I think not going to the wedding is a smart idea. One of the biggest faux pas you can make is upstaging the bride and groom. It’s better not to come than to do so have a medical emergency. I also find it strange that she more upset than the future sister in law.

Story 1: The instant MIL threatened that they should move out, OP and her husband should have been planning where to move next.

Susan is pretty terrible Plus, some people don't want pregnant women at their weddings because they (unintentionally) steal the spotlight from the bride and groom.

This is all because the mother in law dosent want her children to have their own lives and believe that they should give all their time, attention, and money to her.

So.... everyone missed the wedding? Seemed SIL was a bit obnoxious choosing a wedding date so close to the birth of her niece. I would think with mom in rehab and SIL not coming she would push her wedding back until mom and SIL would be able to attend. But hey, these stories never tie up loose ends. They just jump from one calamity after another. The writers need to do better.

The fact is if the mil had been allowed to stay in the family home it would mean she had access to the accounts of the other family members and would continue to gamble . Once the mil loses access to the accounts of other family members ,she would need to accept that she needs help dealing with her gambling addiction and she left the family home once her dirty secret was out . The threats of kicking out her pregnant dil and causing stress the mil could have caused the death of her own granddaughter and she wouldn't have taken responsibly for her actions .

If Rachel didn't go, Susan would be angry for not going to her precious daughter's wedding. If Rachel does go (and either gets a lot of questions about her pregnancy or even her water breaks at the wedding) then Susan will be worse for 'stealing attention' away from sil.

To Susan: If you insist on putting your own daughter's happiness over the safety of your daughter-in-law, your son, and your grandchild, then you do NOT deserve to have any kind of family. You were just being narcissistic, self-righteous, malicious, and entitled.

Honestly the MIL literally need to back off and realize what's more important. Rachel and the baby needs to be top priority. The wedding is not as important as the baby's arrival I mean yes they are both important but having the wedding close to Rachel's due date is not going to be alright that was poor planning on sister-in-law's end!
