I’ve been doing this technique for 2 years now. I tried using concealer and found it looked WORSE in places I wanted it to work the most. So I just left it out of the middle part under the eye and powdered ever so lightly where you do. It’s great to know that my discovery falls under your “theory” part. I have been watching you for about a month and really enjoy each and every video. As a senior citizen I’ve found less has been more for quite a while and truly looks much better and more natural ( I’ve never had a heavy hand, though) I hope your younger viewers pay attention to the best skincare advice I’ve heard from a MUA- use good skincare routines because no makeup will look good on poorly prepared skin. We have so much more knowledge now about appropriate cleansing, serums, moisturizers, sunscreens, etc. and the science to prove it. You only have one face-take care of it. I’ve been in education for 50 years and I know a good educator when I see and hear him. That would be you.
Robert can you find a model with puffiness under the eye to show how you'd do this same technique? Maybe do a series of how to's with models of different ages, skin issues, and makeup concerns? You show and explain things so well and your accent just makes everything sound better.

I mix your way of doing concealer with how Wayne Goss pointed out not to go directly on the dark surface but at the edge and bringing it up. It's pure magic.
I’ve barely started watching this video but I have to tell you that I tried the dark concealer underneath to conceal and it worked like a CHARM! I’m light skinned with very dark spots. Using an orange colour corrector was necessary but I prefer a low coverage foundation. Your technique gives me the best of both worlds! No orange poking through, no ashy colours NOTHING! Flawless base achieved! 🖤🖤🖤

I used to do face makeup like how they showed in “popular” makeup guru’s tutorials and ended up always looking cakey (partially because I have dry skin so their techniques really dried me out). I gave up wearing foundation because of this, but thanks to KZread recommending me Robert’s video few months ago, I now have a good face makeup routine (it’s just concealer spot treatments since I realized I don’t need a mask of foundation and a tiny bit of powder to set in place). I thought I was bad at face makeup but I guess I was just doing unnecessary steps. Helped me save a lot of money too! So thank you ❤️

Robert, I just discovered you a few days ago. A few months ago, once it became clear that the YT "beauty community" is toxic and more interested in drama than makeup (looking at you, James Charles and Jaclyn Hill), I unsubscribed from EVERY beauty channel I had been following besides Wayne Goss. I'm so glad I found you because, in addition to your epic story times, you actually know how to do makeup PROPERLY. I've always gotten vomit in my throat watching "gurus" who are already beautiful with no makeup (again, Jaclyn Hill is a big offender) PILING product onto their faces as if they look like Quasimodo. And I fell into that habit of caking on foundation, concealer, and powder for a long time because I thought it was just normal! In fact, my grad school graduation pictures look awful because my skin was so loaded down with product. Which is all just to say: It's really encouraging to see a YT makeup specialist who actually knows how to effectively and sparingly use product. Someone really needs to push back against the bullshit trends and fads we see propagating not just on Insta and TikTok, but also within the YT beauty sphere. And it's even better that you have a great sense of humor and lots of hilarious stories in your repertoire.
Your videos have been the absolute best I've seen so far on just the basics in applying makeup
Finallyyyyyu Something that isnt about coronavirus 😭🙌thank god😂😭 amma watch the video now
This actually works. I would try different concealers in the hope they won’t crease but it was the application and the over use of product. Thank you so much for showing me the way ❤️

"I don't use powder under my eyes sometimes I will if I'm feeling like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" loved that.
Could you go through some eyeshadow tutorials focus different looks to do/talk about the difficulty in that look? For example, you could do a double cut crease and talk about how much time it takes, the hand positioning, etc.

This man deserves an award of a Grammy a master's in amazing advice
I tried this technique when I first heard it here and I've been using it ever since. I used to hate doing any kind of base makeup because it always ended up looking weird and not natural. So a huge thanks to you!
I subscribed before the 2min mark. I love your focus on the technical n how to aspects, THATS a tutorial, rather than watching a narration of how one applies their makeup. Im 43 n dealing with changing/aging skin and looking for real instruction on how to apply makeup that will help me navigate this. NEW SUB, THANK YOU!
Obsessed with this channel. Love that it’s so relatable!
I love how you explain the reasoning behind your methods 🖤
I have started using this technique but now that you've shown it more in depth. I will now try to master this. x
I need to mention that I really enjoy your intros! Non pushy, genuine and not as theatrical as other you tubers. So refreshing to listen to 😎🙏🙏🙏
That’s literally the best tip ever!!!! I no longer get caked creased under eyes thanks to you 😊😊😊
I love this technique! I started using less concealer shortly before discovering your channel and then when I saw your technique I thought "oh shit yeah, this dude knows what hes doing" lol. I have lots of fine lines and this has made me look much younger. Love your work Robert!
I have tried and watched a lot of concealer techniques . Nothing worked for me, as it would crease. I thought it is supposed to crease a bit . But with this bomb technique there is no creasing. Eyes look brighter , cannot thank you enough. You are the best. ❤❤
I tried this technique and some other techniques from other youtubers and i have to say THIS 👏🏼 IS 👏🏼 THE 👏🏼 BEST 👏🏼TECHNIQUE 👏🏼. Thank you so much for this!
Omg here I am doing my under eyes as you post this 💗 I liiiiive for your technique ily 😭❤
I would love to see your technique for winged liner for hooded eyelids. I’ve been using the bat wing technique (without realizing it was a “technique”) for about two years now but it doesn’t always come out looking great. I think a video from you would be sooo helpful with the way you explain things so thoroughly.
So nice to see techniques that both provide coverage and look natural.
LOVE the less is more approach, it's so effective!
I've been doing this ever since I started watching you, Robert! I found you through your Tati Beauty review. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this technique! It is LITERALLY a lifesaver for a mom of little children who doesn't get nearly enough sleep or time to do makeup. This technique saves time too. Since you're using lesser product, you don't nearly need as much time blending. Love it!

We need to be stanning this less is more technique and pressure more creators to not only show us their glam YT and insta looks, but truly realistic techniques like this. No more testing concealer using the giant V. Test it using the little dots and blend method or see how it layers over a thin layer of color corrector for those of us with genetically dark purple under eyes
Just found this video and i can say that is the first one for under eye cover where you don't need huge amount of the products and it looks so natural. People should look more natural, that makes them look more younger and beautiful like this man. So profesional presented information! Thank you so much for this video! So Useful! Can't wait to try your under eye method tomorrow morning! ❤️
I have lines under my eyes, not wrinkles but just how my eyes have always been. Your technique has helped so much with the creasing & caking in those little lines! Thank you!!
