@49jubilee see, I partially relate. My hair is thicc when shrunken but when I wear braids/twists I can let it dry over night and it depends on the products I use 😅 Aunt Jackie's curl la la basically takes two days to "air dry"(I use a dumb amount per twist) but other products dry quickly. But when I was relaxed, it took forever to dry my hair - face palm - no one wanted to do it

My hair literally dries as I'm conditioning it. My hair is thin and 4b/3c. It sucks sometimes, but I'm learning to love it all over again.

Have you seen your eyes? The universe glows from them... Have you seen your beautifully melanated skin? As if! Have you aeen that beautiful smile? The cheekbones? Your ancestors are screaming “ we parade this earth through starpuppy” I know it’s frustrating. I lost a lot of my hair during my divorce, cut it off and sang “thats what *wigs* are forrrrrrr” Your hair is truly you. I love it!

Most high end hair products cost that much if not more. If you want good ingredients you have to pay. No one is taking advantage. I used to work in product development for L’Oréal. We have to stop being cheap when it comes to our own people.

you're not being forced to purchase it though and there's a product in every price range...most products by the conglomerates are actually cheap. From my experience, it's the black owned brands that are busting heads which makes since considering the trails and tribulations black start ups have to go through...not understanding your complaint. Nobody can take advantage of you when purchasing the product is 150% optional.

So many complain that natural hair is pricey and that is because they buy from certain companies with high prices and they promise magical results and people are still complaining about their hair not growing because no one wants to admit proper hair care practices are way more important. Even Giovinni has good ingredients and prices are great but no one talks about them because they aren't black. You think that black person business going to pay your rent when you are short? You think that black owner going to pay your hospital bill and college tuition? That's why so many are struggling with hair because they can't afford to buy that 18 dollar curl cream so their hair goes without and suffers💯 It's the same thing with people living in the hood that buy the latest Christian Louboutin item when they could have spent it in moving out the hood 🤔 You don't have to prove anything to anyone. Use what works and what is in your budget. It's coming to point where women will be walking up to one another saying "what are you wearing in your hair?" and you say "I'm wearing Cantu" and even though it looks good they say "oh, girl that's bad for your hair, go buy this $20 curl cream, it's expensive but good" just to look good. But yet many people commonly ask why their hair ain't growing when it's because they use what other people use just to fit in and not what actually works as well as healthy hair practices such as manipulating the hair carefully and trimming to maintain healthy ends.

AnastasiaLUVSU Nono. My hair has been past my breast for about 3 years. But it’s so fine that it doesn’t at all look large or full when I stretch it. When I left it alone, it would look the same length the whole time. It just isn’t full because I have fine thin hair. Now I’m just wearing my hair short since I cut it below my ears.

I got teary, this hair issue has brought me down so many times but I want to love myself and be happy

I dont envy people's hair, I enjoy it. I miss my hair. I got sick and I lost it in 2016. Well it still has not grown back (well most of it lol. ) But I grieved it and released it and I am ok with that. I have my wigs that will work for me. Dont envy ,people, makes you miserable. Life is shorter than you think. I learned that the HARD way.

Sorry to hear about your hair loss and I'm glad that it is growing back.

Speaking of getting scientific, make sure you figure out your hair porosity that is the key to figuring out how to take care of your hair. That hair typing system doesn't help us with hair care just identifying curl shape and it isn't even good enough for that. Anyway, amazing video as always you are a dope, beautiful, intelligent and phenomenal woman fr.

I refuse. My thin, fine hair, my stretch marks. Can't do nothing about it so I refuse to put myself through that suffering. Its hard enough, you know?! I got stretch marks from puberty. I was always small, but it happens I guess. Got them across my butt and thighs. Don't worry about them, just think of them as cool thunder strikes or cute tiger stripes and you'll be good. (And they didn't hurt my chances at getting a bf ;] ) Scars are a beautiful thing, they're proof you've survived and conquered whatever struggle came your way.

yeah because the natural hair community just doesn't do a good enough job of representation for ALL hair types. The type 3s and type 4s should separate into each of their own communities cause clearly the whole natural hair community thing just ain't working.

