In Biel/Bienne at the Omega HQ Gregory Kissling, Head of Product Management of Omega, presented me all new models of the new 41 mm diver. After a short introduction you will "only" see the watches filmed with a macro lens in 4K on your screens and be able to listen to our voices. So once again the watches are the stars of this video. Enjoy and have fun ... watch television in 4K!
!! Just a note to apologize for accidentally not having noticed that Greg's Rode microphone some times scratched his tie/shirt. Our learning curve still is steep and we try to get better and better all the time. From now on we will double check the sound, since in the headsets of our cameraman Jorge these little scratches were not clearly hearable. !!
We are also proud to have our partner Vontobel provide us with in-depth industry knowledge, featured in their latest "Swiss watch industry outlook". You can find it here: bit.ly/3mw6WEN
First created by Omega in 1957, the Seamaster 300 represents one of the most famous watches in underwater history. Admired by generations of divers, it has remained an iconic timepiece for more than 60 years. In 2021, the latest collection of models will arrive. Not only will they be thinner than previous versions thanks to the new sapphire glass, but they will include plenty of vintage tributes and a brand new Master Chronometer upgrade.
The new collection follows the spirit of those original models. Each of the 41 mm timepieces will be delivered in classic stainless steel, with thinner bezels crafted from an oxalic, anodized-treated aluminium for increased hardness (500 Vickers).
The bracelets are also in stainless steel and now come with an improved fit and finishing. Their shape has been ergonomically adjusted with streamlined fittings and a thinner, polished- brushed clasp. On the leather straps, a new buckle has also been included.
Perhaps the most noticeable changes can be found on the new dials. For this, Omega has utilised a sandwich concept, including a base layer with Super-LumiNova and a second plate over the top with cuttings for the recessed hour markers and numerals. In a nod to history, these numerals are in the vintage Arabic open style, which appeared on early Seamaster 300 models in the 1960s.
Omega has also reintroduced the popular lollipop central seconds hand for the stainless steel models, with its tip now filled with Super-LumiNova. The hand works beautifully with the
cleaner dial, which features only the Omega logo and Seamaster 300 name. There are no longer any references to the movement (these have instead been moved to the case-back).
Those with a keen eye may also notice that the slim inner frame has given the dial a larger display, with an opening of 30.4 mm, as opposed to the previous 29.5 mm. Furthermore, Omega has achieved a slightly slimmer Seamaster 300 thanks to a new domed sapphire crystal on the face of the watch. This thinner look is enhanced by the addition of a new conical crown at the side of the case.
Finally, the case-back includes a wave-edged design, as well as sapphire crystal that offers a view of the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8912. The movement and full watch have been certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) at the industry’s highest standards of precision, performance and magnetic resistance.
To learn more about the METAS certification, please click here to download a PDF in English language: www.metas.ch/metas/en/home/do...

Always love it when channels manage to show watches with clear video and in natural light. I also love that you show the new and the old steel version side by side! I like the previous version over most of these. Mainly due to the bezel look/material and more restraint when it comes to the amount of brown lume. But I love the bronze gold version over everything else.

Personally, I'd go for the stainless case, blue dial, stainless bracelet (I'm surprised they don't offer a rubber strap). Also, the lollypop on the seconds hand is perfect. It makes it easy to read seconds while not overpowering the dial. Thanks for your efforts.

Hi Alex, I am a new fans of yours. Respect you in how much efforts you put into every review and answered all the comments, even replied many of the rude & pointless comments. I am new to watches, fall in love with the Omega Spectre in 2014, lollipop & Omega logo replaces 12. With the limited availability at RRP price, I did not get one. Omega released a heritage series few years ago, it wasn’t tempting enough for me to seal the deal, even I had been offered by an AD for a really nice price. The April 2021 Heritage released Seamaster 300, with lollipop hands, no logo replace 12, but the sandwich dial has created a very different 6 & 9, and 3D dimension, I really like it. But I can not find much information on this particular watch online & you tube. Mostly are Omega Seamaster 300M, with the escape valve. Your video is the ONLY full of depth review on this watch. I am lucky enough to purchased one of the few in my country, black dial, few days ago. Really like it, so as my mrs who has a small wrist, ( she wears 39mm now ). We have ordered a blue dial for her, hopefully will get it by end of the year. Initially she was about to get the Grand Seiko Blue Snowflake / Skyflake Questions, many argue / told me 1. this heritage series is over price, as it is a very basic watch with no complication. 2. Omega = Moonwatch or Seamaster 300M, my purchased is a mistake 3. This Seamaster 300 will only be a trial range for Omega, eventually my purchase will worth nothing in few years time as no one will remember this range 4. Should I cancelled the Seamaster 300 and change to Moonwatch instead? At least we know the Moonwatch is iconic to Omega. 5. Many also told me the reasons why I can’t find much information about this watch is because it’s not supposed to be exist in omega range, apart than the Spectre edition and 1957 edition in this range 6. I should not buy Omega but Grand Seiko, better value and a better watch. And many more reasons. I know you would say, if the Seamaster 300 with the lollipop, 6 & 9, will put a smile on me, it’s a perfect choice. At least in my case, it does. I like it, because it is simple, and it’s not in your face with OMEGA. Is a very humble classy watch. That is the same reason, mrs was about to get the Skyflake But I would really like to know, from your experience & knowledge, where would this series / range stand in Omega collection, now & the future? Am I investing my money in Omega over price, mass production, trial products? Being a newbie, don’t know much about watches, have I done a mistakes here? What would you recommend?

