When I began quilting I was determined to only do one project at a time. That worked while I made quilts for each of my 9 grandchildren. After that goal was accomplished, though my mind could just explode with ideas. Currently I have 4 waiting for the quilting, several started, and the fabric for about 7 more waiting their turns. Yes, you are not alone on the green couch.

When I saw yours in a diff vid using solids with a splash of print ev so often I absolutely loved the look & I am doing mine all solid. Your ideas are always so inspiring & I am only 1 of over 150k who love watching & listening to you. Your family is beautiful & I am so happy I found you. 🥰

Ooooooh laying this one out is going to be awesome fun!! I recall seeing a rainbow quilt when mI was about 10, red in one color and violet in the other, simple diagonal lines of blocks working across the whole ROYGBIV. I hadn’t seen anything like it, it woke me up. 🌈 I used to gravitate to the sheets and bath towels section of our local department store, I just have always loved seeing all the colors. Your artistic ethos is so close to my own, though I have a slightly more modern bent abs you’re more courageous with color!! I just would have loved having a mom/mentor like you to teach me all the things, whereas I really had to teach myself everything more than the basics of sewing, cooking, baking, houseplants. My mom was just not into all that. She was loving and generous and encouraging in all the bigger world things, so I became a lawyer and high achiever. But as my life has gone on, I’ve always loved having my hands on fabric or yarn. It’s my home base. ❤

I did that in the early 80s. It became huge. Now I’ve got to decide which of my three children will get it. I absolutely love all your videos.

And I am thinking of all the scraps of jelly roll size pieces. I'm going to try this. Writing from Northern Kentucky USA. I love watching. I started a Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt with an extra round of 12 hezxagons, 30 years ago. I’ve been inspired to drage it out and finish it now. So far, there are 23 of them, and I need to stitch them together and see what it looks like. More fun to come!! I do also love your quilted dressing gown - how comfy! LOL 😍 I save my thick, wide or thin styrofoam I get from boxed merchandise and use it just like u. Save ur beach house waste corner triangles to use for a 2in square in a square block for a later dolly scrap quilt for Agnes. I started my young gr-children sewing about 3 plus yr olds using mesh plastic canvas, plastic needle and yarns and the both of us choosing a simple geometric design or other. We would sit together for quiet time handsewing, they make a secret/surprise birthday or holiday gift for Mommy that can be displayed on wall as is, or framed. ❤continue to be well. NM

Excellent advice from W.C. Fields, about children and animals. I think they only keep us around for our opposable thumbs. Oh sure, we can open doors and use the can opener, but they haven't any REAL use for us unless we're about to pay serious attention to something besides them. If there's a cat anywhere that is otherwise I suspect it isn't really a cat.

Kate, you are definitely not the only creative person who has more than one project going at a time. I have at least three to four ongoing. I look forward to watching this new project unfold.

Your new quilt will be stunning. All of us on the Lime Green Sofa have lots of works in progress. As I was watching this episode, I was looking at a few jelly rolls that I have, and to be sure, I am not a quilter, but I will make try my hand and make a bag or two soon. Thank you for sharing your making talents with us.

I love EPP. I do it at night watching the telly too. At the moment I’m doing a DWR QAL and starting a QAYG hexi quilt with EPP flowers in the hexies. When I used to cut multiple layers of shapes I use a pritt-stick around the edge to hold all the sheets of card together. You just put a tiny amount along the edge of each sheet so all the sheets are stuck together. Now I have a Cricut and it’s amazing. I can cut the papers and the fabric on it!

Can you cut more than one page of paper shapes at a time on the cricket? What about more than one layer of fabric? I bought one but I haven’t used it yet! Thank you. 🌷

I love this project. Thank you for all your tutorials. I am a nurse and tested positive for covid after my pt.was hospitalized with it. I was sitting here feeling sorry for myself and then you popped up. You have a calming effect on me.❤ Thank you for all you do Kate.

So lovely - I agree I can’t do subtle- rainbow sounds fabulous! Have a look at “ sew tites” - Little magnet shapes that hold the 2 EPP pieces together as you sew so your hand doesn’t get tired gripping them together

You could put 2 pieces together x 2 then you would have one long seam when you put them together instead of one piece at a time. Don't know how long it will take you but I couldn't do it. Hats off to you and your patience.
