Mood Enhancement - The Beauty of Paragliding Off Poo Poo Point

Uploading two 11 plus minute videos would have seemed too much. I cut down the video to try and give an overall impression of the whole experience. This was my first time doing this. The winds were a bit stronger than usual which made for some great thermals enabling us to rise nearly 1500 feet above the launch point. This was a mood enhancement. If only medications for depression and anxiety had the same effect. This was part of a group event from a hiking group that I recently joined a couple weeks back.

I think this is my 5 or 6th hiking event in the past two weeks. I am supposedly doing two more over the next few days. There is even talk of getting a skydive event put together.

I would imagine they would have a lot of missing GoPros were it not for the stick being clipped on to one of my straps 😂

It can make some people quite nervous. They showed us some videos of prior customers freaking out during their flight. It's about as safe as skydiving if that helps any. 😄

Given the conditions this day, it was a little intense. It made for a longer flight too which was nice!

You are having magnificent life experiences. I commend you because I am afraid of heights and could not do this but this is awesome. What gorgeous sights.

It was a much more intense experience than anticipated. The winds and thermals took us much higher than usual for the time of day we went at.

Congrats for trying out a new exhilarating experience. It is good to try these things whilst you can. I ought to get involved more in these type of outdoor activities, although I am no way near any mountains or even hills.

Thanks! It was fun doing it with part of a group. One person had done it once before. For the rest of us it was our first time. It was cool because all six in my group were in the air at the same time. I may try and organize another paragliding group event over the summer months. There is a skydiving group event in the works!

This was excellent. It made me nervous the entire time. Would your landing have been smoother if you guys wore rollerblades? It would be cool if you and the other guy stay in touch and hang-out.

The average air time is usually 5 - 8 minutes. Due to wind conditions we were treated with over 20 minutes of it! We probably would have gone even higher had it not been for rain clouds that were fast approaching.

A long selfie stick that was clipped on to one of my straps so that in the event I accidently dropped it, it would not fall to the ground.
Donnelly i can't barely walk and not drop my phone...mine would have fallen first 60 seconds

@@CelesteAnise There are many options as far as outdoor activity. There are some popular hikes near Bellingham that I have yet to do.

Your welcome. It was a wonderful experience! It's been around two months now since I made that other video. I was in a very dark place at that time because of the excessive isolation from the pandemic and discouragement from having to drop from my master's in data science program due to the program being too far advanced for me and poorly structured. Something came within me and said that I should not wait until I establish a career to make friends. If I had continue to choose to isolate myself until reaching certain milestones, I would have only been driving myself to further isolation and darkness.
Is it really cold up in the air for so long?

That's why I had my windbreaker. I was going to go up in just a t-shirt but other members in my group convinced me to at least bring a windbreaker. I usually have a habit of under dressing in the cold weather.
