Honestly love the fact you guys didn't hide away the chirpiness between everybody at times. When you're out on a trip / adventure like that, nobody really knows what they're doing, and everybody is stressed out, people argue. But it strengthens the bond. That's real.

James says the spotter is responsible for the truck and where it's going, but who has to make the truck go where the spotter is telling you to go, zach said stop three times before james did, so it's his fault not Zachs.

@@Shardthackeray4562 Human reaction time is not that good, zach had to realize something was happening, begin alerting james, and then james had to realize what he was saying and apply his request. It happened so fast they really couldnt do much at that point

Gotta give props to Aaron, stayed positive in such high pressure situation, encouraged Nolan and got them throuhg that last bit without a winch.

High truck needs the tundra brake upgrade and the trd supercharger with the Underdog Racing development 7th injector kit. I have that exact ARB front bumper on my 03 taco and have no idea how they brokeit like that. something wasn't bolted correctly. there are like 8 grade 8 bolts going to the frame.

As a person who grew up doing stuff like this, despite wanting to yell at you guys sometimes, I very much appreciate the attention you have brought to 4Wheeling. A lot of people think it's just a bunch of guys tearing up and destroying public areas when in reality, it's a community that all works together to ensure the fun and safety of everyone involved. I know this is an older video and there have been a few off-road oriented videos since this came out, but I hope to see even more in the future. Thank you Donut for being the awesome group of people that you are!

Uh I'd make the argument that you described crawling, or trail riding. And yes they are a much more laid-back group... But quite a few of those mudding guys fit that exact stereotype you want to avoid.

Aaron is such an amazing spotter. From the buff horseshoe to this off-roading trail, he dragged low truck over the worst of obstacles.

I was thinking, this was probably one of the most sincere episodes I've seen from the crew. Lots of dealing with the situation at hand, tension, and perseverance. The payoff was tremendous to see they both made it, but not without it's fair share of struggle, which is completely relatable.

You shouldn't be getting stressed in these situations in the first place. That just simply shows inexperienced. The whole point of rock crawling is taking your vehicle up trails that weren't really designed for vehicle to traverse in the first place. So of course your going to get stuck sometimes and have to backup and try again. But when you start stressing out is when mistakes start to be made. It's ment to be a fun enjoyable experience, not a stressful one.

This is life man, a group of people exploring the earth while exploring themselves. It's truly worth the time and money spent.

I'm not an off-roader type, but if you guys are doing it, then I'm checking it out. This was absolutely my favorite episode! It makes me want to explore going somewhere I wouldn't normally go and adventure a bit. I loved seeing the honesty of friends getting annoyed with each other while working for the same goal. Kinda like a family...

The real hero of this season of HiLow is Teddy Roosevelt.

It's pretty high stakes and you can definitely understand getting mad if you think you have the way out and the other person doesn't agree

It's definitely the lack of oxygen at that altitude causing that. When I've been hiking at that altitude, even the best of friends will start getting short tempers with each other. When you're at that altitude you need to take 3 or 4 breaths to get the same amount of oxygen as just one at sea level. Add to that the steepness of the terrain and it can take a few minutes to walk just a few feet. It's a situation that can make even the coolest headed people frustrated, and in my experience it hits everyone a little differently. Major props to the guys for keeping themselves and their vehicles under control in those situations

I just got a “low truck” on Tuesday. Super excited. Will probably not do anything overland but nice to see it may be capable.

Wholesome content. I went from the "JDM" and "Euro" scene to off-roading/camping when I moved to WA 10 years ago. It reminds me of what the car scene was 20+ years ago. No one really cares what you got as long as you're having fun and not pissing anyone off or damaging someone else's property. A beat up old $2k Wrangler is just as cool as a $75k 4Runner to most people.

Can’t explain how intense and exciting the whole series has been for me. I’m not much of an auto or mechanical type of guy but watching the videos and having you explain even the simple and basic things while creating great content helps me learn and become more interested.

This was an absolutely epic episode. The military sent me to an off road driving school using stock Jeeps and I had a blast. These Toyotas were obviously built out a little better, but getting out to enjoy these land was the main point. Awesome stuff!!

I did not expect this series to end so beautifully.

This series literally made me want an overland vehicle. Can’t wait to do a build with my son and off-roading! Luckily he is only 2… so I have time haha

I agree with the guy who recommended the jeep, but honestly go with a 4runner or taco, they're more expensive outright, but they are stronger and way more reliable and cheap to maintain

For overlanding rigs, upgrading brakes is often overlooked. Stainless steel brake lines, fresh pads and even different rotors (depending on your preferences and rig setup) can reap dividends. Especially when trying to stop relatively quick(ly).

