And it turned into a nasty lawsuit. But Dan Brown would do the exact same thing when he stole the idea for the DaVinci Code from the Book ''Holy Blood Holy Grail,'' released in 1982, also about that region of France, also based on true events, so the story goes and that ended up in a huge lawsuit too. The holy grail is just a metaphor for enlightenment. The cup is God, which is what prophets drink from to acheive immortality. To literally acheive immortality, you have to give your egoic self to God and become an empty vessel for God, this is "death while alive"

That's the way the cookie crumbles. While it is doubtful anyone would have bothered to keep the drinking vessels from the last gathering and meal of Christ.

Funny. Nowhere in the Bible is Jesus quoted as telling his followers that objects have magical powers, or instructing them to worship or venerate objects. To do so would have been anathema to Jesus as a Jew.

Obviously what happened to the researcher is terrible, but he definitely made some pretty bad choices. Joining and working for the group that wants to murder your people is wild. He was bound to get caught, so why not just leave right away?

I think that in 1936, no one knew what the Nazi’s were going to do. At that point they were praised for bringing Germany out of the depression. Only later, in 39 did the world begin to see what they were doing, then it was too late.
