Fixing your 1987-1993 ashtray console door has never been easier. This new 6 piece kit includes everything you need to fix the two most common issues, a broken pin on the console and a broken console arm where the spring attaches.
Begin this installation by removing the storage bin from the back of the console. Once the bolts are removed, life the console up and remove it out of the way and then remove the screws from the shift boot. You'll then want to remove the console and the ashtray door and the lighter.
Bill provides step-by-step instructions for assembling all pieces included in the Ashtray Door Repair Kit; once the door is repaired, you'll return the console and re-secure all bolts. Installation takes twenty minutes.

That ashtray door is not flush ........
Awesome. Thanks. Just picked up a 93. My spring was fine, that plastic part was okay. Just had the drill, put the little screw in.. And know how to put that Awesome. Thanks. Just picked up a 93. You beat Latemodelresteration, they didn't show you how to remove the concle.
I have a candy wrapper in mine to keep it closed lol
Works great except my whole bracket for the spring was broken off from the base.