But why? Generally brake upgrades are so you can brake harder and more often without them overheating. Overlanders are either driving along on roads like a normal car or creeping along at slow speeds off road.

@@xToddmcx you need to upgrade the brakes regardless due to the heavier rolling resistance of the bigger tires and more weight on the vehicle with mods. Bigger calipers have more clamping force and every bit of clamp force and friction from the disc and pad material will make a difference in a towing, off road or just daily driving

@Water Jogger Stop on a dime? You're hardly moving. If your brakes can't stop from that the problem is you've probably blown past your GVWR and are unsafe anyway, cut some weight.

Been binging a ton of your videos since I recently discovered the channel and absolutely love everything you guys do. It's interesting though. The thing that has stood out the most to me is just what a good dude Aaron is. If everybody had a friend like that in their lives the world would be a better place.

@@tenorman24 I got my 2016 TRD OR about a year ago! If you have an automatic, I recommend the KDMaxx tune. More power and wayyyy better shift points. My only major gripe with 3rd gens. If you haven't joined already, the 3GT FB group can help you locate a tuner. Awesome people overall in that group.

I came from OV Tune 2.0 to KDMAxx after the 04A72 update not being compatible with OV yet and I think KD has them licked at the moment. Tune vs Stock is DAY and NIGHT difference no matter who you go with though. Congrats on the truck!

The finale showed that the line & driver/spotter skill is more important than throwing $ at the truck. Great series boys!

Beautiful, stressful, rewarding… insane quality content, miles above most TV car shows. Love these dudes!

Just saw this finale, love how all bases were covered and subjective in some aspects. I would love to see a stock offroad truck or SUV (Raptor/Rubicon/Defender) go head to head with your built trucks! 👍

27:04 i love when Aaron and Jobe argued over which path and how it should be done...showing that they really try to cover all the emotions during the journey, showing how they settle their differences, showing the real humanity in their crews when being under pressure, it is simply awesome. Most of the channel out there only show how their team get along with almost everything and like they never have a problem with each other.

@@realboyy2092 exactly, Jobe sounded like a dick by saying that...but that is humanity under pressure......they were already days out there, exhausted as fuck, not to mention the altitude where the air pressure is lower, also he was already stressed when spotting Pumphrey, and also was shocked by the bumper accident. He means no harm by saying that, he just tried to kept his bros safe but since he was exhausted, he said it kinda rude. There is a saying in my hometown "Put a human in a wild under great pressure and it would bring the true human inside him"

Great content! I've been working on my Toyota 4runner for a few months now. I do upgrades when possible & usually stick to factory parts when just doing maintenance; but still have done upgrades when it was better than original! Overall the build is very stout! Thank you all!

I recently got gifted a 2003 Ford Explorer v8 4x4, I know it's not the ideal TRUCK. But I definitely want to do some upgrades to have some offroad fun. (Not climbing rocks and such though)

@MinThisMoment hey don't get your hopes up on that explorer I have a 97 5.0 awd. I've gotten many places with this thing with only decent tires (im currently typing this while sitting on a mountain with a gorgeous view). A pair of 31x11.5in all terrains on the cheaper side about $900 brand new at discount tire. No other modifications done for handling or performance. I've brought this up many mountain trails and I can make it up just about all of them unless they are something tiny like a quad trail or rock crawling. Any standard logging trail you'll be golden. Also does pretty decent in sand. Just beware mud it's awful and ice. Dry snow is fine this was my daily for working at a ski lodge.

One of my favorite episodes yet. Great job guys.

Watching low truck crush hi truck on the wall climb was so satisfying, proving that the humble worker that can’t afford all the fancy over priced stuff can still hang with the big budget builds

I think hi truck was in 4 hi lol. There's no way it couldn't get up that in 4lo. The problem is that they're very inexperienced offroaders. I mean the guy was literally saying his locker was locked when it clearly wasn't. I watched the whole series and they honestly don't know much about off-roading

I'd prefer more performance oriented builds. I think a solid Hi low would be an LS swapped screamer or 4 banger power plant build. Find 2 eg civics or some. I don't feel motivated to work on my car watching this season as much. Made me want a truck and go camping but the performance they improved on didn't have much to do with the power train.

I think these are some of the best series hi/lo love them and hopefully you can receive more support and sponsorships to continue this. Love how you went from track cars to off road trucks. May some muscle/drag car now and then to a tow rig (f-250 or something like that)with additional tow accessories to compare.

This was my favorite series you guys have ever done..hope to see more of this in the future

Nolan needs to be high next season. I’d love to see James talk smack from the low side XD

When Nolan got up over the wall I got chills. What an amazing season

you guys did a great job here representing the 4x4 community... from the builds, to the testing, to the learning new skills, to the actual wheeling and meeting people on the trails. Awesome you all did this and got to experience it for yourselves