  • @WatchAdvisor

    @WatchAdvisor

    3 жыл бұрын

You haven't done a mistake! Why? You have been choosing your watch emotionally and not rationally... What you have been reading/hearing about the Seamaster is nonsense! The Seamaster, Speedmaster and Railmaster look back all together on an interesting history... True, the history of the Speedmaster is known best and hard to top, but also the Seamaster is loaded with emotions and stories. This Seamster 300 will of course not disappear in the collection of Omega. For buying your next watch, either for your Mrs. or yourself, please let again you heart decide... it will not cheat, it will tell you what to do... Buy what you like and what makes your heart beat and not what someone tells you to do...

@@WatchAdvisor I had the opportunity to see the new Seamaster 300 in person, and I find the bronze gold piece very warm and welcoming to look at. Alittle concern on how the watch would change as time goes on because I personally don’t like the regular bronze watch as it changes overtime. Since this is a mixture in alloys, I hope it works better overtime. The stainless steel versions are not as impressive in person I guess. The faux patina is not my cup of tea. Would prefer it better if it was just plain white with the step dial effect. As for the Seamaster 300M black black, I saw that in person as well and I put my name down for one. It’s such a cool looking watch. I own the Dark side of the moon with the skeleton dial and the ceramic material is amazing.

Alex, my deep appreciation for mastering and sharing this great video. As always very energetic and informative. This is definitely a very nice collection. But it feels that their titanium blue dial model from the previous generation will hugely grow in its uniqueness and after all resale value. As it is discontinued now, no plans to work with titanium. And, which is even more important, no Submariners could be compared with it. Agree?

A great review Alexander and thanks to Omega for the additional background information regarding some of the decisions made. I love the sandwich dial arrangement. I also like the simple text on the dial, more manufacturers should learn from this. No date complication and quick hour adjustment is also a + for me. From a personal perspective I would have kept the ceramic bezel on the stainless steel version and carried over the pointer second hand. OK it's going back towards the roots of the early model but to produce a flagship version of this in Bronze that has a ceramic bezel and the pointer drives a wedge between the different models that I find difficult to reconcile to the point that I think I'd rather go for the outgoing stainless version in preference to the new collection if I was in the market. A good try Omega but for me I'm not convinced this collection is for me at the moment. Sorry, I think I'll pass this time. This of course is only my first impression so maybe if/when I see them in the flesh things may change

With this new Seamaster 300 Omega got closer to the original Seamaster and this was worth the exercise IMHO. Great review and fantastic: distinctive, classy watch. Well done Omega - a big improvement over the previous iteration. For me, still undecided. The size is the question - still unclear as to whether it is 41mm case or bezel (which overhangs). Of course, how it wears is key and it's in the ball park, but I'd prefer a 40mm max for a classically proportioned diver. Super quality no doubt - the movement and bracelet are superb. I am really impress with these new SM300 !! but need to ask why the stopped using the liquid metal for the bezel? They are using Aluminium and Ceramic instead. I also noticed Planet Ocean Lineup stopped using Liquid Metal. Anyway, what about the LM for SM300 dial sandwich? Still the best content around watch channels Alexander...Ty so much !

LM was "only" used for the numbers and indexes in the bezel... now it is SuperLuminova ...

I was waiting for your review of this new S300 line! Finally I can see these pieces with the superb quality of your videos. I think that the new version got a huge improvement in terms of caliber and the bracelet. I'm not a big fan of the lollipop second hand, but I think I could accept it. After you tried them on, what is your favorite Alexander?

The one with blue dial and the lollipop 😉 I just would not wear it with the strap proposed... this watch cries for a matching blue nylon/tissue strap ...

A little red needle tip on top of the lollipop would balance it well.

The black 300 is nearly a perfect everyday watch! Only gripe: I wish they would’ve done a vintage clasp similar to the Ed White since they both use the flat link bracelet.

Then there again would be no fine adjustment for the length of the bracelet and many would criticize this... It is not possible to please all interested parties...
