The Normandy countryside, is similatr to the Pembrokeshire countryside with narrow winding lanes, with tree lined hedge banks on either side,

It’s true More people have been killed with this gun than any other ! Even Mr Kalishnicov was uncomfortable with this fact saying “I only made this weapon to protect our Motherland !”

The US, Germans and the Soviet Union were no longer using rivets in their tank designs in favour of the better way to fasten steel together ie: welding. Yet, here comes the Cromwell Tank - looks like we'll have enough built for the Normandy campaign and we must ensure that we use rivets rivets and more rivets.

Im so tired of people complaining about censorship... yeah, we get it, we know its annoygin to be treated as little kids. Matter of fact is this channel, as well as History Hit, is providing us with tons of hours of amazing documentaries that would be very difficult to get in an organized and properly ordered manner if not for them. KZread has annoying rules, that has nothing to do with the great work War Stories is doing into archiving all these amazing docu series and shows. My only gripe is the titles they give to the actual documentaries sometimes make it difficult to identify the original title.

The conflict in Yugoslavia had one of the highest death tolls by population in the war, and is usually estimated at around one million, about half of whom were civilians. Genocide and ethnic cleansing was carried by the Axis forces and their collaborators, and reprisal actions from the Partisans became more frequent towards the end of the war, and continued after it.

WHY did MI5/MI6 not become aware of something going on in Argentina WHEN the Argentinian officers and men on courses at various UK base's suddenly up and leave just prior to the Falklands conflict, or is another of those hear all see all say nowt scenarios??? ALWAYS makes me wonder, convenient for the Argentinian government and very convenient for Maggie Thatcher, or am I just CYNICAL??

Tito was one of those rare Leaders that just makes people want to follow you. He knew his countries internal prejudices would erupt violently as soon as the Germans/Italians were chased out. The type of $hitty capitalism practiced by Eastern Europe in the inter war years made Tito into a Small Case Communist, Tito was the most market minded of all the Com. Leaders. After the war Stalin tried his best to trip up and assassinate Tito but never could (Stalin was absolutely power mad, he wanted to be the Communist Boss, this is one reason the Soviets and Communist Chinese had a bad falling out, Mao didn't like the way the Soviets looked down on & talked to them. it even erupted into gunfire at one point).

I served with the 1st ID from 2013-2017. History and heritage is a huge part of the Division. I was there for the centennial and a few of my friends got to be in some of the Normandy anniversaries they’d send people over to be a part of. It’s truly an honor to carry on that legacy

It was Jews that began the Partizan resistance movement in Karlovac, Croatia during WWII. The movement grew until they were the victors of the former Kingdom of Yugoslavia under Josip Broz ‘Tito.’
