The last goal was important after England finished with 6-0 win, because without it, Holland would have been (+7) in goal difference just like England (+7) and England would have came on top because they have scored more goals in total. (13 Ned vs 15 Eng).

Amazing end to a match. It does not get any better than that. from an English fan. ps one of my life's footie regrets is not seeing Johan Cruyth play for Barcelona against Aston Villa at Villa in the 1970s. But not a regret: In 1983 I went to Rotterdam with my dear late brother Chris to see David Bowie in concert. The Australian band Icehouse and UB40 were the back up. My brother and I tried a delicacy of raw fish? No idea what it was? The Dutch people looked so smartly dressed and us English were in jeans and t-shirts lol. Great memories of life.

@@doughall2932 you're quite biased. And yes, in normal circumstances they do, I believe that. But these circumstances weren't even close to normal. The players of Scotland had nothing to play for. Except for the fact that they had a possibility to go to the Olympics! If England went through! And ofc they tried to set up a fight because it has to look like they do. But in the end the only goal of Scotland was to act the best they could and concede the most goals without letting it look suspicious

Trying to reconstruct the exact timeline of events here. Assuming that the two games were perfectly in sync, when Eguirola scored her 1st goal, Netherlands had a +1 goal difference over England. But then Bronze scored in the other game and England now had one more goal scored overall and were progressing. But then Eguirola scored once more and Netherlands had +1 again. If that is how it happened, it is indeed very exciting but I'm still trying to understand: how on earth did Scotland end up in the same group with England if they both represent the same Team GB?? Where's the sporting principle?? Strange that Scotland didn't lose by 20 goals in these circumstances 🤔

@@RachelFoster-jt5xz I understand about the Scotland v England thing but if you were one of the top Scottish players who had a realistic chance to be included in the GB team participating in the greatest sporting event on the planet, would you agree that some people would feel that you had motivation not to be trying as hard in that game? Such a situation could have been avoided had UEFA made sure that England, Scotland and Wales were put in different groups during the draw. I think it's fantastic that Eguirola scored twice in the added time and made that a moot point

Do people think it easy to fix a match ? There was no match fixing in any of the matches . Belgium punched above their weight for a while but they met their match. the dutch were ready for them.

Que partidazo de Esmee Brugts No entiendo porque Giraldez insiste con ella de extremo o de 9, cuando claramente se beneficia de tener gente delante y como lateral izquierda encaja mucho mejor por el juego ofensivo del Barca, justo como Rolfö, tiene mas espacio para conducir con balon como lateral que como extremo, posicion en la que siempre reciben con marca y poco espacio para maniobrar por el bloque alto del Barca, y el bloque bajo del rival

Por la izquierda juega Ona Batlle y no hay quien le quite el puesto en estos momentos. Quizás si Bronze se va (cumple contrato al final de temporada), Ona puede pasar a la derecha (en la Selección juega ahí) y dejar el lateral izquierdo para Brugts.

The Belgian team also had a bit of luck in the previous games, their opponents then weren't fully organised. The trainer, Serneels, ignored some serious flaws in the Belgian team, at least two players should have been replaced earlier on ( months ago), which came to show in this game. You can't expect from newcomers to be fully into the game on this level , it is a opportunity Serneels has missed . Reminds me of Martinez, afraid of renewal and holding on on thin strings.

netherland - belgium 4-0 was normal scotland - england = 0-6 was ABNORMAL (scotland dont show nothing potencial ,THEY WAS AWAITING or inviting TO RECIEVE GOAL CHANCES (they was thinking to participate with great britain in olympics as only one target) (the ENG-SCO was 3-1 even with referee helping ENG = scotland should have a penalty , and 1 of the ENG goal was offside)
