I thought it was going to be a 5 set match for whoever wins but I am surprised that Poland finished it in 3 set even though I was rooting for them from the beginning 😊.

Two teams in two different stages of development. Lavarini had a lot more time with the Polish team, so he understands how to utilize them to get the team win. I think he has already decided his squad for Paris 2024. I am not sure what Velasco was thinking when he selected his players for the first week. He doesn't want the ITA team to be all about Egonu and Antropova, but he needs better defensive players and OH's if he wants to make that possible. I also don't understand why he took out Antropova near the end of the set. Velasco should have brought Ofelia Malinov because she actually played with Antropova in Scandicci before or maybe even Parrocchiale who can help in transitional plays since she understands how to help Kate in the offense. Italy actually had chances to win a set, but it just didn't work out. You can clearly see that they are still trying to find the perfect balance for the team. The difference between Maja and Bosio/Orro is that she understands how to create situations that allow her star opposites to score the points. There were clear moments that Antropova could have scored in but Bosio did not set the ball to her (she also made some errors so that may be why but still 😐...) Italy still have lots of strong players so they will have a chance to protect their spot to Paris Olympics. I think the safest option is to focus on making a squad to support Egonu and Antropova and have them play together until the Olympics so they are more familiar with each other. Forza Italia we go fight again. Congrats to Poland for the win! ❤🇵🇱🇮🇹

Maçı Antalya'da izledim. Egonu bu maçta oynasaydı sonuç kesinlikle 3-0 olmazdı. Her üç sette de İtalya iyi mücadele etti ama başaramadı. Egonu ile bu başarı olabilirdi diye düşünüyorum.

Velasco had to give at least a week's rest to the three players from Conegliano and the three players from Milano because they finished the sports season just two weeks ago and the same goes for Pietrini who played the final series of five games in the Russian championship. These seven players started training again just yesterday and will be present from the second week onwards.

Przyjemnie ogląda się teraz grę żeńskiej reprezentacji Polski w siatkówce. Od większości zawodniczek bije pewność siebie, pozytywna energia, co przekłada się na większą waleczność i skuteczniejszą grę w obronie i ataku. Żeby jeszcze tylko zmniejszyć liczbę niewykorzystanych ataków przez niezgranie Stysiak z Wenerską albo po prostu błędne wybory Stysiak, byłoby super. Bardzo dobra gra Natalii Mędrzyk. Trener Lavarini zrobił naprawdę dobrą robotę. Nagle okazało się, że mamy tyle świetnych siatkarek, czego przed 2-3 laty nie było widać. Teraz myślę, że Polska mogłaby wystawić spokojnie dwie drużyny siatkarskie kobiet i poradziłyby one sobie z większością reprezentacji. Duża szkoda, że na igrzyska może pojechać tylko 12 dziewczyn. O wiele więcej zawodniczek zasłużyło przez ostatnie miesiące, by tam być i grać. MKOL i FIVB to leśne dziady.

Anyhow, I expected Lubian here, maybe she and others will join the team later; it is quite common that for such a long series of matches of VNL some players cannot participate in every matches, the Italian league is devastating, I am happy that Ekaterina Antropova was here, she is fantastic, first time her participation in VNL. Olivia Różański a favorite wasn't here, either.

In this first week, Italy has many important absences, the starting team is practically missing with the exception of Danesi and (perhaps) Bosetti because they finished the competitive season just two weeks ago; in addition Italy is in the position to face a VNL to obtain the Olympic pass. Velasco is picking up the pieces of the immense damage done last year by Mazzanti and by an unconscious Federation that supported him in his deliriums.

L'Italia B è una squadra di seconda fascia, inferiore all'attuale Polonia titolare: l'Italia B perse anche nella Vnl 2023, anche se 3-1 e non 3-0. Mettiamoci anche che alcune ragazze non sono al top e la sconfitta è spiegata. Comunque brava Polonia, anche se il fatto di poter disporre della squadra titolare al completo (a parte Wolosz) l'ha aiutata. Italy B is a second-tier team, inferior to the current starting Poland: Italy B also lost in the 2023 VNL, albeit 3-1 and not 3-0. Let's also say that some girls are not at the top and the defeat is explained. Anyway, well done Poland, even if the fact of having the full starting team (apart from Wolosz) helped them.

in the first set at 17:21 Italy's setter went for the center instead of going to Antropova. She would have scored for sure for 17:22.5 points ahead is well over 3 points in the end of the set we all know. Italy were psychologically down after the first set and they couldn't hold ln their lead in the 3rd set for this reason I suppose. Just the way I see the things. They could have gone different
