Dr. Jones I am so very grateful for your channel and your determination to help fellow pet parents. I also have your book and love it very much. You have inspired me to become a holistic veterinarian and wanted to ask how could i find a good school to become licensed in the field? My dog I believed was poisoned from something she grabbed outside. She was violently ill. Constant vomiting and diahreah. I used your remedy of Famotidine and unflavored Pedialyte and was able to nurse my dog back to health! It was rough dealing with the vomiting but I know if i hadnt of given the Pedialyte, i wouldve lost my dog. I also followed these remedies with the organic flax oil (i bought cold pressed and high grade peppermint oil) You have truly saved my dogs life and i couldnt be more grateful I did end up taking her to the ER. They took xrays and found nothing. When i told them i was giving her Pedialyte and famotidine they told me to keep doing it! They tried giving her an antibiotic but I told them i would just use Olive Leaf Extract and they tried to BS me by telling me they dont have any evidence of that working. I ended up spending $635 for NOTHING

Does the flaxseed oil work? My dog had gardia parasite the meds they gave him flushed him out it has been 3 months he still has diarrhea I had him in a diet and soon I put the dog food in it he gets diarrhea, my question is if I gave him dog food with the flaxseed oil will his stool turn hard again, I can’t keep affording hamburger meat for such big dog, he is only six months old German Shepard I just want to know if it worked thank you

Thank you for so generously sharing your expert help and excellent help. Chronic diarrhea has been such a frustrating problem, but I'm feeling quite hopeful that the 3 suggestions you made (and which our local vet has never mentioned) will change that! Natural remedies make much more sense to me than an Rx that can have side effects and is fairly expensive, especially when the chronic diarrhea in our Scottie comes back again! We'll also try the elimination diet you mentioned in the video about treating ear infections (our other dog's chronic problem). Your suggestion that allergies can sometimes be the source of both issues is another thing that has never been mentioned by our vet. Wish we lived close enough to you to have you for our bet, Dr. Jones!!

@@gabbyferreira4786 it helped for sure, but ultimately the best thing we found was a product called Lower Bowel Stimulator by Natures Sunshine. Twice a day, fixed him up within 1 day…but we gave it to him for 5 days to be sure. Solid poops

@@gabbyferreira4786 Hello! We’ve been feeding our dog Blue Buffalo puppy food, moving to the Blue Adult now…he’s almost 11 months old now. He is a Siberian Husky mix. Yes LBS is part laxative, but there is other ingredients in the mix that help firm the poop-as needed. We gave our pup 1 tablet in the morning and 1 in the evening. After researching the different ingredients, this is the only thing that worked for us. Again, only as needed. He had firm poops within a day or two. Occasionally he has had loosey poops, so we just gave him 1 tablet or a second at night, and all better the next day.We still give him a tablespoon of pumpkin after his meals…his dessert! Lol All the best to you, we know it can be very frustrating, but will get better!

I tried to find the answer in the video - Peppermint Oil 2% dilution (10 drops to 1 TBSP Flaxseed Oil) per ???? lbs - You gave Pipster x1 TBSP and I'm assuming as per the dosages earlier in the video, he is about 40lbs so that would make it 1/4 TBSP per 10lbs = 7.5ml (1.5 tsp). Is that correct? Earlier in the video, Flaxseed Oil dosage recommended was 1/2 - 1tsp per 10lbs and you gave Pipster x1 TBSP. I bought Peppermint Oil specifically because of your recommendation and I am sitting here with my little elderly dog (14 years old) about 10lbs (5-6kg) that has an upset tummy and I can't figure out the dosage. I'm assuming then based on the above that the average of 1tsp of 2% diluted PO in FSO would be sufficient? I probably should make a small batch that I can use over 4 days as I honestly can't figure out the single dosage. Forgive my many questions! Thank you again for this great video.

I have a fairly new to me dog and she gets diarrhea often...I think from stress, but also because she will eat ANYTHING when outside (or inside!). I have had good results with psyllium husk and also probiotics, and it works quickly as well as being safe to use daily.

Hello, I have been adding water to the dry kibble. I have heard about how dry kibble can be and how the natural diet of dogs and cats has a much higher water content, so I started adding water to their kibble. Is this a good idea, or is that something that can cause diarrhea?

Tried numerous natural remedies for 4 month old puppy, vet gave him antibiotics which I hated. It worked but came back two weeks later. Decided to try cannabinoid oil, and after 0.25 ml a day for a week, he was free from diarrhea. It will be my go to now. Should have known better than go to a mainstream vet, so now I know

When my dogs will not drink flax seed oil I use a little bit of milk that works everytime or I just wait awhile and try again all day if I have told

Hi, my dog is a maltese dog, 15ibs, 7 and half years old and he is suffering from diarrhea( have been giving him probiotics, but not resolved) , not always but he sometimes defecate in solid form. I want for him to defecate normally. My question is: what are the measures of those products for my dog's weight? And will start giving him flax oil, colostrum and peppermint oil. Maybe there is something else like underlying problem, but these are natural remedies so aren't going to have any possible negative side effects. Thnx so much. Hi- may be a food reaction, possible parasites, or IBD. Start with food change, bland, easy to digest. Then consider a good dewormer ( ie panacur

I'll try your natural remedies, maybe you can tell me the measures for my dog's weight. Also I have stopped giving him dewormer, even when I have given those products he defecated like I mentioned before. I have stopped because there are so many side effects and giving coconut oil or chamomille was the best natural option. Is it wrong stopping those dewormer products? He mostly vomit after eating those coz has sensitive stomach. Thnx so much for your reply. Waiting for these two questions? I think peppermint extract is for cooking, usually artificial flavor. Peppermint essential oil is pure oil extract from the mint plant. Highly concentrated.

I have a 5yr old GSD, Eagle, who was diagnosed with Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis 2 1/2 weeks ago. He was successfully treated with antibiotics. However, his stool is soft and has not yet returned to “normal”. He acts; drinks and eats fine. Is there something I can give him to help harden his stool? He is already on a daily dose of probiotics. Thank you for any suggestions you can offer.

Too much probiotic can cause soft stool also.. try stopping it for awhile.

Jenn only when she have diarrhea ok. Make sure you provide lots of liquids so she will not diahadretes.

Do you have any suggestions for gas in dogs? I have a 13.5 put mix at home that started having smelly farts about a year ago. He has heart disease, hypothyroidism, and arthritis. He is on a lot of medications for these conditions which I suspect is possibly causing the gas. He is on pretty good food and has food allergies so I give him Acana Duck and pumpkin with healthy grains. Thank you for any suggestions.
