When I read the specter changes and minion changes I got super hyped for the next league, not to mention Horror theme of this league looks super fun to me.

New unholy might opens so much cool things IMO. Right now I'm torn between carrion golem hit-based chaos convert (my favorite build ever in POE, with a new twist !), or Zoomancer poison (vaal summon skele with all poisoning sounds absolutely insane)

Skellington archers have always been something I would like to try yet never had a good enough reason to pursuit when there were so many better options out there but, with the changes, it'll likely be the first minion build I'll make when I inevitably make a minion build at some point in the league.

Considering this is necropolis league, I will be doing your zoomancer build. I appreciate your guidance.

Thanks for the nice summary. Still undecided what to start with, minions or trapper. Is there an overview of the tier definitions available somewhere? I.e. im interested specifically in Herald of Purity, but I am not sure what A tier is in comparison to S to S+. I know things can be subjective (mapping vs. bossing vs. allrounder) so it would be interesting to know how you define the tiers. Cheers and have a fun leaguestart.

Do you think poison bama Necro will be able to make use of the leech node? My rough testing says it might feel bad on low to mid investment .

im really interested in pure spectres. most fun minion build i ever played and variable depending on what spectres you have. currently debating wether to start spectres, poison hexblast miner or flicker.

What is the build coc Animate weapon? Any guide on this? Is that Simulacrum viable early in the league? (wave 20)

New Necro, both minion leech and unholy might benefit the playstyle of stacking minion numbers, if you have a dozen minions, reaching leech cap and wither cap will be very easy. Another thing is, pure minion chaos damage, means you can ignore %monster life as ES mapmod, which isn't a big deal before but now with T17s cannot be rerolled, it might just be, that's easily 80% more monster EHP. Severed in sleep might just be better in some builds than united in dreams.

What builds would you recommend if you're too poor for Zoomancer? The problem I have with that build is that the meta bone helmet is absolutely critical to get lots of power out of your minions, but Affliction has shown that it's so rare almost no one sells them and those who do are pricing them far and above my capability to afford it.

@@Nexielas while yes, this opens up a form of recovery for other minion builds. however right now would be a good time to unnerf/buff/change the baron. and i would wish it would keep the leech, just to not be forced into necro. what i meant with "change": ok, add a unique effect to the baron. whatever it would be.. no fucking slams. slams are bad. period. even flat "%phys DMG reduction for minions" would be enough for me.

@@Xaldin773 I’d like to see a sort of flat phys damage to attacks per 10 strength type thing. Molten strike zombie army guardian or something. There isn’t really something in the game where you’re a warrior with the minions. Or change it to +1 purity sentinels per 750str. Get rid of that shitty link ascendancy guardian has and make it something like, “increases and reductions to minion crit/crit multi apply to you at 30% of their values”

Hey man, thanks for the updates on the league. What do you think about SRS of Enormity popcorn? With the +10% more dmg and +20% more life on Necro it seems pretty busted, also fixing (kinda) the clear with ignite prolif since crits always ignite.

I played hit based enormity last league and while I loved the build, just keep in mind that transfigured gem has a nasty cast time. You'll need lots of cast speed to get rid of the clunk.

Is it confirmed that BAMA is definitely gonna be as good this league? Never played minion build before (except for arakaalis 3 leagues ago) and I wanna try BAMA but I don't know if that build uses any affliction spectres or anything similar that will cause issues

Baron Zombies haven't been around for so long. Do you think Baron Zombies Unholy Might could be a possible decent build?

I am highly considering playing Zoomancer or BAMA. This is my third league and have played Cold DOT & DD getting my void stones. How intense is the zoomancer/BAMA mechanically? Does it require super high apm or is it more relaxed? Was not a big DD fan as the 2 button style was not super fun for me.

Mechanically zoo is just stand and watch for the most part. The only real issue you’ll have is minions early on will die pretty easily too heavy aoe bosses before you get the medium cluster mode where they can’t die for 4 seconds after summon. Other than that it’ll easily do guardians and pinnacles pretty early. Ubers will take quite a bit more investment but can do them

Dom blow underrated. You can have vaal minions with perma uptime with soulripper. Its very worth the flask slot.

Same as Herald of Purity IMO. I played both as a league starter and both are so easy to get going. HoP may be one of the cheapest build to reach 2 voidstones on leag start tbh.

How do Zoomancer will be played without left-clic Molten Shell ? No more Front Line jewel ?

I’d say dom blow might be your best bet, it literally requires no gear to get things up and running.

Well, nice overview and conclusions. Im still wondering wether to pick necro srs and skele or guardian srs and skele league starter build. Last league I picked necro and my son picked guardian and he was doing much better then me concerning minion offences and ofc characters defences were not compareable. If srs has massively been nerfed rhen maybe try something else. The mage and archer skeles are not cheap to get when starting the league.. :) That spectre build seems too nice to try later on! GL to all poe addicts! :)

Aren't there many minions at S /high tier? If that was the case people wouldn't only play SRS?

why do u think bama necro has better defensives than guardian/pathfinder ? you cant use a shield+tempest shield + bone offering for easy high block&spellblock because you have to use a quiver, if you still use bone offering your missing like 25/25% block that u dont have and ur also missing on alot of dps from crit/attack speed offering. the only real thing ur getting is leech or am i missing somehting ?

with the change to unholy might, Iron mass has my attention for a skelly build

If the reaper of hordes and eviscerator worked instead of getting 2 horde and the eviscerator and not being able to use his attack command without killing the other reapers was the play it would make the goon squad a thing, two clearing reapers and a bosser you clicked. I was excited when I could summon them all and heart broken when it was a bait where it can't.. you can use the 2 horde and normal though.

if i am forced to do the league mechanic its gonna suck an may not even play this time it takes me 7 days already with work an life

I played zoo in guardian last league, it’s faster than necro, but slightly less dps. Also more button to press.

There are no really good guides afaik but you can safely start as a common Necro and farm the gem as soon as you get to the labyrinth and start using it because it hit like a truck.

what about the mythical drop zombie?

I've been baited 3 league now to try minions with new minion buffs and new builds but every time I did it the bait hurt me so hard i quit league when i got to maps.... never .... even with that new helmet the gear crafting and all the min maxing of a minion build can't compare to the lazzy meta we can all follow even if it's more expensive(not that minion gear isn't expensive kekw).

i would love to play zoomancer but i was always bad at crafting any minion item ...well any items xD ... and minions items are usually very expensive to buy so idk wtf to do .... :D

hope they bring back the 3.23 spectres so we can get aura spects again

Yes.

Arakali is still good for the cost, planing on archer chaos or bama for endgame this league, but with this much bama player the 84er 12er minion cluster will even more expensive than last league

they basically killed it with the removal of divergent dark pact. well to be fair it was good before then, but divergent made it so much better to play. with the buff to 8% and the second "buff" to 10% via quality, you just rip through your skeletons in seconds that it became clunky again.

It got absolutely wailed on this league. Last league was bad but not awful with losing Divergent Dark Pact, but it lost 30% more minion life which is 30% damage, and that was on the ascendancy so guaranteed really easy to access. On the other hand, tattoos being back gives easy access to a good chunk % increased minion life, so that's a small consolation. It's probably still playable but it's a far cry from its heyday.
