Jonah gets a lot of deserved attention as the oldest and he is so hard working, smart and inventive. BUT, there is something so adorable about Josiah. This is another kid to watch, the quiet one’s will always surprise you.

You and The Beautiful One have done a wonderful job of raising the chitlers. This is what drew me to your channel from the beginning. Watch them play and explore and be real children. Was such a beautiful thing in the modern world. Now watching them grow up and be so inventive and hard working people. It really has been a inspiration to me in the ability of parents to teach and love their children naturally without all the craziness that the world says we need. God bless you and your family

Justin please address in a video why you choose to move eletric netting every day as opposed to building at least some permanent fencing to reduce work load while still being able to make daily rotations. Keep up the good work as I know your helping thousands of people

part of regenerative farming methods.. the land gets a rest and the grazers who by nature poo and pee where they eat , so less parasite pressure on them if you mimic nature kee the grazers moving.. pasture is more productive from being fertilized and grazed and the animals are healthier.. way more cost effective...

He d have to build 8 separate paddocks as that is how he envisions the rotation. All rotations happening as they’ve cleared the area but not dug it up as pigs will do. After each rotation he ll clear that area of old trees, fallen branches, trees and any brush the pigs don’t eat. As he does this it ll be easier to set the wire. The first setting takes the time because it’s wild land at that point. Once the pigs go through he wants to have that area for the cows also to rotate through. A permanent fence just isn’t feasible for the way he sees the future use. And he doesn t move the fencing every day. It’s every week or so. Today s video just showed that move

I personally did this with perm fencing and use it for multiple different animals and find it alot less labor intensive while completely suitable for different animals . I see no way that this would restrict use . Time is the most precious commodity you have on homestead and with your kids. I see no benefit from. Repetitive work.

I know you won't read this but you talk about cutting yourself and all them braches in there while your clearing. So you might want to think about carrying Henry through the woods. He doesn't understand ducks move while you walk through the woods

My people lived in the Carolinas before the Europeans came to this continent. For thousands of years we lived the land. Grew the land. Raised families on the land. Land connects us to our ancestors. We , the Indigenous peoples of this land belive that we are just keeping it in trust for the next 7 generations. I like how you keep the memories of your ancestors/family but also plan for you children and children's children.

As you get older your skin is thinner, and if you are on blood thinners or daily asprin, you will bleed easily. Lots of Vit C helps strengthen your blood vessels. Your pigs are improving the hill sides! Good work!

A place where we have a house, that is now a vacant home for holidays is in my father's family for over 200 years. It's not large like what you have, but when i smell it, I can't help but wonder about all these generations that lived there, used it for so many different crops and fruits. I will keep it, upgrade it and pass it on one day. I wouldn't sell it even if they offer me 1 million dollars. I'm that serious... :)

I'm in Minnesota too but we have clay. We have a farm at the top of a bluff near the Mississippi River near Red Wing where they make Red Wing pottery because of the clay. I'm so glad you've got the good stuff.

I truly admire the connection to the land in which you sow. That is something my family does not have, I grew up in town and always wanted to be on the land. Fortunately through some serious hard work and dedication I have raised my boys out of town on the land. Actually justin one day a couple years ago I stood to stretch my back from the fence repairs I was doing and watched what I believe to be your bus go by when you were on the great american farm tour.

Yup, that's how we are connected! Interesting! I never had a chance to visit the land my grandma and grandpa were born and lived on....now I wish I knew....but that land is not in the family anymore some of it even before I was born. A little part they sold it the rest was taken away from them. 😞

They just recently got her. She's being kept there until she's fully acclimated to the sheep and property.

One day they'll get it, and appreciate it for a lifetime. They will teach their children that appreciation, and that will last an eternity

Funny Justin. You say we have 20 minutes and the boys think go back home or go make ice coffee! You think chainsaw or tractor mower deck to clear for the pig fence! Beautiful roast Rebekah! Piglets are so cute and none of them have died? So glad that Jonah could fix the pig feeder. He was using his Leatherman, cool! Great, put some of the animals up for sale. I know Polly is stunted in growth but what kind of milk will she give, A2A2? Autumn was Phyllis' calf right? Can she be your new milker? Phyllis is getting old. Autumn is Studmuffin's calf so I guess that would be a problem. That's cool that you feel close to your dad Boots when you are in the woods making the paddocks for the pigs. Now you're taking Boots' place! So wonderful Justin. Thanks for this.

So about a 10th an acre per paddock,, 10 pigs. Plenty of food besides. And 2nd time through you may see some grass as the silvo pasture develops. Healthy, clean. Comfortable for the pigs.

One day they'll get it. I walk these 140 acres that my Daddy, Granddaddy, Great GrandFather & Great-Great grandfather walked and I pray that one day my child will get it. We don't farm the land anymore & everyone tells me I should just sell it but my feet are planted here. Now my brother, child and neice can do what they want when I'm 6 ft under but as for me this land is the very life that I breathe and as long as I can pay the taxes we're keeping it. I would love to do something with it but my husband & I both have physical health problems and can't put in any really hard work anymore.

There are young people who would work it, if you could find them. I don't know how that might work, finding salt of the earth people. Ones that a 10 or twenty year lease would get them interested. It's a major problem over the next 20 years. The more small farms and ranches saved the better. Maybe Justin will be able to interview someone on that.
