I've gotten back on the horse again and beginning my long camping trip. I've got the small camper hooked up and will be using it as a home base over most of the winter on a healing journey.

I think Steve could just spend a completely normal day at home, sleeping in a bedroom in a bed, cooking on a stove and most of us would be quite content. Let's face it. Half of youtube is just people reacting to things, not even really the things themselves but the people watching laughing etc. It's not even like watching paint dry. It's like watching people watching paint dry.
Steve. I retired 3 months ago. Leading up to that, the stress was incredible. Many a night I would wake up at 1 AM, unable to sleep. I would brew a Keurig and watch your latest episode. Your calm demeanor "brought me down". Then, I'd go back to bed for a couple hours...able to wake up at 3:30 to go to work. You carried me through the last year of work. THANK YOU! I introduced my wife to you (vicariously, through your videos). She and I just watched this. Welcome back. I (we) missed you, my friend. If you are ever in Ohio, look me up. I have enough wooded property you can stealth camp. It would be an honor. Tom

The minute I saw your hand with your wedding ring still on I broke a few tears. Hold your memories close. When I lost my husband 16 years ago it felt like my heart was torn in two. Overtime the jagged edges smooth out. and I learned to live with my loss. However, the hole is still there and will never go away. Please take this time slow and don't make any huge changes. I made a couple and now I regret them. Ive watched your videos off n on for the last year or so. I love to watch your adventures. Keep going and enjoy what you have!
Steve, remember this each night in bed as you wait to fall asleep. You have an army of people who have your back, are supporting you in times of need, and who generally enjoy your content. Just keep being you, and the rest will fall smoothly into place. We got you, and Jess with her beautiful energy embracing you to push forward and make the most of your time here. Remember this as well, it has helped all of us I'm sure on here, the person who has left us simply arrived first to the grand adventure. They haven't taken off "forever". They just arrived first. You are a little slower 😜. But we all end up at that Grand destination, together, so how awesome. For now, this temporary earthly adventure, make the most of it cause you/we can't come back and experience it again (or to pick up gear you left behind at a site )! Hehe. Love to you my/our online friend.

Your point about having lots of good memories on a particular stretch of road but not being able to revisit them yet really spoke to me. What struck me when I lost my girlfriend was how even the good memories become hard memories. You take for granted when you're making those good memories that you'll have them for life, no matter what. You don't though, they become painful memories too. Rooting for you, Steve. Glad to see you're back on the road. You'll see her again brother.

When I lost my wife, the roads we used to take to go to work, the grocery store, or our favorite restaurant became difficult to drive down at times. Not every trip on those roads after she passed was difficult, but when they were, it sucked a lot. Over time, the bad drives faded but never ceased. When we lose a partner, we lose a part of ourselves, and finding time to rediscover who we are, without them, is essential. I hope Steve is able to use this time to rediscover who he is now, without Jess. Not to forget her by any means, but to start a new chapter and carry forward all the lovely memories he had with her.

Good on you for hiring the private investigator and going after the trolls in the real world instead of ignoring them or trying to deal with them in the digital world. Hang in there bud. My wife of almost five years left me a while back and I've been devastated for a while and the pain can just be unbearable sometime. People who haven't lost a love like that they just don't understand, songs places, smells, objects, material things you find, anything can trigger a memory that can honest to God feel like it can drive you insane, and makes you feel like your hearts getting ripped out of your chest every time it happens. But it does get easier, time changes you, places change you, people change you, you can change yourself, as well you just have to really dig deep sometimes and realize that, life, no matter how hard it gets, no matter how bad it beats you down to your knees, is still worth living. You’re living in the moment, that’s what life should be about. Enjoy.
I'd like to thank you for allowing us to come along with you on your journey. Age and experience may change you, but your kind soul still shines through like always.

