Maybe it's just me, but I don't like when the majority of the list is Collector's Editions, it feels kind of like cheating since the whole point of a CE is that the stuff it comes with is limited, but the games by themselves are usually incredibly easy and cheap to pick up.

Agreed. This should be renamed to most expensive collectors editions. The standard physical edition of Disco Elysium is under $22 at Video Games Plus right now, and that's true for many of these games.

I was shocked when I saw that. I got the same thing but with Shovel Knight at a Best Buy for only 10% of that price. The scalpers are out of control!

I agree show the standard editions that are expensive. We all kinda get CE will usually be expensive. Like blasphemous show the standard editions there worth 150$ or more. Why show CE.

You should do non-collectors editions. Also The Messenger special edition is worth a lot too. It came with a Katana. It's just super rare and probably not often retailed.

Missed the Rockman Collection

Even a regular edition of Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse goes for about $500. I really hope it gets reprinted someday! It’s a great game, but I’ll stick to digital at that price! 🤪

I don't buy CEs too often (usually only from EAS releases from Play-Asia) and all the games from this list I own, Ys VIII, Bayonetta, Bloodstained and Zelda I only have as standard editions.

huh, i own all of the LRG releases from this list from when i was getting everything they released and had a nest egg i was blowing through. and the Fox n forests LE I didn't realize they had jumped THAT high... I might need to sell some of them since I'm quite in debt atm...

That one is worth good money for sure on the second hand market.

I don’t think the Hollow Knight release with the plush is a code in a box. I think when you bought it, the code was printed on your receipt.

I have YS VIII but sadly it's the only box I've ever received that was damaged in shipping. Fortunately just the box was damaged, none of the internal contents but it's terribly unfortunate. I also have the Bayonetta Climax edition but I would never sell that, lol.

Bit of a bargain that! Especially with it's price now!

It would’ve been interesting to know what makes these Special Editions special besides a pretty box. One apparently came with a sword, one came with a plushie but no physical game, and the rest-who knows? Art book, keychain, OST, maybe that rarest of all items in these days of modern gaming: an Instruction Booklet! Anyway, I don’t have room for special editions, but I have some physical, a couple cheap digital, a very few I never heard of, and Ys on another system entirely. (Vita is life!)

I missed out on Fran Bow from super rare. It kills me to this day.

7:13 Cult of the Lamb has more than 1 special edition? I thought the Relics of the Old Faith edition I got with custom Joycon controllers & a Lambert plushie was the only one.

I dont have Ys VIII CE but I do have the Standard w/ the card pack unopened still 🤷 and I know a sealed Mario 3D All Stars w/ gamestop's preorder bonus will totally eventually pay for my retirement! 🤣

The very rare and expensive games are cool, but most of them they don’t have value to me. If any of this games are in my collection, it means it has very special memory in my heart and give me lots of happy memories, if I don’t have them it means this is the first time I hear about them, and even if I buy a 200 dollars games, it doesn’t mean I will like instantly. So, the most valuable games are the ones I was waiting the most and finally I have them, here are some examples: final fantasy 7/ 8, tmnt kowabunga collection, Mario 3d world. Because they bring me lots of memories each time I see the boxes and games in my collection.

Limited Editions are not fair. Need to see standard games.

The special editions make this a bit misleading. While those are the most expensive collections, they really aren’t the most expensive games. My most expensive games for Switch are: Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse Final FantasyI-VI Pixel Remaster Ikaruga Samurai Shodown Stranger Things 3 The Game

I can't believe my collector's edition of Stardew Valley from Japan is around $120 😬😬😬

I have Ys VIII Lacrimosa of Dana. Have not played it yet. Wanted the Hollow Knight Plush Edition, but that digital code in box was a big no thanks. I've got the regular edition of Blasphemous. At the time, I wasn't sure about going for the collector's edition, due to other pre-orders. Wish I went for it. Bloodstained Ritual of the Night I backed ages ago. Funny enough, haven't played more than just a demo they had at Pax East years ago. Forget what edition I got for it. I think they had several? I know mine was in a good size box. Also have a shirt from that Kickstarter for it. FF Pixel Remaster I imported the Japanese version, I think? Did not get a poster or any of those other things, but the import version I had does have interior art (just pixel characters all over it) for the case. I think the US version interior of the case was just blank white? Cult of the Lamb I have, but again, unsure what edition I got. Don't think I have the one shown in this video. Looked into it and I think I have the reserve edition, which came with a hardcover book, the game, an actual instruction manual, art card, OST Steam download code, and I think it is signed by the devs. Really kicking myself over Shantae and the Pirate's Curse Collector's Edition. I have the collector's edition for all of the other Shantae games, but some how missed the pre-order for this one. Occasionally I check eBay for it and have seen some listings over $1k USD... ow...

This list is trash. These aren't the most expensive games on the Switch, these are the most expensive collector's editions which is not the same at all! Shame on you guys!
