Turmeric is indeed very useful for joint pain (humans too!). BUT it has to be ORGANIC turmeric. They've done research on that. For humans: combine with a sprinkle of black pepper for stronger results as well as fat.

Dr. Jones I was told by a health food store, freshly ground black pepper needs to added to help Tumeric it to work. I make Golden Paste. Recipe to follow. Good for us aging seniors too.

@@vegeta420z6 try a different oil then so? Maybe organic sunflower oil for instance? Or organic olive oil? A fat from meat if all else fails? Or just simply organic butter? I used to do it with butter myself. Works fine...

Yes its great stuff Tumeric Dr Andrew ive used that for years on my dogs for years it works well ,I use it with with the coconut oil fat or picnh black pepper in thier food 🙏✌️🐕

I've read black pepper helps with curcumin absorption in humans and curcumin can infer with effectiveness of some chemotherapy drugs in humans. Is there any interference of effectiveness or contraindication if a canine is on a life-long low dose of prednisone for idiopathic hemolytic anemia???

I used Powder Vitamin C to acidify my cat's homemade food. My cat had struvite stones as well. Never used any other additives or expensive special diet food from the vet. When I don't have time to make the food I only feed wet can food.

Is there any meds it interacts badly with

my dog doesn't like turmeric and me as an Indian woman , haha, I don't know if she is allergic to it but she suffers from fluid poop with blood it it or mucous after consuming turmeric, I tried it so many times with different foods but no, I have then an additional problem to resolve , what else could I give when she has pain

Hi Dr. Jones just wondering when you say give the turmeric along with fat…. Do you mean something like olive oil or coconut oil? Shall I be mixing it together with that or maybe throw some peanut butter in there? I understand peanut butter is not good for the dogs, but I mean just a little to throw the turmeric taste off?? Make sure the peanut butter does not contain any artificial sweetener, it is toxic to dogs, it will kill them and some peanut butters use it. "Xylitol is extremely toxic to dogs." Xylitol is extremely toxic to dogs. Even small amounts of xylitol can cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), seizures, liver failure, or even death in dogs.
