Scotland is a part of the UK. There is no such thing as a UK football team, except, occasionally, in The Olympics. In the context of football. it's England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. @@RudolfJohMoll

As a Dutch fan this was a great game, amazing shots and saves on both sides. I cheered against England in the World Cup but I think I've been convinced to at least cheer for Earps.

Why would you cheer against them? Unless they were playing the Netherlands. They play some of the best football, there’s no reason to cheer for any other nation over them other then the Netherlands.

Being Dutch it is normal that you encourage pirates. Birds of a feather flock together ( " Dios los cria y ellos se juntan" ). Thank goodness they are no longer in the European Union and the bands can no longer get together there.

From my perspective NL is number #1 in the world. My team (USA) is struggling. England may well be in contention. That Dutch defense is like a wall.

For me the 1st goal of Netherlands were offside, but well, in general a great game

Y, she was in a offside position, and VDD didn't kick the ball to score. If she had done that, the ref. would have blown the whistle for offside. Instead, VDD kicked the ball back to her teammate Lieke Martens to score.

yea but usually the ref stops the game during offside and dont let it continue... you cant pass a teammate whos in offside position and then let her pass back lol... @@7spower998

@@7spower998 Referee here -- what you say does not make sense. She was offside when she received the ball from the blocked clearance by her teammate. Goal should not have stood. No VAR in feminin football?

@@CapuletLeGrand 2:30 She was offside as a decoy. She was then leveled with England defender #5 Greenwood. When she got the ball she turned, faced and ran away from England GK. She then passed the ball to Nederland #11 Martens to score with a curling ball. Had she not turned but facing the England GK and take a shot, the ref. probably would have blown the whistle for offside. If VAR was used, it wouldn't have found VDD offside. The goal would stand. I can say that you don't platy football at all. Don't just jump the wagon, but analyse the play before making any judgement.

@@CapuletLeGrand Sorry but Nono. When DvD received the ball she was not off side but she was coming back from an off side position, GAINING ADVANTAGE. Referee should have canceled the goal even DvD was not off side when she received the ball. If there was VAR the goal was cancelled.

"most reliable strikers" she couldn't score against Portugal,Haiti,Nigeria,Denmark,or Spain at the World Cup...all those games she was a starter. She's a good player but she's not the most reliable striker in the world, she played all 7 matches at the WC and only had 3 goals. Lauren James played 5 games and had 3 goals and 3 assists at the WC shes Englands most reliable player right now

it might not be if the rules are scrutinized deeply. the ball was played behind the attacking player AND in front (or equal) of the last defender which technically means that the ball never crossed the critical off-side line and is treated as if it were a pass backwards instead of forward pass.

The pass was from the defense, just deflected by the attacking team, therefore it can't be offside. The same as if it were a pass back to the keeper that was intercepted.

Its not "whenever Russo goes to the bench" Russo wasn't on the bench for the Nigeria game at the World Cup she couldn't score then, She couldn't get close to scoring during the final against Spain, she didn't score against Denmark either at the WC, she couldn't even score against Haiti at the World Cup. Shes a good player but don't give her undeserved hype.The team can win without her, they did just fine winning against Scotland without her

We lost the world cup final because Russo didn't play the second half, the highlight of the world cup for England is her, and I give so much credit to what she did because after James' mistake and injuries. Russo, Toone and Hemp led England to the final
