My One Acre Pig Farm Comes Full Circle

Check out Abundance Plus: bit.ly/abundance-plus
My feeder pigs have rotated through 1 acre of woodlot. They are clearing the lot to make more pasture for the ruminants. We will cycle them back through for the last 15 days before their harvest.

I fell in love with your family 7 years ago. I’ve seen 99% of your videos and pay for Abundance Plus when I can. Ima 70 yr old homesteader in Alabama, been doing this lifestyle almost as long as Boots farmed. You continue to amaze and impress me; it’s your spirit I love, so quick to laugh. I wish I could visit you and talk about life. ♥️

I’ve been skipping videos lately for the same reason. I’m thrilled for the Rhodes family’s new adventure launching Abundance+ , but a simple mention at the end is enough. I can’t afford a new app/subscription service right now…..someday I hope too. For now, I’d like Homestead content to inspire me through my first year homesteading. I do love your family videos and have binge watched so many .

A ram-pump hooked up at your reservoir would pump water up hill to your pigs and you could put a float valve in the pig waterer so you don't have to fill it, set up an overflow valve to run the excess back to the spring

IBC Totes 300 or 275 gallons placed at the top of hill would provide water to your animals. You can fill tanks from spring or use ram pump. I have been selling IBC Totes for 3 years now. You handled a tough day well. You should have got your son to put electic motor in Sally. Congrats on pigs.

you need to log out to back 40 and do like 3-4 big paddocks - almost 10 ac each - have native strip buffers and get a forestry survey done so you know what you are working with - even get 2 est - your fields look great but having some big paddocks way back will give you strategic reserve and more rotation options while helping manageability - less work #free fence posts #log pile #heap

Does Mr. Brown have a pair of boots or does he just have shoes? Maybe if he had boots like his dad and his brothers he would wear shoes? Just a thought. I grew up on a farm and I did not wear shoes very much because they hurt my feet because they were too small and they were three dollar tennis shoes in the 50s they called them kids but they were the cheapest, white, $3 tennis shoes, & then we had Patent leather shoes for church… 12 children in our Family plus mom and dad… The boys got boots because they were allowed to work with the cattle in the machinery and the girls were not. The older girls were in high school and they were involved in 4H and drill team and the younger girls cutting and even though I was in band because of my lungs, I still only got white tennis shoes because that’s all the school could require of the students. We were the poor kids and even the cousins had better shoes and we did yet my father gave his paycheck to my Uncle’s Wife due to illness most of his life, & They got Kool-Aid in pop and went to the roller rink and we did not but we lived on a farm with homegrown beef and pork chickens and about 5 acres of garden and canned and frozen food and never went hungry and my mother cooked the best food and baked goods and their mother didn’t so they came to our house do you every weekend and part of the time through the week as did my grandparents on my Dad’s side on the weekends, & multiple church people… My poor mother everything was made from scratch without a dishwasher except us kids or a washing machine and dryer except the old fashion washing machine with the ringer eventually and when I was about 12 or 13 one of those Maytag ones and then we hung everything out on the line. Long after I was marriage she got a dryer and the washer but80’s … my grandfather on my dad side brought her own gold Westinghouse? Refrigerator that was frost free in 1970 and she hated it but us kids loved it since we didn’t have to clean it out all the time the freezer especially. Anyway back to shoes, if Mr. Brown needs a pair of boots I’d like to offer to buy them some could somebody please send them to my email address if this is the case and same with a little girl. I’m not about to give one to the other and not just one. I saw that happened to my children after abused case or divorce and to my grandchildren and one family after the mother abandon the two boys at verse that favor the oldest one. I raise those boys from seven days old each of them but the second child was from not my son but we took him back anyway and loved him as our own but she did not. We gave him everything as we did the first child if not more at times to make up because she made it so obvious the older was favored. I won’t do that to any child so please let me know size and color for the little girl if preferred and does it have any. And size for the boy. Please don’t make them too big I know parents like to do that thank you so much thank you ever so much and if I have offended you I apologize ❣️❣️

It bothers me how you just walk by your dog, who guards your farm, and you don’t speak, no pats; I just don’t understand that.

I don’t think the kids or the dog get enough love.

You get a 10 minute snippet out of a whole day! I’ve seen all of them hug on their dog and kids!

I hate how this dude let's sick animals suffer through illness without real drugs. It's so he can tell everyone that all of his farming practices are all natura, but Idk. Hopefully he's not that way with his kids.

Check out the vid where he lets all of his sheep die. I dig everything they do, but at some point it makes sense to take advantage of modern medicine. I'll try to get a life. I'm sure you're better than me in every way.
