My cat gets in the window and watches me when I leave for work and she's in the window watching for me when I come home. Right now she's outside running neighborhood. I call her the mayor. I agree with you, pets are a blessing!

I find my brain runs like a freight train off the rails. I obsess with my state of being and my mortality. It's a hard habit to break. Plus I find myself questioning everything also. I never used to do that. I find that if I keep myself busy I can shut the thoughts in my head. You are very relatable and I enjoy your podcasts. Thanks for sharing.

I love that your family had one more night with Chewy and that you didn't take it for granted..and that you supported him through it. A yellow lab named dusty joined my family shortly before I was born. When she was 13, we found out she had cancer. I remember the night before we had to put her to sleep, my parents let my sisters and I sleep with her for the night. I remember thinking that no one should be alone at times like these, and I loved her so much, so I wanted to see her through every bit of her last day with us. I think about that night pretty frequently. I'm truly grateful for how your family treated your boy. As for the rest of the video, I couldn't agree more. I have a lot to unpack myself because I also used alcohol to avoid my trauma and my thoughts. I have a lot of unchecked anxiety that I'm still learning how to manage, and since the last video where you addressed this, I've been trying to stop my intrusive thoughts in their tracks by also saying no. If it can't be dealt with in that moment, or if it's a thought born out of the infinite doom and gloom what if's in life, then it has no right to be renting out space in my mind. I'm working hard at dealing with things immediately when I can, especially if not doing so will cause me stress somewhere down the road. But I'm trying to remember that there is a difference between preparing for the near future, and self sabotaging by worrying about things that haven't even happened yet, or things that I can't do anything about. I'm always expecting the shoe to drop because getting comfortable leaves room for disappointment when things don't go well. While it's important to be practical about things, it's also important to sometimes let go and just breathe. I appreciate your perspective so much. You don't sound like you're trying to be a psychiatrist or a guru. You sound like a person speaking wisdom. You've lived through all of these things, and you have found tools that have been working for you and you are being kind enough to share them. So thank you. I hope you, everyone in your family and everyone in this community is doing okay ❤️❤️ have a great night all ❤️❤️

Hey Micru! My week is going pretty okay! And by that, I mean that I'm struggling pretty hard with my anxiety lately! Haha 🥹 But LD's advice has helped me from flying over the edge with it (mainly meaning that I'm at least not spiraling and web md-ing the reasons why I'm definitely [not] dying) lol but I expected to be feeling this way. I'm in a transitional spot with work. I have to make moves so that I can earn a better salary, and I love both of my jobs, so even though the choices I'm making will benefit me, I'm very sad about it. I've just been taking so many (necessary) financial hits in such a short period of time that it made me realize how unstable I actually am with my income. And I probably have to have that growth removed for squash (my kitty), but I already know that I can't afford to do it right away. So I'm afraid about all of the things I'm going to be told at his vet visit on Thursday. For both him and myself, because I feel so guilty that I have to put a pause on things. It thankfully hasn't grown, though. But I'm nervous. Anywho. YOU ASKED. Haha Somehow, even just typing this out made me feel a little better, though. So thanks. It's always good to hear from you! And it looks like you’re already working there so you have an idea of the culture. In this economy we have to find those opportunities to make more money. Unfortunately, the dollar doesn’t get us much these days with high prices. You’ve mentioned you’re a teacher, in fl they’re grossly underpaid. I hope NY is better. I know you enjoy being around kids and teaching is such a privilege and rewarding. As for squash, I know you’re doing everything you can to keep him healthy. The way you care for him is just another example of how I know you’re such a beautiful person in and out. I hope you both get favorable news on Thursday. Try not to over think and stress, you’ll figure it out no matter what. I’m sure of it. Maybe see if you can finance it ugh 😣 I know it’s awful to have to get in debt but again all of that will get resolved. I’m in transitional point in my career as well. I work in a typical corporate job where layoffs are occurring every month. The work culture is toxic and many of the hard workers are gone. Pretty stressful to say the least…it’s what has caused me to drink lol but not today. I know that the solution is not at the bottom of the bottle. I have tried soooooo many times to find it there and never once found it. In my life, when I make decisions I just jump in head first…if it works out great and if not there’s always new and better opportunities around the corner. Thank you for saying that I’m a positive person. I have evolved from the pessimist I used to be. We have no control in most things so all we can do is try to manage what we can control. Wow...my mind is usually on the Indy 500 also. The last six months have been hell. Often leads to deep depression, and Yes, then I think about Captain Morgan and coke. Fortunately, I don't ever give in to it. (With meds I take, really can't drink)... You are so spot on! I so needed this today! Your videos are so timely. You just reminded me of my dad....all the stuff he would say 4 sure!

