Don't just throw away those chicken bones! Place them into a crock pot with some water, dry bay leaves, peppercorns, salt & a cut up onion - cook for about 4 hrs on high or on low overnight -- makes the best chicken stock for soups or gravy!
@animerlon
29 күн бұрын
Throwing away bones is such a waste. I get a rotisserie chicken 2-3 times a month & save all the bones, then boil them up every 2-3 months. Once the stock is done, to save freezer space, after removing the solids, i boil it down so it's very concentrated & then freeze it in ice cube trays. When frozen, i transfer to a ziplock.

I do that with the fitted sheet, but to make it easier to place the top sheet evenly across the bed, I fold the top two corners inside out so the center fold can be placed down the center of the mattress. No more moving around to get it centered.

I’ve folded my fitted sheets this way for decades. Then I broke my shoulder & had to get a replacement. I could still fold my fitted sheets, though it was a challenge. Then we changed from a queen size bed to a king size. I’m 5’1”. Between my height, shoulder & king size sheets, I gave up! 😂 Now I just take the sheets off, wash them, & put them back on. Distilled white vinegar works wonders for urine smells. Depending on if it's a sofa vs something that can go in washer might have varying results. For our dog or kid stuff I'll do a wash with vinegar, pretreat with vinegar if really bad. If that doesn't cut it then I wash again with a heaping scoop of just baking soda in washer, pre soak cycle.

All great ideas. For your child that loves grapes (Like I Do) have you tried freezing them. Place the loose grapes in a freezer bag and then move them around so they lay in one layer. When I worked in a nursing home patients are usually given a shower on certain days. Obviously if you are trying to get them up and ready for the day you need to clean them up first. We kept a few cans of shaving cream on the supply cart and used it in place of soap to get your patients bottoms clean. Just be careful not to get crazy with it or you’ll be forever getting it cleaned up. If you are taking care of a loved one at home I hope this tip helps. If you have the time and desire, you can freeze the carcass until you collected enough chicken bones to make a stock/broth. Just boil/simmer the bones in water for a few hours, strain, and freeze the broth in an ice tray. Stock is anywhere from $2-$4 depending on the brand. Yet, its so easy to make and it makes me feel less wasteful. Just some food for thought and your belly! 🙂

Shaving foam works very well for cleaning upholstery. When my children were little and spilled or smushed stuff into couch cushions, I’d foam the cushions, work it into the fabric with a wet rag, let it dry, and then vacuum it a few hours later.

Sticky labels! I learned while I was in the hospital that “adhesive remover wipes” work great! They used these to remove the leftover stickiness from my bandages and I’ve found they work great removing sticky anything.
I think I’m gonna take my mop and literally mop everything in my house after watching this video. My bedroom walls, my cabinets, and any other flats surface at my house! I am actually looking forward to this! Ty

to me, thats the only reason to fold them 😂 so it looks neat for massages.
You can also take a bandaid off by letting a warm wet rag sit on it for a few minutes. Peels write off. Or in the bathtub or shower.
Cracks me up that people think these hacks are NEW!! I can officially say that none of these gave me any better ideas, but I do love that people are commenting with even better hacks! Nice teamwork folks!! 👏🏼
Another washing hack - hang ur pants upside down by the legs. If you put the pegs across one side of the leg hem you won't get awful peg marks BUT hanging them upside down means the thickest part - the waistband & pockets) are the part flapping in the wind so they dry much quicker. Also, if you have pants that are quite thick material (like my husband's work pants) & the pockets take ages to dry or are always a bit damp, hang the pants inside out as well
If you have glass exterior door use rainX on exterior side and will decrease rain spots
I love your hacks! As far as putting sheets and towels on a carpet, if you wear your shoes in the house, there is ecoli and chemicals on your shoes. I worked in the hospital and never wore my shoes in the house. I would leave the soles in the sun. Some nurses wiped their shoes down with alcohol before they left the hospital.

