David's toilet is very clever. Fill the back bucket with kitty litter and you have a composting toilet. Urine ruins the composting action so the front hemibucket with the funnel is perfect for separation of wastes. We need plans for all of his projects.

@@WW-wf8tu Commercial composting toilets (Home Depot, etc) are over $1000. I suspect that David's is about $50 max. That's alot of $$ for what might be a slightly better smelling toilet with an exhaust fan. I don't see a great difference in ease of emptying.

Love the Buhanka project. And for this project or any other aging campers out there (including ground-tenters like me), get yourself a Milliard tri-folding mattress (and carry cover). Complete game changer--the memory foam is way better than pads, cots, or air mattresses. Nothing to blow up. Packs up easy.

Great video! But if it gets pretty cold, with the van not being well insulated I dont think that heater would last very long. If it’s a low wattage say 750watts, you will see less than 3 hours of heat. Unless I’m over thinking it? Chinese diesel heater(when working) would be a great idea but alittle more work.

Looks like you could have just backed in a little farther over and cable would reach, but be a little tight maybe. I see more problems for bigger vehicles like my Lightning. Probably only the side facing charger would reach me. Still, I am excited to see more orange charge stations popping up on the Tesla charging map already. Will make EA and the others up their game if they want to compete!

Goose Jerky?🤢 The cabinet color is WAY better than black. I like black but inside of a dark van needs lighter colors. I was going to say grey to match the outside, but that cabinet color is perfect! This is WAY more elaborate than my idea of a Budget Van Life. Air mattress, sleeping bag, (David's toilet solution beats Andres)some storage tubs for food/water and dry clothing. Done deal. OR gear is another matter all together.

I can see the romanticism in building a van like this if you have never been in one of them. But that thing on a modern highway is flat out dangerous. It is just so crappy. Yes it does well offroad but even there it is just so uncomfortable and poorly put together. It is just not a well built vehicle pretty much inline with anything built in the Soviet era.
