I have been a makeup junkie since I was 13 and I’m now 76. I like you have tried many things. My complaint of Kate is the fact that all light foundations seem to think you want a yellow tone🤨. My skin is not, nor has ever been yellow. I am beige and I do prefer matte finish which is even harder. I appreciate you reviews so much and your advice!

I’m 63 and have used make up pretty much every day since I turned 18. I love what make up does for me, enhancing my good features and diminishing the less good ones. I don’t understand why so many women my age and younger decide not to do anything about their looks, even having all the time in the world. You are very inspiring and I hope to keep seeing your videos for many more years.

I'm 63 I've been wearing makeup since I was 12, sometimes it was rushed, now I have no kids go get out and ready, and I can enjoy the process every morning. I doubt that will ever change as long as I am able.

I was talking with my daughter about makeup and retin-A yesterday, and she said, "How old are you now? 68? You're almost 70. You don't need to worry about that anymore." I was kinda shocked out of words (which is unusual for me). But it's not that I worry about it as much as I love skin care and make up. I have fun with it and it's one of my self-care practices. It makes me happy! And I just love you, I love your tips and your (should I say it) Joie de vivre!

Hi Patti. I have just discovered your KZread videos and just adore you! I'll be 70 this year, and I had completely stopped wearing any make up when I retired at 62. I have recently come to realize that I feel more confident, more youthful and more energized when I wear make up. It means that I have intentionally taken the time to care for myself. I need to love myself and care about ME as I do for everyone else in my life....my husband, adult children, grandkids and friends. I Googled "make up for mature women" and found you. I am so glad that I did! I want to say "Thank you" for your expertise, but more importantly for your wonderful attitude and caring manner. I wear my blush up higher too, because at 69 the apples of the cheeks don’t work anymore. We have to change everything as we get older.

I’m one of those older ladies that you mentioned that has recently begun to wear makeup. I used makeup in my 20’s and 30’s. Then I quit for some “unremembered” reason. Now that I’m 74, I’ve begun again and I’m liking it. I don’t use much, mostly eyes, but I’m finding that I often look washed out so I bought some blush to perk me up. You always look so elegant when you’ve finished your makeup. That’s what I strive for-elegance.

Love, love, love this video. At 76, I still wear makeup and always enjoy watching older women GRWM videos. Yes, makeup is a very personal thing, and changing frequently as I age. I am open to all and any new products or hacks, actually find them fun. Thank you Patti for your honest feedback on everything you show and demonstrate.

I’m 76 years old since April 1. My sister asked me why I bother with make up………now she’s complaining about wrinkles and requesting the name of my sea collagen, moisturizer and what ever else I take for supplements. She thinks I look younger for my age. Well, it would have been so much better if she started earlier. I am not heavy handed with make up but I do like foundation, shadow and definitely lipstick. Unfortunately I no longer have eye lashes (thyroid) so buying mascara is useless. Forget the false ones that I wore in my twenties! I tried. It it was hopeless. Anywsy, I do my best to take care of me. I encourage women to drink lots of water! I take Vitamin C, D, B Complex and Omega 3 . Eat your vegetables and fruit! As long as I have vision, I will work on my face! 😁

I have been fascinated by hairstyles and makeup since I was 8 or 9, watching my teenage sister put on her makeup. I went to cosmetology school while in high school and became licensed when I was 21. I still love makeup at 59, and had started to wonder if I was insecure and shallow, trying to 'hide' my age behind the makeup. But I finally realized I see makeup, hairstyling, clothing color and styles, nail shape and color and shoes as an ART. I love figuring out how color and shape can compliment each other on the canvas of my face, head, clothing, hands (nails) etc. I LOVE playing with color and shape like a sculptor or painter

I'm a ways from my 80's but after years of working on a keyboard I've lost the strength in my hands/fingers so a very long time ago I started using a nutcracker to open just about anything from the small caps on glue to the caps on salad dressing containers, as well as ketchup bottles,it gives me leverage and the nutcracker does the hard part. Anything with a bigger lid, for example jars, I turn it upside down and give the cap a good whack on the counter to break the seal. 😉

