Steve, just so you know, in the hiking community you are considered a “trail angel” and the gifts of food and warmth are called “trail magic”. Those of us addicted to hiking will eat cold food at times and go to bed half frozen because we are too tired for heating things up! So God bless you for the kindness. You are a good man.

I vibe with that. I'm a suburban TX guy that goes to CO to ski once a year. I prefer hunkering down and making food for folks with some beers in hand. I do ski, but it doesn't last long. Cheers!

I think the reason steve is so popular is because hes... well just like us, he's "normal" for lack of better words, he aint trying to be fancy nor asking for likes and shilling his merch, i feel like if KZread wasn't a thing, he'd still be out there chasing that road. Steve if you see this.. your one of the most genuine folks out there on the interwebs, keep being you, because its what makes this all so special and what makes it work.

Anybody can do anything they put there mind to. You show us that. My mother's husband just passed away and I shared your community posts with her. It's helped her stay strong through this. I’ve never camped in my life. In the past my idea of “roughing it” is when the Hotel didn’t offer room service. 😂 Friends and Family would giggle if they knew I watched a channel about DIY camping, … and yet here I am - a long time Steve fan. I truly enjoy his content and I’ve learned a lot. And guess what? This summer I purchased a tiny travel trailer. Thank you Steve for giving this little old lady the courage to try new things.

Hey! What a surprise treat! Steve & Foresty are my favorite KZreadrs. Louie is a newer addition (I’ve seen just a few of her videos since I first saw her on Foresty’s channel, and she’s a great gal - she’s been a good hiking/climbing friend to Foresty). This video made me realize how shy Foresty and Louie actually are, and therefore I realize how hard they work to put out the great videos of their own. Glad y’all had a good time.

Strange reading the comments how much people loved the video. Long timer viewer of Steve and his wonderful content but I just felt this lacked a certain something. Admittedly I don't know the other two KZreadrs although clearly they are liked but I thought they didn't give Steve much in the way of content. Really felt they weren't interested and left Steve to it. Maybe it's just me but as always looking forward to the next adventure.

I don't actually watch that much KZread, but I have not missed a single video of Steve and Foresty over the years. Love following both of your adventures. You are like the Guru to these younger generation of youtubers now days. Haha. I may have to give Loui's video a chance.

I'm 45 and if I could do life over I'd have sought out a friend as kind and as considerate as Steve. What a great human being.

You never fail to please Steve, being so giving to Forestry and Loui. It appears that anyone who meets up with you always end up being enriched in one way or another. People would be so lucky to meet up with you. Wish I was one of them.

Well, it's not the glorious, natural beauty one sees camping behind a couple dumpsters next to a McDonald's drive-thru, but the Rockies will do in a pinch! ;) That was stunning scenery - thanks for taking us along!

Hahahaha. Was gonna say the same damn thing! Never expected this to happen, but it did. And it was/is very nice. I really enjoy all their channels and it was just great to see this pop up. I just can't express the kind of peace your videos have brought to me, Steve. I'm having such a rough day, and seeing you had a new video up really gave me a spark of warmth. It means a lot, buddy!

Lol “good spirits”. This was one of the most awkward videos I’ve seen in a while. Especially when they said goodbye. No handshakes or hugs or anything. Steve just seemed checked out the whole time. The man is emotionally hurting inside.

Foresty and Steve! Two of my faves, in the same video. What a treat!

I really liked the collaboration between Steve, Foresty, and Loui. It doesn't matter if Steve's "just car camping," it's nice to see him chatting with people around a campfire. It'd be fun to see a bunch of collaborations with various US youtube campers. If he comes to Michigan, there's a ton of great places to camp--stealth or otherwise.

​@@youssef16844 They're both very shy people. Quiet and reserved, not really naturally comfortable in front of a camera or groups of people. They have to work VERY hard at coming across as energetic and outgoing in their videos but that's not how they are naturally. The word standoffish makes it sound like they're unfriendly or something, which they are most definitely not. And I did not find them to be awkward at all. I think they did a great job.