@@imani7979 I think they're all readily doing it and the 3's and 2's and 1's are looking down on the 4c's for whatever reason. To say it bluntly The natural hair community really puts hair "the less black" it looks on a pedestal. Also, there are some who shame black women for relaxing, texturizing their hair, wearing wigs weaves sew in's, etc its rediculous. A black woman's hair is always her crown no matter what she does to it it's hers and the natural hair community needs to accept that. The natural hair community was also originally for black girls but now all "women of color" are claiming it. Us black women and black girls need our own space that's built on OUR standards not the rest of the worlds', it was made for AFRO- HAIR so it needs to be for AFRO-HAIR.!

Fireyblaze I have 3b-c hair and I’m fully black and I completely agree. The things I see praised in the natural hair community are: 1: looser textures 2: super long hair 3: extremely thick hair with high density (like they got 3 peoples head of hair on their scalp. Anyways when I look up natural hair on KZread the first thing I should see is black women with type 4 hair who actually created these movements. But instead I see other hair types being more popularized and watched. I used to do this too because of self hate. I’d want looser hair so I’d watch hair tutorials for hair that wasn’t even for my type. But anyways things need to be divided.

The only were on a pedestal is because we put the work and get results which the 4c can do but spend too much time crying on how it's hard.

I have hair envy, and I have curls that are considered “acceptable” by mainstream beauty (thick, 3c hair on white skin). 4c hair deserves so much more love, my sister constantly compliments my curls while hating and straightening her 4c curls, it breaks my heart seeing her go through the same cycle of insecurity I went through and I can’t be a role model to her

Thanks for shining your light on us thin haired girls! So true that external validation is important. There is almost no love for thin hair on the internet. All the video’s about how to make thin hair look thicker, but only a few will appreciate their natural “thin” hair. It was a major insecurity of mine, but im getting better at accepting, loving and taking care of the hair i have! Also, taking care of it made it more easy for me to accept my hair. honestly i am soooo insecure about my short hair. request: could you do a video on the beauty standards of long hair vs. short hair. and not only that it urks my nervs that even most men prefer long hair and think natural short hair is ugly. i think this should still be talked about especially in our community.

Hey Beautiful. Everything you said around 5:40 about thin hair not being common or visible in print ads, commercials, Instagram, etc, and it being difficult to love due to unfamiliarity can be said of a lot of things, including dark skinned black women. Where we at? Why is there a light skinned or racially ambiguous woman on the arm of every black man in every movie? Let Hollywood tell it, dark skin and afro hair only comesl in the male variety and all black women pop out light skinned with type 3 hair. Like black people are peacocks and peahens -- different colors for different genders lol. Yes, external validation is important. Seeing yourself in the world in a positive light is important. But when the people in charge of maintaining and perpetuating those beauty standards continue to exclude your hair type or our skin color, be the change. Girllllla... I lost all my hair during postpartum which played a huge role in my postpartum depression. It's just starting to grow back but... different from before. It's much thinner. I love how soft it is now but I was so ashamed of it I chose to wear a wig for 8 months no matter how bad it looked (I've never worn a wig in my life and am a terrible braider) instead of showing the world what was going on with my hair. I really needed all of this and I'm so glad I found your channel. Congrats on 100k and I'm putting the Issa meet vibes in the universe for you too!

i bet, you also have attractive qualities that they dont have. focus on that while also improving your flaws, which you think is your hair. lets always remember that our differences make this universe beautiful, and there is no beauty without diversity.

1. You have such a beautiful voice. 2. You're right. Why worry about something you can't control or change. 3. I just told myself that my features and hair were specifically designed for me so i have to make the most of it. Not easy but it helps.

I'm a 55yr old woman from UK and I have the same problem, it's great to see your videos and know that I'm not alone. Most people represented on youtube have thick hair complete with perfect edges. I have neither. So you're youtube videos are a breath of fresh air and also very funny. Your British accent and singing are also pretty good. Keep up the good work!

Polly hey I'm British too! I've been fully Natural for all my 17 years and when I say Natural, I mean: No hair extensions or added hair No straightening No dyes No wigs No weaves I only started blow drying every few months when washing! It's so rare to find other British naturals haha

I think I have thick 4c hair so maybe this video isn’t for me but I’ve always thought girls with thinner 4c hair were more privileged because y’all hair is definitely more manageable and can be manipulated and styled way easier, not to invalidate the struggle but it’s something to love!
