Morning Routine For Productivity - How I Start My Mornings (animated)

Today I will share with you my morning routine, which works wonders at keeping me productive. It might not work as well for you, as it does for me, since we have different goals and different schedules. However you might get some ideas which you could implement and tweak in your own routine.

When I wake up I take a deep breath, I smile and think about all the great things in my life. I don't leave any bad thought come into my mind, because I want to start the day with positive mental energy. Then I jump out of bed and I drink my proteins. I take the dog for a walk and then I train for at least 15 mins (every day). I take a shower and then I start my job. Last year I read "The Compound Effect" book and this helped me to change something to achieve a better life and to improve my job.

A great habit to add is a yesterday night habit. These habits make your mornings even more pleasant. For example: always make sure your sink is empty and clean before you go to sleep. This eliminates incentives to bugs and gives you a clean working space for the morning's breakfast or lack thereof. If you enjoy washing dishes, do not leave them dirty over night but instead looking forward to your lunch washing routine. Just like you fill your water cup every night similarly there are routines for the night which can give you a head start. Pack your bags, choose your clothing for the next day and set them aside, and even write a todo list for the next day. This all takes less than 15-20 minutes.

I was going to add a suggestion like this too but you said it all. I was surprised how many people have clean on their morning list. I want to wake up to a fresh start so before bed I make sure the sink is empty, clear surfaces (counter, coffee table and when I had children at home, pick up the things that fall to the floor), and hang up any clothes from the day). That way my starting position in my home is one of pleasantness and not the things I didn't do.

It's really a great routine. I tried a routine for 10 days and it's really very productive, unfortunately I couldn't able to be consistent. But again I'm trying to restart the same routine. My daily routine is. 1.Waking up (5 AM), adjust my bed sheet. 2.Brushing 3.Exercise for 20 minutes minimum 4.Bath 5.Start doing the hardest work in the first 2 hours. 6.Breakfast 7.Again start doing the 2nd hardest work in the next 4 hours. 8.taking 1 hour break for lunch. 9.Again start doing the minimal important things for 2 hours. 10.Taking 1 hour break for entertainment. 11.Again restarting the least important work for 1 hour. 12.Having Dinner 13.Doing 1 hour work and 1 hour for planning to next day tasks, progress, self talk. 14.Ready for Sleeping (9:30 PM) 15.Sleeping (around 10 PM) All this did in 24 hours only, productive hours are around 8 hours excluding breaks for every 25 minutes. I follow pomodoro technique. for every 3 promodoros, I will take 10 minutes long break. for 2 hours 25 minutes break. 95 minutes productive. It is really very effective, I tried my best to follow the same consistently but I broke it one time then it became worst routine again. So, again I'm trying to restart the same. I could able to achieve doing exercise everyday as a routine, now this is my 2nd goal. If we can do anything for 21 days, it will become our habit. I strongly believe it after my first success. I even didn't believe that I can make exercise as my daily routine in this life 😊😊😊 Definitely I should thank this channel and some other channels which helped me a lot to set these kind of goals and getting more confident in life and being more productive and being better than yesterday😊

The last bit is really useful, whenever I missed my morning ritual, I feel very upset, it reduces my performance a lot during the day which made me feel even more upset at the end of the day. I like your idea of saying someday we might not have the control over ourself but as long as we are consistent with it, then we're all good, it's the nature of life anyway, we should embrace it.

I'm always changing my routine but it's currently like this: - breakfast - washing the dishes / house chores - read - practice a little of an instrument I play (guitar or keyboard) - do small work tasks (I'm a music producer) or some quick study - start the most difficult task / which takes the longest and if possible finish it before lunch. If you don't finish, I'll continue after lunch. - lunch - More tasks that don't require as much effort - running, jumping rope or some kind of exercise (at least 3x a week) - Shower - rest a little - dinner - Spend time with family - study After that it's time to have some fun, play a video game, watch something on Netflix or KZread and get ready for bed. 1 or 2 hours before bed I no longer use my cell phone. I wake up around 9 am and go to sleep at most 1 am. Sometimes before doing the exercises I like to take a power nap or meditate.

Very helping ! Thanks ! I myself found out that, even though meditation during the middle of the day is a good break, it is more important that it is part of my morning routine, since it puts me in a good mood prior to interacting with other people. And/or before sleeping as well, since it helps me to relax and fall asleep faster.

I always have to eat breakfast in the morning, otherwise I'm starving during work and I can't focus. Especially since I'm on my feet all day, I need to eat. It's usually rice, some kind of soup, a protein (eggs or fish usually, but sometimes I'll have beef instead), and a vegetable or two. Ever since I started eating like this, I feel much more awake but not overly full.