I also live in the sub-tropics, but in Australia, just at the entrance to the Great Barrier Reef! Your 'Get ready with me' video was the first make-up video I ever watched. :) I'm 71 & didn't wear much make-up as I've had a lot of major health issues, so I'm still learning about make-up. I'm trying to use it now because my face has changed dramatically over the last 15 years. I've had a palsy 'happen' on one side of my face, so my jaw shape has changed, it's caused 'dry eye' & I've also inherited hand tremors, so applying make-up is quite a challenge. I don't know what hsn is. We also can't buy Elf here, so I'm quite envious of you. :) How do you know what foundation colour to buy? What does the Primer do? I bought a 'supermarket' primer & I've also purchased several foundations, but I don't know what suits, what colour is best, where to place blusher, etc. Are you supposed to let foundation dry/set? I'm guessing this from what you've done here. Is it possible to buy 2 products online, try them, then return them? I didn't know you could do this. Can you guess that I'm new to online purchasing? Hi Wendy, fellow Aussie here from NSW. I took the liberty to answer some of your questions that may help a little! ‘I am sorry to hear about your health issues. Its nice to lift your spirits with some make up even if it is the bare minimum like I use! I noticed the foundation that is in the info provided is the brand Skinn. I use to purchase this through TVSN here in Australia it is a really good product, I use to love the primer in this range! ( Primer protects the skin and gives a better coverage of the foundation making application smoother and more even (easier to apply) it can also increase the lasting time of the product! You don’t have to wait too long after the primer before applying the foundation nor wait long after the foundation to dry before the other makeup as it just blends into the skin! Depending on the primer it can also have added benefits for the skin to nourish or hydrate. Hope this makes sense! You can call TVSN and they can guide you through the buying process, it really is simple they have many different products and brandnames of makeup and homewares. Returning items are possible if there is a fault with the product or if it has been unopened or unused within a specified time frame that they have in their policies. Matching colour to skin-tone isn’t that hard when you understand what y our undertone is for example yellow pink ect then what shade which alternates with the seasons! Hi,Patty,this is not on today’s video,but I have to tell what an impact you have on lives. I have just started going out after about 5 years. Between health and sadness. I was out wearing mt new black turban, my new foundation (skinn) and Elf primer. Stopped dead in my tracks by a lovely woman,came right up to me and told me how BEAUTIFUL Iooked that day. Hi Patti. Thank you for this great video. I ordered the mascara trio you showed in your last video from HSN and I love the Benefit "They're Real" mascara. I can't believe how much it thickens and lengthens my lashes with only two coats. I've tried so many mascaras and I just haven't been able to find one that I can tell any difference. As I've gotten older, my lashes have gotten thinner and this product is a game-changer. Thank you!

Jawline: carry the darker neck shade across the jowls in a straight line. This will give the illusion of a more defined neckline. You may want to use a highlighter on the jowls prior. Also, highlighter on eyelids and dark circles under eyes prior to foundation - go easy in crow feet area.

Dear Patti, you look just beautiful, your eyes really sparkly as always (no makeup for that!). The highlighter gives a nice glow in these days waiting for a bit of summer sun. Here in southern CA it’s been a lot of rain. I used to live in Stuart FL and always had my hair up! Patti, you may not feel comfortable with this, just thought I would ask. You’ve mentioned that you haven’t eaten meat in years and I imagine that’s helped you stay healthy and energetic. I wondered if you’d ever consider a video offering just an idea of the kind of meals you and your husband tend to eat regularly? I do like fish and eggs but really don’t like any other form of meat. My question is how to get enough protein? I’ve always had trouble with that as it is. I realize you might not feel comfortable if you think people would take it as dietary advice. Hi Susan…actually I did a video on that a few years ago. I'm not vegan but a vegetarian which means I can eat dairy and eggs. Jim is not a vegetarian and cooks all of our meals and somehow he makes it work! There are lots of protein sources so it's really not difficult to get enough. I do not eat fish or as I usually say, “I don't eat anything that has a mother!” P

Beans!! They are full of protein as well as tofu I have been vegan for 33 years! No protein deficiency Its very hard to get protein deficient

I want to share with you what I found out this week, Patti. My eyes began getting red discoloration around them. I had an eye appointment, and my doctor said it was from using eyelash serum. I’ll not be using the serum any longer. The doctor said it will go away eventually when discontinued. Wanted to share with all. You look beautiful as always!!

Yes. Maybe it’s the camera but her eyes don’t have dark circles but appears to be orange circles almost like eyeshadow in orange base.