If you just ball it up it works too. I sometimes spray a bit of water in the pan then smooth out the parchment ball
You folded that fitted sheet the hardest way possible.. There is a way to fold it in less than half that time, and so much easier.. Lay it out, fold all the side in about one foot and make a perfect square, then fold it the way you fold the flat one.. Put it all in one of the pillowcases.. Easy peasy lemon squeezy
OMG Wetting the parchment is such a good tip. Thank you.
I just noticed the silverware marks on my beautiful plates and was so sad about it. Can't wait to try this! Thank you!
That's how I fold my fitted sheets, BUT when you hang them on the line to dry hang them like a U shape, so one edge on one line then other edge on the next part of the line (the 2 outer lines of ur typical 4 sided square clotheslines as they're obv the longest, plus being hung over the 2 lines makes them dry quicker). Peg ur sheet corners at each end, then when you get ur washing in you can fold the corners into each other as you take it off the line & it stops ur sheets getting all creased - so beautiful & smooth when you put new sheets on ur bed!! A trampoline is fab for folding the sheets as you go, esp if u have pets & don't wanna fold ur sheets on the floor. Also, I fold my matching duvet cover & pillowcases with the cases inside the folds of the duvet. When you've folded it & are about to do the last 2 or 3 folds, put ur folded matching cases inside it before/as you fold the cover - you never lose ur matching cases!
I use shaving cream to clean the intial gunk off my outdoor grill-slather it on all over, leave it then wipe off with either paper towels (if it's really bad) or microfiber towels. Then I rinse off and wash the grill parts where you cook (so it's safe to cook food on with no residue). I was skeptical at first but it worked amazingly well and smelled so good.
Oh my gosh! I didn’t know any of these hacks except the fitted sheet one, and the way you bundle afterwards is new for me! Would love to see more of these!
Wow that fitted sheet folding was crazy and time consuming.. I just half and roll my fitted sheets.. works great..takes seconds and they stack like rolled towels .

It takes less than 1 minute to fold a fitted sheet that way, once you’ve done it just a time or two. I’ve folded them that way for decades. For me, it’s worth a few extra seconds to be able to crawl into nice smooth sheets.
The parchment paper hack is the best! I need to remember that.
I appreciate your work on folding the fitted sheet. But to be honest with myself, I’m not gonna bother. I try to fold, it doesn’t work I get frustrated and I put it in a blob. I can even make that blob look folded :-)

I spread my fitted sheet flat on my bed, then fold the elasticated edges inwards so I am left with a smooth rectangle. This is easy to fold neatly, and no wrestling with acres of material.
I loved, loved, loved seeing you fold your sheets like I do! Once you master the fitted sheet folding it takes no longer to fold your linens than if you struggle doing it all the time, it minimizes wrinkles and folding the fitted sheet and pillow cases in the flat sheet makes it easy to make a bed because every item for that size bed is contained in one bundle. I know many people have no desire or care to properly fold sheets this way and stack them neatly like you did, but it’s not just about an aesthetic look it’s about not have a jungle in your linen closet to dig through or fall on you as you look for the right items to make a bed- I also know folks who only keep 1 set of sheets for each bed so they don’t have to fold the sheets after laundering- each to their own I guess! Thanks for the tips.
Kallie, you are the only person who has ever successfully taught me to fold a fitted sheet. I found that video on your channel a few years ago and it truly changed my life! I had tried several other videos before yours, including Martha Stewart, and they all sucked😂. YOU are the Martha Stewart of folded fitted sheets!

There is also a hack, but I cant remember exactly how it goes, but when making the bed, if you start in one certain corner of mattress, put corner of fitted sheet on that corner, guarantees you'll be putting the sheet on correctly everytime....instead of trying to fit it on, just to find you're using the wrong side of your sheet...... (OR.....am I the only one that struggles with that??? ) Sound familiar to anyone???

Fantastic hacks of which some I have never done! The only one I did know how to do for decades was how to fold a sheet. Thanks for sharing.
Those sheets are bundles of joy! 😊
You can also handle parchment paper easily by wadding it into a ball, unwadding it, then placing it where you want it, no water necessary. I love the cereal box hack!

I usually roll my towels but I love the little added spa part. For my sheets I also put them together, the only thing is I don't fold my pillowcases. I just put them in half lengthwise and lay them down on the fitted sheet, it just seems to have a few fewer creases, but I enjoyed your video. Nice job.
