The Frey Life I love a pink peachy sunset! Mary silly question probably but why can’t you use this medication then have a blood transfusion after? Doesn’t the good the antibiotics do make it worth it.. are blood transfusions troublesome for you? I’d love to no. Hair looks wonderful ❤️🌡

My sister has a Platelet disorder and has literally had her platelets couted by "hand" using a microscope, because they stick together in her case they sometimes need to be counted with a microscope. Sending prayers ❤❤❤

Mary, firstly let me say that I absolutely admire your courage and spirit each and every day as you battle your chronic illness. I enjoy all your videos, mainly for the medical stuff, but also because I think you and Peter are an incredible couple. I have one comment for something you said in this video: you said your medicine was "broken". I know what you meant, and I know you know how medicines work, but medicines aren't really "broken". It's just that the way our bodies work, the way systemic circulation works, and how cell transporters and protein receptors are often present in multiple types of cells and thus multiple organs and organ systems can be affected by a single drug. Pharma often gets a bad rap for "side effects" (among other things), but as someone who is working on pharmaceutical research, I can tell you truthfully that no one in pharma likes side effects. It's the #1 thing that we work on in drug formulation, but it is VERY complex, with many considerations to be had, and of course, every person, healthy or otherwise, will respond differently for genetic reasons. As you said, there's a reality to everything, and the reality of medicines is that they are not perfect, but often the benefits outweigh the side effects. So I just wanted to put this out here in case anyone else took a slight double take on what you said. But thank you for your daily vlogs - I can only imagine how tough that is for you. Best wishes in your continuing journey!

Your hair looks great. I love sunsets and take lots of pictures of them. I ordered the new bundle yesterday. It was exciting to know mine was in there somewhere.

Glad it's sunny where you are. We have had 2 snow days in a row. Snow has been so bad my mum could leave the village she lives in for 2 days. They had snow drifts all night, the snow is so fluffy that it's in the road up to her waist. Definitely looking forward to spring

When I was pregnant I was sooooo sick. I threw up every day all day and my dr gave me a supply of handy little disposable emesis bags (the kind with the ring at the top) they had a dispenser and when used they could just be tied off and tossed. Might be something worth looking into to keep at your bedside for barfy mornings!

Thank you for the sunset. I don't get to see them in person any longer. it has been several years now since I saw one. There are no windows on the west side of my apartment and there are too many risks for contamination via the toxic perfumes, laundry products and air fresheners for me to go outside to watch. I love seeing them online, though!

Your spleen issues could contribute to low platelets. Sometimes they hoard platelets. Good question for docs

Does anyone remember the early 2000s when we had something like Kinder eggs? I think they were called Wonder balls, maybe? Same concept, chocolate with a toy inside. Those were awesome!

There’s Kinder Joy which is kinder egg but they have the toy and chocolate separate.

Yes, your workroom is so organized, it looks like you even has more space even after you put in more furniture, but Mary, you must like still sitting on the floor ha ha! I hope that you had a successful visit to the hospital and got the answers you need. I’m jealous that it’s mild enough for you to be able to open your windows. Cos the whole of the UK is currently being hit by 2 storms “The beast from the east”(that is actually the name of the storm.lol) and “storm Emma” it’s been snowing in my part of rural Lincolnshire for 3 days now, and it’s SO COLD!! The winds coupled with the snow means that here it’s currently a “feels like/real feel” temp of -11C. Some of my day Ive spent laid on the sofa wrapped in my favourite blankie trying to keep warm as the cold is a seizure trigger for me. It’s been a battle trying to convince my 2 wee furbabies that they have to go outside to go to the bathroom. But they don’t like it cos in patches of my garden where there are snow drifts the snow comes to just above their belly’s. needless to say it’s only been quick toilet breaks today as I’m worried that they might get poorly from the cold. I hope everyone in the comments section are keeping themselves as well as they can do. 💜🐶🐾❄️⛄️🇬🇧

It's interesting because Australia has kinder surprise but when I went to South Africa its kinder joy like the one you showed! Never understood why Kinder did it until now!! Thank you for the insight xD

I saw the eggs at Wal-Mart one day and was so happy to have something close to what you guys used to open on your vlogs before. Well that just sucks that your platelets dropped more. If you do have a transfusion is it dangerous also and is it at all painful? I think not doing the vest was a good idea. Kinda risky to avoid that but maybe peter can do some resp therapy manually in lieu of the vest? Having had MRSA is just another blow and i hope that med resolved it at least for all the problems it caused too. Sending love and wishes for no lung pain and no extra bleeds while you sort it out. I was surprised you managed at the salon with the chemicals in most salons. Last time I went I immediately had an asthma attack and didn’t put two and two together that what the lady was using was making my lungs mad. I finally had to take coughing breaks and asked for please no hairspray. LOL. Your hair looks beautiful and always does. It has a really pretty natural color. And yay for plants growing. You can start basil and tomato seeds now indoors.

I know Mary doesn't usually share her exact numbers, but I'd love to know where her platelets are, too! My daughter has a genetic disorder that causes bone marrow failure, and it would be interesting to know what levels cause her CF docs concern vs. my daughter's hematologist-oncologist. Before my daughter's bone marrow (stem cell) transplant, they'd let her numbers go super low without transfusing, but that was her "normal" at the time. They say when certain numbers are chronically low, the body adjusts and it doesn't cause the same symptoms as it would in a healthy person who usually has normal levels. They also didn't want to potentially allosensitize her through contact with other people's HLA types unless absolutely necessary.

TaliyahMC Yeah, I’m used to my platelets being high so normal is so weird lol. It can take some time for bleeding to stop for me, but I feel so bleed-tastic when I’m “normal”

I really hope your platelet count looks(looked) better on the test, I hope it was tied in with the antibiotic and that as you get further away from it you'll see better results. Antibiotics can be frustrating at times, my dad is allergic to a long list of them and since they stop being effective over time it really limits his options. I worry that he'll get seriously ill with an infection and won't have a way to fight it off. Love the hair cut and those leggings are so darn cute! I'd love to know where they are from.

I SO agree on the kinder eggs!! I’ve had the ones from overseas and was so excited when I saw them in my local grocery store. Then SO disappointed when I opened it 😕 womp womp 😑 You hair cut looks so nice, the layers are awesome.

Tysm that u guys make this videos. I also have CF, and right now its not going well. Tuesday i get my plan for the mycobacteria. I do have a feeding tube in my belly like u for like 3 years and i get a PICC line or a port a cath ( Tuesday i hear which one i get ) I also have a fungus but i don’t know if they gonna treat the mycobacteria first or the fungus. I am 14, and i had a lot bacteria en funguses and a lot hospital visitis and sleepovers ;) If i am going to get a Port a Cath i am so happy that ur videos shows how it goes! I also have other deseases next to CF like diabetes. And my gut doesn’t work good and i have a lot of problems with that too! Tysm for all the videos and stay strong xx lots of love from The Netherlands!

What helps with your spleen pain because mine is only mildly elevated and hurts bad sometimes

My mother in law had a condition that caused her platelets to drop and that made her nauseous she eventually had to have blood transfusions to keep them up!

Here in the Netherlands we have all the Kinder stuff and I LOVE IT. I eat the eggs, buenos, bars all the time!

There are some kinder surprises in the US now. My roommate had one when she was in utah.