Great to have you back Steve, all power to you sir.Brett in Brisbane
It never gets old Steve. Never.
"Absolutely stunning... I'm craving a haircut". Left turn!!! Hugs Steve. I've lost both of my parents and several best friends. It's tough. Glad to see you out there. I totally understand areas and roads you're not ready for. I've felt that way after losing my mom especially. It is a sad feeling. Take your time and in time those trips will become a little less painful. There is zero timeline for grief and re-centering yourself.
Anyone else fighting back tears right now? I really feel for you and am so inspired by your spirit. I truly know you’re going to be alright and look forward to all the future adventures 🙏🏼

I lost my mom and had to cut ties with all my family because of how toxic they were from the situation, so for me this video hits more like setting healthy boundaries and realistic goals on what you can and can't tolerate when starting a new chapter of.life after loss. I think he's doing a great job. Grief is alot of work. I'm trying to do my part for our favorite camper by browsing quickly through the comments and reporting the bots i see. It's great to see such a supportive community, it would be good if each of us took a quick minute to scrub out the spam. They don't need to deal with that right now

Smoke or not, some of those mountain scenes were breathtaking …& I live in the mountains. So good to see you back again, Steve.
Kind of felt like she was looking down on you with those beautiful sun beams shining from behind the clouds. ☀️
Just had to pause 1 minute in to say i've missed camping with Steve so much! You are a happy pill to so many of us Steve, much love and appreciation!
I’m a 30 year old fella with some major anxiety issues (high functioning) and I don’t know what it is about your videos but they just really help me relax at the end of the day. Glad to see you back in the swing of things brother. Lots of love from Ontario.

Ditto. At night when distressed I place myself in a situation like Steve would find himself but in my head. Picture myself alone camping by a Loch, Total peace. Helps reduce the anxi
We are all rooting for you, Steve!!❤
I think I missed this video a year ago!! Nice surprise! I love those mountains, living in the flattest country on the planet!!
So glad you’re back Steve
Things were going as they always do on the home front. Suddenly, someone yells out, "Steve is back!!" Slight movement sounds as everyone heads for their computer/tablet/phone. Dead silence for 20 minutes. Now everyone is talking about how great it was to see you again!! My granddaughter comes to me and asks "Where is Garbage?" It is more than obvious that you have the support of this household. The "Hunker Down, thanks for waiting for me" at the end, made my eyes water. Super Job!! I am so proud of you!!

Winters coming in fast buddy, stay safe and be sure to gear up warm for it and don't overlook the importance of nutrition : I did it once, many years ago when good kit couldn't even match a lot of today's budget entry level stuff. I nearly paid a high price for my foolishness. God bless you alwaz.
So happy to see you in good spirits Steve. Keep your head up, can't wait to see where you take us.

I must of not caught it the first time I watched this episode, but you mentioned the scale and why you have it. Going back and watching reruns can be entertaining. Keep up the good work and go have some fun just for you and I know you're going to say Camping with Steve is fun. You got to get back on the horse that threw you.
I’ve never actually been camping, but I’ve been camping with Steve every week for the past 18 months. It’s good to have you back. Sending positive thoughts your way.

The excitement and shock I felt after weeks on end rewatching all the old videos then seeing this being posted, I don’t even know what to say. You’ve heard it all. You’re on this trip alone Steve but I assure you that you are not alone. Thank you for trying, thank you for getting back out there, thank you for it all.

Hey Steve, hope you are doing better! Love your videos! Life hack for you, your car you don't have to hold the key in the start position, you can just "bump" it into the start position and let go and it will start itself! Keep the camping videos coming! Happy camping!
Glad to see you back at it. You got 1 million people supporting and pulling for you. Much love Stevo.
I've never clicked on a video notification so fast. You have been missed. 😭 It may not mean much coming from a stranger, but I am so proud of you. I have walked loved ones through sudden losses like yours and I've seen all the stages. I'm just so darn proud of where you're at and where you're going. Thanks for keeping us along the journey with you. Safe travels! 💖
The man's enthusiasm for fresh buns is contagious, homemade Arby's tomorrow night it is. That aside - Steve, it is so, so good to see you out and about and we cherish you bringing us along with. Getting to see your drive through the mountains was just.. immaculate. I just did a longhaul solo trip 15 hrs both ways to & from Wise, VA, and while those peaks of yours feel more akin to Tonto National Forest than the Blueridge, it's still a certain sort of home shape.
