@@TFLnow You got it buddy!
LOL Ryan's eyes went wide when Andre was hustling it
BDS is definitely mall crawler suspension. Carli or Thuren with Kings should be the only thought. Just my two cents.
Andre’The Russian Flash’ Hardest working Man At TFL , Looking foward to you Arizona trip, Be Safe😊
Oh no it's got a little Carolina Squat.
Can’t wait to see this truck in TFL Bids!
White letters out, YES!!!!!!!!
I love this Cummins overland build
I hope I get the the chance to see you guys. I've been a fan for a long time now. I work near the town of Ajo, AZ, the western side of the Camino Del Diablo. I've been on CDD countless of times. If you have any questions about the current conditions of CDD, I would be happy to answer them. I've seen off road trucks stuck in the mud and the other day I heard a Greek tourist was attempting to make it in a Prius. I'm not sure if he made it.
The guy was scared hahaha.
I would've enjoyed putting the parts on this truck! Wheel and tires look awesome!
Great episode Andre! You are the only one on TFL that doesn’t make me want to punch the screen 😅

Andre, I love the Dodge build!!!Please tell me you’re doing something with the Russian bread loaf especially before taking it on that kind of a journey!!
Congratulations! Great Look! I look forward to seeing all the experiences you take.
Love the video and the truck Andre. Great job 👍

I just got an AluCab Khaya on my 3rd Gen Dodge Cummins! And Ryan is my friend!! Nice build!
What an upgrade!! Very impressive and beautiful truck!
I love your videos but I wait some days to watch it because I love the comments from the viewers too. Very useful feedback!!!
Awesome content as always
Love this series!!
Congratulations for this video, I especially liked it because now I have my first 2022 Ram 2500 diesel
Man that truck looks badass
A dream build. Take some of the comforts of home anywhere you want to go.
That is a sweet build.
Looks great!
The Ram is looking great Andre. Best thing you did to the Ram is get those crappy Firestones off the truck.
Nice build👍🏾
Interesting video, like the options you showed us and the price points, thanks, we all can’t afford the caddy package 😎👍
Looks and performs amazing 🤩
sweet build!!!
Truck looks great! I went with the Carli Back Country and no regrets.

I instantly thought carli or thuren, however, they did carli on the 7.3 I believe so likely wanted to switch it up
Seeing those fox shocks makes me wanna upgrade mine from the RC kit I have

great video Andre, good quality products from local companies to do the install, the only thing i am surprised at was there was or is no upgrade in rear end gear ratios or did i miss that in a previous video, it certainly does look like it will be fun testing it out on the upcoming trip along with the Buhanka should be allot of fun 👍😎

We did not touch the rear axle gearing. This is a Cummins with so much torque and power ! The engine has not noticed the wheel size change.
@marknicholson3755
Жыл бұрын
@@TFLtruck The speedometer will. You are right about the torque but the sweet spot for RPM is 1700-1800 max torque. Now you will be cruising at a much lower RPM.. I have a 2012 6.7 RAM with 295/70-17 on and no gear change, with a travel trailer I do feel the loss of power. To over come this I manually hold the gears longer to keep the RPM up longer before letting it change.
One sweet Truck!
Doubling the speed usually helps even if you don't change the suspension.
Beast 👍👍💪🏻💪🏻
It’s nice I’m more of an aev prospector xl fan but that’s a nice budget built
Put some lockers in the axles and it will climb anything it will clear.
That rear end needs a Thuren track bar kit (or equivalent). It will significantly reduce the rear end wag you'll get even more of now with the addition of the spring spacers. It raises up the axle side mount to bring the Panhard more parallel to the axle at rest. This reduces the lateral shift of the axle as it raises and lowers most notably at higher speeds. Best handling addition I made to my Power Wagon.

They put a BDS suspension on it. I don't think they really care about the ride quality. I'm sure BDS paid a good bit of money to sponsor this. Should have at least on Carli again
@villa9932
Жыл бұрын
Carli suspension is much better. Have it on my powerstroke.
I have Zone springs (manufactured by BDS) and they are way too stiff for off-road. If you look at how much thicker those BDS springs are over stock, you can already tell it’s going to be over-sprung. Carli or Thuren would be much better
The prospector xl is the best ram cummins overland we you can have
Put some lift springs stiffer suspension with 6112 Bilsteins switched out
Ryan makes the same faces I make when my wife drives 😂
Love to see y’all collab sometime with Wescott Designs in Phoenix
I think I will get that sit up for my 2023 tundra but I have to go and visit my sister in Colorado Springs. Then get in contact with juniper for the price so I can start saving up lol 😂 but I do like that option Andrea.
Nice video! I wonder what the overall weight increase is, just for the tire and suppension mods?
Turn those white walls in! Or bfg made you keep them out.
Great build! Did you get it aligned after you had the front and rear torn apart and put back together.
Like your cap do they make it for a gmc with a 5.8 foot bed that you can leave on the stock tailgate
How did you guys (what did you use) calibrate the speedometer/odometer for the larger tires? Calibration for tire size is something people forget about and/or don’t do. However, it is important.
They will hate those BFGs
The guy in the passenger seat reminds me of the stapler guy
Truck looks Fantastic. Thank goodness it doesn't have those horrible bro wheels & tires.
Any power loss with 37’s? Any plans to regear? What’s the MPG now with such a big tire?
Cool build! How off is the speedometer now, and will you guys get that addressed?
@Tallnerdyguy
Жыл бұрын
2 minutes to calibrate, very easy on fca products
I also have an externally mounted propane tank. Took it up to Rabbit Ears Pass last weekend. In the cold (sub 10 degrees), the propane wouldn’t gassify. We couldn’t use our heater. Any thoughts?
How does this fox suspension affect payload? I'm looking at upgrading my stock 2023 suspension on my tow rig. It comes with air ride, but I'd always like better components.
good
At 15:24 is the moment the passenger thought oh s***
Looks like the spring comparison may have been upside down.
Any reason you went with the K02 over the KM3 aside from the fact that they're the tried and true go to of the off-road tire market?
I just recently realized how similar Andre's voice is to Binkov . Not exactly the same mind you but if Binkov had a sore throat Andre could cover for Binkov in a pinch . You know what though I never see Andre and Binkov at the same time .
Should've gone with Carli or Thuren
Do you have a list of the items you put in? I have my first 2500 Diesel 2022.
You were suppose to modify the ZR2!
Are the increased angles of the driveshafts ok, or does the kit account for that?
@mails5054
Жыл бұрын
GENERALLY on small lifts youre fine, i have a 3 inch on my jeep and the only reason i got a new front driveshaft was i broke my stock one. Still have the stock rear
Andre, what are the specs on those wheels? I'm assuming 17x9, but what offset?
We want to keep the center of gravity low so we’re going to lift it 3”?
I didn't see any mention of an alignment after all of these changes? Was one done? If not, how is that possible with this level of change to all of the angles, etc.

