As a PharmD, I recommend you melt the ingredients in a double boiler. Less chanse of scorching. Also, I'd add calendula oil. It prevents scarring and is antibacterial. Also, the calendula flower is considered GRAS.

I am studying aromatherapy and yes use a double boiler or you can use a Pyrex glass measuring cup with a handle and place that in a appropriate size pot that the Pyrex glass measuring cup handle can rest outside the pot so you can remove the Pyrex from the water pot when it’s finished melting and pour easily into the container you will use. heat the bees wax first as it takes the longest to melt, then, shea butter, then the other oils so the other oils do not get over heated. Use a pot holder on the handles to move the Pyrex cup to pour in the container you will use.

I made this cream via your recipe. I love this stuff and will be making a larger batch tomorrow. Our German Shepherd Loki has had some serious itchies, food allergy related as per our vet. He fought me tooth and nail when I first started using it, now he knows it gives him relief so he lets me lather it on with no fuss. I also started giving him the Bee Propolis recently hoping to get this somewhat under control. About a month ago I started making his dinners from scratch too. All and all I have seen a difference, Thank you Dr. Jones we are grateful to have you and your videos!

First, try a species appropriate raw food diet - pray model. Our last dog got diabetes, so I did a deep dive into what are dogs supposed to eat. Dog’s DNA is 99.999 wolf, what does a wolf eat? So I fed our next dog a raw food diet since he was about three or four years old. He transitioned to best dog heaven at 17 years of age and virtually had no sickness or physical problems, not even an ear infection, and he had floppy ears.😊❤🎉

I got all the ingredients and made some last night and it melts great, and I let it cool just five minutes before putting in the jars (because it was solidifying in the pan if cooled 15 minutes). It seems very effective on some psoriasis dry areas in my face. This works! Sort of solid, but liquefies on contact. Now I just need to label the jars. Also, once set, it can come out of the refrigerator. It stays set. Christmas gifts?

Dr Jones, I don't know if you'll see this, but I wanted to let you know I made a batch of your skin anti-inflammation cream, and put it on one of my dogs who struggles with hotspots. It was just the beginning of one, but within a day or so, the skin had returned to normal, still looked red but it was smooth, and he stopped chewing. The recipe made a little under a cup (8 oz), I poured it into two 4-oz mason jars with the plastic lids, labeled one for humans and one for animals. It is a wonderful hand cream for humans too, quick absorbing but leaves just the slightest feeling of protection, not sticky at all. Really great for cuticles and for healing wounds. Thank you!

I was excited to run across this video and I bought everything I needed to make it. I love the smell of it!! Unfortunately, my dog has both allergies and seborrhea sicca. This ointment actually made her scratch more and I had to promptly wash it off with oatmeal and aloe soap. I couldn't figure out why this happened, so I did some research. Turns out that sunflower oil and coconut oil both actually worsen seborrhea. In fact, any oil with long-chain fatty acids and oleic acid will worsen fungus infections of the skin and seborrhea. The article I ran across recommended using MCT oil instead of regular coconut oils and Squalane oil instead of the sunflower oil. I have yet to try it, but figured I'd post this just in case there is someone else with a dog who has seborrhea or a fungal skin infection predisposition. More and more I'm learning that not everything "natural" is also healthy. It just depends on all the details.

Poor baby was itching so bad... vet initially thought it was allergies, but never figured out which, then thought it might be his thyroid, etc, etc, etc... after spending close to $2,000. on vet and meds and blood tests he got better and started growing back from the bald spots. However, the steroids made my finicky eater voraciously hungry... But now it's starting all over again. My gorgeous, fluffy Samoyed looks like he's molting! Can't go through that again! Put small amount in the palms of your hands, rub together, apply to dog's coat working it into the skin and using your fingers to get down to the skin going down and then upward like a rake, this helps for longer coats. Then I take a brush and brush down ward then upward, this really helps to work applied solutions toward skin by going back and forth with a brush. My dog gets scared if I spray him, usually because it's cold, so I just spray into hand rub together then apply like above.

i make my own as well, for dogs i add in camelina oil, and a couple drops per large jar ...oregano and rosemary oil, ....i'm making one with colloidal silver being stirred in after it's cool enough and not yet set tho.

be very cautious with rosemary oil, some dogs can't tolerate it...I learned the hard way as during covid I couldn't get the regular food...20 mins after using a similar food she had a seizure...this kept up and I knew it had to be something different in this food...it had rosemary...stopped giving her that...and the seizures stopped.