I had a problem with snoozing/social media/staying in bed for long hours. So I'll wake up, immediately I make my bed. This tells my mind that bedtime is over. Count my blessings. Then take a short run (If i have time), shower, think on my short and long term goals, write down my tasks for the day, schedule my tasks, take tea as I listen to something motivational, then get into my day. Takes me 1.5 hours.

My # struggle in life is getting a good night of sleep b/c I wake up at night to pee, and that gets me to wake up in the am feeling very unrested. Apart from that, I’ll get up, pee (again), weight myself, have a 16oz water bottle, brush my teeth, get my lunch box ready for work, shower, get dressed n go. These are habits I’ve developed so I now do these things naturally. I enjoy working out, so this week I’ve added a new morning habit , which is to use my pull-up bar to hang on to and decompress my back for 1 min, then another 1 min to strengthen my abs. Anyways, my point is after watching ur stacking stacks habits I feel like adding more routine habits one new habit at a time. Thank You! Your vids are awesome!

@@shingalas actually nowadays that 'most import meal' myth is pretty much disproven. Check out intermittant fasting research (usually a 16 hours fast between dinner and breakfast/lunch). @@dimebucker2 There are many researches out there about different food, eating habits and fasting. All people are different so are the food habits & lifestyles. For many fasting on regular basis makes sense. However I believe that we should listen to signals from our own bodies. If we are thirsty we should drink. If we feel like emptying waste then we should go for it. Same logic applies to the food! Simple logic which drives all living beings :) PS: They also say 'an apple a day keeps the doctor away'. It is 3:30am and I am watching this video right now. A lot of people think I am up late, but that is not true. My alarm clock goes off at 2am. I go to the bathroom, and come back to bed to pray with my wife. It is a regular prayer list on index cards, and it takes all of 2 minutes. Then, I go out to the living room where I have my office, and I do 30 push-ups. (1st day it took me 7 starts to get all 30. Now, I can do 20, then 10) Then, I take a shower, and get dressed. I get a cup of coffee and go out front to look at the sky, the mountains, the neighborhood... Then I get to my desk and begin what I call my actual Work Day. I sit at my desk, and go through a different prayer list, which includes a lot of questions like, How do I take the next step in the book I am writing. This sets my mind to answering that question, which allows me to turn my mind (non-physical) into many workers who all go out doing all my research for me. After prayer, I read a chapter from Proverbs or Ecclesiastes; mainly to stay familiar with the voice of God. Then, I do something along the lines of continuing education. That typically means watching a KZread video on some business topic, or something somewhat closely related. Which is where I am right now. When I finish this video, my work day will end. Then, my free time begins. It is during my free time that I do most of the actual tasks that will build my wealth. For a perfect example, I just finished watching this video, which means my "Dark Blue Time" is over (I used dark blue construction paper to indicate this "work time" on a chart I made a while back). That means my actual work day is over, and my Light Blue Time begins. That was the color I used to represent my free time, defined as time nobody else has any claim on, direct or indirect. So, my alarm clock sounded to indicate the transition from Nighttime to Morning at 2am. Now, as I finish my Dark Blue work time (Mornings and Evenings are yellow, for anyone who might have been curious) I can move into my free time. I look at the clock and see that it is now 3:53am. So, within 2 hours, I woke up, did my morning routine, went to work, and completed it, all within the space of 2 hours. Now, I will officially declare that my work day is over, and can begin doing whatever I want to do with My Day. Today, this means getting back to the book I am writing. I spend most of my light blue time working on it the last few weeks.

Love your videos, I too found that setting myself a goal but breaking it down into short segments and then having a rest worked so well for me, I was so surprised by how much I got done during the day. I apply this to most of what I do now.

I feel often that all the hard work and effort I place in, no matter how much of a habit every day I have, I feel miserable that there isn't a pat on the back to show for it, something I could never give myself.

thanks for sharing this buddy! in my experience, 90% of our foods today can give us alot of mental illness and physical too, on that note, you can avoid gluten, and high fatty foods, cook some useful veggies with organic rice, and watch yourself fly after eating :D

I had a productivity streak of about a month and a half and yes i admit having a morning routine helped a lot... it sort of just made everything fall into place... and to a great extent it was quite similar to yours, but i wish i incoporated the glass of water and the daily planning cause i eventually fell out of routine due to morning fatigue.

I try to drink water, but sometimes I forget. I don't really notice it making a difference though. I'm surprised you don't eat at all though. I do like to eat a little something as I am more hungry than thirsty when I wake up although I've heard nothing, but positive things about drinking water when you wake up. I'll keep trying!

It won't make a difference right away, but after about 30-45 minutes. Our bodies can't rehydrate instantly. Good luck!

I Love what you got here! However, if you stretch in the morning be sure to warm up your muscle by bouncing on you toe first. Think of it like this... when you put a rubber band in the freezer (your muscle fibers after you wake up) and stretch it, the rubber band breaks. It’s important to warm up first. Other than that this morning routine I’m definitely implement drinking water to my routine!