The only thing that needs to be adjuster is caster and the steering wheel
I have a question for the people using adjustable shocks. How often do you actually change settings, or do some even set it once and leave it?
@RobbDzzz
Жыл бұрын
I adjust them when I need to, I spend time with the truck empty and have a setting for that, I add a rooftop tent and have a setting for that and sometimes I haul stuff and can find a setting for that. For the most part I don’t change settings regularly, you dial in to the ride/handling you want and leave it till there’s a need or desire to adjust. My preference is to run my low speed higher in the settings and my high speed in the lower middle settings (higher resistance to body roll, lower resistance to bumps).
@Rommer2258
Жыл бұрын
Adjustable shocks are all hype. Get a properly tuned shock and you're set. Or the electronic shocks Those things are pretty sweet but are extremely expensive
@RobbDzzz
Жыл бұрын
@@Rommer2258 I’ll agree and disagree at the same time. A properly tuned shock will make the biggest difference day in day out. A properly tuned adjustable shock will be even better (depending the use case). As I said in my comment above, my truck spends time unloaded so dialing out a bit of compression keeps the ride nice. When loaded down with all the camping/adventure gear it is a lot more prone to roll so dialing in a bit more compression keeps it riding pretty close to unloaded (as far as ride quality goes not ride height). Some times I’m ultra aggressive off road and being able to dial up compression high and low across the board will help keep me from bottoming too easily or harshly. But yes a properly tuned shock will do more for most.
@Rommer2258

@@RobbDzzz with a large enough shock with the right shim stack it'll work fine. I've got bypass 3.0s professionally tuned which you , they'll open it up and change the shim stack. Plus adjust the tubes on the outside It'll handle everything from towing a 5th wheel to rock crawling to 70 through the Mojave through 2' rollers. I agree with that much of a drastic change or a smaller shock it's beneficial. Especially for the price point
Dude looks scared to death on the test drive.
what is the mpg before and after ?????
Doesn't Ram already make a cheap PowerWagon option package for the base 2500?
@mikeob6410
Жыл бұрын
Not for the diesels. Gasser only.
@Rommer2258
Жыл бұрын
They still option it but it's not cheap anymore. A tradesman wagon is in the high 50s now. But it still has a significantly better payload then the loaded ones, you can get a 2000 pound payload still on a tradesman one where the regular wagon is in the 1200 pound capacity now
Peter that's a brutal cheap shot....BAHAHAHA
You better get a good transmission tune, bonded separator plate for the valve body or billet channel plate, strong accumulator plate, and a thermostatic bypass and bump the line pressure up to 225psi or that 68RFE is not going to stay happy very long.
A cost breakdown would be great now that it’s “finished”. It definitely needs a winch so have warn send you one for free. What exactly is the point of the series? To show what’s possible if you have no budget and want to build an overland rig?
Get ready to build the trans with it being on 37s. The 68rfe are junk
Kfc......KFC....... 🐔!
Disappointed TFL didn't do it right and go with a Carli Suspension 😕
Fender flares are not my style but good choice going with BDS and upgrading from 2.0 to 2.5 shocks. One critic is should go for fox ATS shock for stabilizer and add steering box stabilizer bar and if you want to get crazy add the kryptonite death grip steering kit
why not get a power wagon and put shocks on it instead.
but did you get your hand dirty
I can’t help but laugh. “BDS is using a rubber”. You know what BDS stands for? Big D*** Suspension.

BDS is the prime definition of not knowing good suspension but spending good suspension money.
So you made a tremor?
5k on suspension for bds

Mainly because they didn't put 7,000 lb behind the rear axle. Like all the trucks that bent frames
diesels aren't a good off road choice front ends are to heavy

They are specifically building an overland truck for camping and traveling long distances on high clearance required roads. That's literally the whole point of this. It's not like it doesn't say it right in the videos title.
@HoboJoeGarage

Wasn’t this suppose to be their “work/farm” truck. This turning everything into a overlander is getting quite boring. I’d rather see the truck outfitted with bumpers, winches, racks, etc to make it a capable work/ranch/farm truck that can be used for some off roading.
@canyonero2050

@Joseph Furey is agree. And honestly overland builds are mostly just about advertising all hipster truck gear. It's mostly unnecessary
Spend thousands on a bunch of weight when you coulda done the same thing with backpacking gear and a compact pickup.
