How many times does your internet freeze up? How many times a day does your cell phone drop a call, or "can you repeat the last 15 seconds?" How many of you have medical specialists mis-billing you because they can't manage their records? And you're going to let someone implant a chip where?

There are many people who live without modern technology, using early 2000s or even 90s technology much in their lives or just limit the modern technology in their lives for a variety of personal reasons. Truth be told, they aren't like even near 50% of world population but there certainly are still many of them. Whether we agree with them or not, doesn't mean we should judge them. You get on KZread and right away you get recommended a music video from an artist you like. Then you click on your favorite KZreadrs new video, then autoplay will just start going places and next thing you know, your entire feed is slightly different. This will slowly keep happening until the AI gets you to be how it thinks you should be. Social media is how they've already brainwashed all of us. Keep the chip out of your brain, they don't care. What happens when you're 100 years old and you want to go but you can't because your consciousness is hooked up to the cloud?!! You won't have any rest. Now, with neural implants, movement and coordination are effortless. Back in my day, we had to rely on spoken language for communication. Now, with direct neural interfaces, thoughts are shared instantaneously. Back in my day, we had to manually learn new skills. Now, you can just download them directly into your brain. Back in my day, we had to manually control our emotions. Now, with emotion-regulating brain chips, you kids have it easy. Back in my day, we had to endure sleepless nights before big exams. Just a year or two ago, i would have said it's impossible. Yet, as soon as you mentioned the sight one, I was instantly thinking how rapidly that might develop with machine learning! I imagine you could implant a (Neuralink) device into a seeing volunteer. You then show them a bunch of images, and the Machine analyses the nural signals and the digital signals, so maping how they correspond with each other. Then, once its done some learning, the volunteer now closes their eyes, and the machine instead sends data the other way; using it's digital-neural conversion map to try and translate the data correctly for the brain. After each attempted image, the user would open their eyes and indicate to the Machine if what they saw matched what is on the screen. I mean, that's just my best guess at the process. I can't even begin to imagine what vastly more efficient method the actual geniuses working on this stuff will come up with!

As a person you love this sort of technology, a fan of immersive tech, and a supporter of Musk and the rest of his companies, this is something that i personally would be ok with getting, sometime in the future. Though i can tell there is a lot of controversy due to the invasiveness and more importantly, the security. One would ask, if it's going to be possible for signals to be sent back to the brain, then what is to stop, say, a hacker, from hacking into someone's connection and basically mind control the person. That is why there should be very tight security measure and safeguards set in place. One major thing that Neurolink should do as a security measure, it to have some kind of Firewall in the device that has only be accessed manually. Meaning, it would have to be physically plugged into at the lab in order to get through and to the interface to "change certain settings". Much like how it is with opening a safe that has a specific key in order to access. And the only place to get that key is at the Lab where there is constant surveillance. This way, no one can access the Neurolink control settings digitally.

no. I generate my own voice thoughts, my ideas come as observations of workings, not thoughts. I "see" them. the mind is part of the soul, but the physical mind (brain) is a tool, it works on problems while we sleep, work etc, then spits out the solution in our own personal, elegant language... we all have our own distinct code. Languages are consensus code, clunky, agree upon, dynamic, but the inner language is unique, then there is the gut..... and of course, the "observer".... voices and unsolicited phone calls are pap.
