As many car enthusiasts all started from the same place - inheriting their parents' car until they could buy their own, I'd love to see a series about typical/common mods you can make in order to make "grandma's old car" rad on a budget. Basically, you have 300 bucks and want to make grandma's car not suck, what do you do? Additionally, love to see the guys build a kit car from start to finish.

Should read the instructions (if any) to give them a fair chance. The shower gizmos water bag needs to be higher. It takes quite a bit of effort for the pump to push the water up from ground level. The winch actually surprised me though. Seemed to work quite well!

Yeah that thing is definitely gravity assisted, they even said 'hang it from your truck'
@ghostsmoke11
Жыл бұрын
That makes sense, if they used gravity as an ally instead of fighting it then it would have been way more effective. Though maybe if they had a disposable filter like a coffee filter or cheese cloth to run that dirty water through first it would probably lower the chance of it getting clogged as well.

Yeah, gravity is your friend when it comes to outdoor portable showers. Having gravity assist the water flow instead of requiring the pump to have to push the water "uphill" when the pump isn't very strong is just asking for frustration. You usually hang the water reservoir from a tree limb above head or shoulder level.

I got a harbor freight winch for about the same money, and I expected to warranty it pretty quickly, but it's been 3 years of hard use. And its still kicking butt. If it did die, harbor freight will swap it out any time.
The thing about cheap parts like these, is that they usually work alright the first few times but don’t last. Cheap tents last about a season and then need to be replaced. If it’s all you can afford, then don’t let that stop you from getting out but if you can afford better quality equipment, then you’ll wind up spending less over time since you won’t need to replace your gear as often.
@STRIKER520

Cheaper tents can be good if from a brand that sticks around. I don't know much about roof tents but plenty of good brand camping tents from companies like Naturehike. Even things like a winch the ones from Harbor freight have worked well for many.

Guys, be careful with where you attach the winch rope on the casualty vehicle! There is a lot of potential energy in that rope and the last thing you want is for the bullbar to let go or fail causing the rope with or without the bullbar attached flying back at the recovery vehicle. I'd seriously recommend putting in some words of safety with these sorts of videos given how many cowboys end up getting hit with improper recovery points that have come flying back at the recovery vehicle!

They’re using a synthetic rope with a damper over the line. If it lets go it’s not gonna have the same tension a wire rope will have. Also if it breaks with a wire rope it’s probably gonna break somewhere in the middle. That’s the biggest benefit of the rope

I have that Tacklife compressor, bought it in 2019 after I was stuck with a flat spare tire. I use it a few times a year to check pressures (especially when switching summers and winters). I've used it once to fill a flat back to decent pressure so I could get the car somewhere I could change the tire (small puncture). It is a great tool to have in your trunk in case of an emergency.

Quick tip! All 12v tire inflators and even the high end Milwaukee battery powered ones have a duty cycle of about 5 minutes run time then 5 minutes of cool down time. If you run them continuously over 5 minutes every time you use it you'll burn the compressor out prematurely.