This is such a hard time, I know from experience. We lost our family dog (husky/coyote and the best girl ever) at 14 years due to cancer which came on quick. A lot of changes over the years including a divorce and big move and my daughter knew her her whole life. We knew she had to be laid to rest and we both got to say our goodbyes. My kid who was 6 at the time wanted to be there when we did it and it was hard. It was my damn best friend ever and I still miss her like crazy two years later but that was a big part of what threw me into a spiral. It never goes away but it gets better, but never really goes away. Regardless, drinking doesn’t help or bring them back. Stay strong, I’m so proud of you! So sorry to hear about this, sounds like your dog was a really special part of your family, just like us. But there are other ways to cope. Thanks for posting about this, I’m sure it’s tough. Sending you all love in this hard time! ❤

Oh no! It's just the beginning of your video and I'm crying already. Our corgi passed away as soon as we said goodnight to him. We knew it was the last night. I went to bed at midnight, hubby got up at 1am to check on him and he was gone. I think he was waiting for us to leave the room. Quite honestly it was harder than losing some family members. You get so close to your dogs. We couldn't handle it without him so 3 months after losing him, we got another corgi. Everyone kept telling us it will help. I thought they were crazy because no dog could take the place of our Barney. They were right though. We have our beautiful Archie now that has his own personality, yet he also has so many of the same cute traits about him that are just like Barney.

The same goes for drugs or any addictive thing. I used to really obsess about my drugs, then my smokes. It never ends but boy do I feel better not doing those things anymore. Now i obsess about getting cancer because all my family members have passed from it. But I'm thankful I'm already older than every single one of them that passed. Thank the Lord

I'm an overthinker. Today I was thinking, would I have reached for alcohol in 2006 when I put my dog down, then down the whole lane, my mom,my dad,my aunts and uncles, cousins...I really don't think so, as I really didn't start drinking increasing until 2013 or so, so I can't tell . My dad was plastered at every funeral. He was very sentimental, and cried a lot...sorry, I'm drifting....been a sad day here.

Drinking alcohol has never ever solved anyone's problems, but it has made alot of them worse. Alcohol is a depressive & it will just make everything harder to deal with and send you into a downward spiral. Sorry for the loss of your dog.

I recently have developed jaundice. Should I go A&E as soon as possible. Is jaundice reversible? I’m really scared. Did you have it LD? Did you reverse it and how long did it take if so? I already have cirrhosis but no ascites or varisces. Is it possible?

I would definitely see a doctor regarding your recent onset of jaundice, it’s not something to dismiss as it’s the underlying cause of it that needs to be assessed by a qualified doctor.

Hey there. I'm sorry I am just getting to this. I would definitely go to the er. That means that your bilirubin levels are really high and you need to get that checked. They can give you medication for it. You do not want to develop encephalopathy, you will not know what's going on. Please keep me posted on how you are doing. And to your question, yes, I have had it. My skin and eyes turned yellow and my urine was dark brown. I'll be looking to hear back from you. I'm worried about you my friend. God bless❤❤❤❤
