I’m in my 30s but I too have noticed a massive need to change my make up than what I used to so easily seem to do when I was 21. I look wrong like whatever I’m doing lately is just wrong 😑 I’m also over watching tutorials on perfect skinned 19 year olds it’s boring to me now. I love watching tutorials on 40/50/60/70/80s for myself and also my mum, so much more interesting & inspiration x

I like that you don’t talk down to me. It irritates me when young makeup artists talk about techniques that have been around forever like they invented them and I’ve never heard of them. Well, I followed your directions, went to the reunion, and got so many compliments on how I “hadn’t aged at all!” HaHa! I’m 68 and certainly don’t look like I’m 18, but I did look fabulous!! @@lisamcdonald2877 I have a VERY long bucket list and so I always have told myself that “older” is both relative and subjective…. If you had sadly died at age 40 then “middle-aged” would’ve been 20 yrs old. And it’s also very subjective since LOTS of people think they are “too old to _____.” Fill in the blank… I’ve never seen snow in my entire life but if I’m 70 and feel healthy then I’m gonna make a snowman AND go sledding. (Which, unfortunately, probably means my middle age is 35!!)😂😂😂 Thats my plan anyway and I’m sticking to it! Peace and love ☮️💜

Ok so I’m sitting on a stool in front of my mirrored wardrobe doors one draw pulled out with my iPad resting on my clothes watching pausing re watching your tips and by Jove it worked. I need to work on my blending but who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks right. I have hooded eyes and a lot of space between the crease and my eyebrows, please any tips for this situation.

@@Michellee970 start slowly softer tones you feel comfortable with. I do get what you are saying. I went from a redhead and embraced my grey hair. Nothing that I did in the past suited me anymore , so I put it on wash it off some epic fails lol I keep trying though.

This is the best technique for my 55 year old eyes! Been doing this for a year and it’s a game changer…it’s excellent, and I can do it so quickly now. It’s such a great look and elegant…The contour to the nose was an epiphany moment..Ty Wayne!

I have looked at every eye makeup tutorial under the sun and this is the only one that has made sense to me. I’m 59 with hooded eyes and this application works!!!! Thank you 🙏🏾 so much!! I’m a happy woman right now!!

If someone had said "this will make you look twenty" when I was sixteen, I would have been ALL over that! Heh. Apart from that comment, this is interesting and I think I'll try it. I've struggled with makeup because my already hooded eyes have gotten much more so (thanks, time and gravity). This seems a lot easier than trying to create a distinct cut crease. EDIT: Okay, I tried this. It's brilliant. It lifts the whole eye area and it's SO much easier than creating a cut crease, which I have always found fiddly, especially with how mobile the skin is around my eyes these days. This is just PERFECT.

I haven’t commented in about 2 years. I was so worried about u. Things seem better if not perfect. You are a wonderful man giving of yourself to others through your gift. It’s ok. Wayne's technique on covering up baggy eyes is second to none! even when i dont do eyeshadow, that is still a game changer! it was an oldie but goody lol! thanks Wayne!

I'm 32 and have always gravitated towards this style of shadow. I'll try different things and always go back to this. It's how I remember my mom and the Merle Norman lady teaching me how to do my eyes. It's the most flattering on my eye shape and the quickest easiest way for me to do them. I think it's the most universally flattering style of shadow.

Imitation is the greatest form of flattery and many youtubers repeat what you do and all say how much they adore you! I personally love coming to the source because your personality is irreplaceable!!!! From a 62 year old, thank you for helping us look our very best! Muah! 🥰

I had to watch again! You're brilliant, Wayne, really! It's such a simplistic and logical approach to shadow placement but there's many who don't explain it this way or I should say there's many who just do not follow this technique. I absolutely love it and really thank you so, so much!💜

I only just discovered your channel. I’ve been practicing this look with what I’ve got. I didn’t know what hooded eyes were until 2 years ago. Now at my 55th birthday there’s no question that I have to do my makeup differently. I’m even thinking some of those eyelid strips would help immensely at this point. Do the same.but with different colors like insted of perl use light purple instead of gray a darker shade of purple same idea but with different color palettes

Thank you! I tend to shy from eye shadow, you’ve intuitively touched on my challenges- how to clean up, conceal the under eye and dark corners after the color application. Love the simplicity of no shadow primer, using highlighter and contour on the eyes for a more harmonious color palette. I am having fun playing with basic false lashes too... you make it look so easy 🙌🏻

I love that Wayne addresses some of the challenges makeup lovers face over a certain age. At 48, I love makeup more than ever but I'm finding a lot of the techniques I've relied on just don't yield the same results as they used to. It is a whole different ball game at this age as textural changes and skin laxity change the way makeup set on my skin. It is such a pleasure to see techniques for my age and beyond! Just one more reason to love Wayne Goss and his products!

This is exactly how I do my eyes. Mine are VERY hooded and this is the only way that I can do eyeshadow on them and the reason I have so few eye shadows. The only difference is that I do not apply that darker shade on the outer corner because I have an additional problem, more hood over the outer eye and also dark circles, I always look tired and that would make it worse.

I do mine really close to this as well. I do feel like I have a bit more lid area from my natural crease to my brow that is difficult for me most days…although I’m my own worst critic…lol

Same here! I always felt better doing that but I had never heard anyone actually teaching that! The more traditional way of applying eyeshadow makes me look quite tired.
