Rocket and some jet science was OK but not much else. You missed out the role played by Sir Francis Younghusband in encouraging Schaffer to ignore the British authorities and just to go straight ahead into Tibet. Younghusband had been the commander of the British army that had crossed the Himalayas in the middle of winter thus catching the Tibetan army offguard and occupying Lhasa. The slaughter of the Tibetan troops that occurred in the battle that followed seems to have (unsurprisingly) incurred the undying dislike of the British by the Tibetans. The book is called "Himmlers Crusade" should anyone desire a more detailed description of these events.
