Annette's voice is gorgeous! Wow! Hearing her mother reading her letter at the end, really just tore me up inside. The strength she had to pursue justice & find Felix. She kept all of her pain & suffering inside, to fight for her daughter & the other women, before she'd allow herself to grieve. My heart goes out to her! ❤

I thought exactly the same thing but I am guessing they explained the blow to head as having maybe hit the side of the boat and the tangled scarf just a result of her struggling in the water. I even graduated early like she did. And like her I was in a very abusive relationship at a young age. Nothing my parents did could convince me that they knew best. And I had both my mother and father there to try to control my situation. My dad even going so far as putting bars on my window to keep me from sneaking out of the home. Where my story differed was my boyfriend was just a year older than I was so he didn't have the means to take me far away from my family to isolate me. Or he certainly would have.

Then she said she didn't know if he was a bad guy when her 16 year old daughter wanted to marry him... a 40 year old. That's not even mentioning her willingly walking out on her daughter AGAIN after she got her home and safe finally. When we turn into a teen, our brains are programmed to tell us not to listen to our parents and leave the nest. This is years of evolution to stop interbreeding. Go out, find another tribe. This is also why teens listen to their peers, partner this with a massive dopamine rush when trying new things it's all down to brain chemistry. Make sure there is a mentor they can relate to, somebody that gives sound advice. I did this with all my kids as I was that rebellious teen with nobody to guide me. Shouting never works neither does threats. Parenting does and the saying it takes a village to raise a child is true. Don't threat though, around the age of 23 they decide parents aren't so bad because brain chemistry evens out, then they don't see you as such an idiot!

Wasn't it kinda okay to beat your wife back then? To everyone judging the one mother for encouraging her daughter to go back to Felix who was clearly the father of her baby. Who would probably get custody of her son that he clearly resented... And the corner... If it's legal to beat your wife and your in the process of doing so and she "accidentally" falls off the boat and drowns..?? How many women have died like this and it been deemed an accident? I was listening to one of these docs just yesterday where a woman had defensive wounds that were clear to just about everyone other then the medical examiner who thought it was a heart attack. Never checked her for signs of s/a even though found half nude, didn't care the fire chief thought the small fire was fail arson and not a accidental lit cigarette....I don't think there is more crime now. I think we cotton onto it better, and have let so many biases go, partly because of the in your face evidence of DNA that has forced us to reevaluate how we look at crimes and mental health.

Depends on the mother. There are a lot of horrible mothers in the world whose abuse is just as strong as this mother’s love. We’re all individuals. Some fathers and mothers would do anything to protect their child, as they should. Some give their everything to love their offspring and help them become all that they can be. But other fathers and mothers are terrible parents, undeserving of the children they bore. They destroy them, break, damage, and abuse them. Some even kill them. Not all parents are the same. You shouldn’t make sweeping statements like the one that you made because they simply aren’t true. This mother is only proof that you can’t cover up, stop, or smother some mothers’ love. But other mothers don’t love their children at all. Just as some fathers love their children with every breath of their being, and some don’t. Being a mother doesn’t automatically make you an amazing parent, and people believing statements like yours are one of the reasons why children are often taken away from really good fathers and put with horrible mothers during custody battles. Mothers are favoured in these battles, and it’s partially because people believe that all mothers have an innate, nurturing, protective instinct, when that simply isn’t true.

For goodness sake man, if anything it's not as bad as it used to be. It was easier to get away with stuff back then due to minimal clues and information you could uncover throughout history. We know people were definitely worse back in the biblical days, for example, it was nothing for someone to get stoned to death in public streets, easily shot in western days, no one would listen when DV went on in the early to mid 20th century. In the 70s I heard about and saw A LOT of shit go down that definitely wouldn't be tolerated today! No sir we know it was worse up until today and it is easier to catch and prosecute today. The worst thing going on these days that's horribly bad is "INDIFFERENCE"!!! That is the worst from our law enforcement, DA's, judges, coroners, etc etc etc!!! We have ALWAYS been terrible just it's in a different way these days! Oh and to those who don't know what indifference means, Google it, it's a horrible, horrible thing!

As soon as he said 'greeted at the door by a 90 year old man in a wheel chair' I said to my partner he will pass very soon now he's given his whole truth and played his part and he did after 3 months. Survived 90 yrs on this planet and once his truth was told, the burden lifted and he passed away 3 months later. Perfect example of how we all have our roles to play.

These cases are so sad and so absurd! I really don’t understand why the mom accepted to let a stranger walk into her house and ask her to leave- I would have called the police right away to help get him out. Then, that judge and policemen who decided that the drowning of his first wife was an accident! How did she get a scarf in her mouth and around her neck, by accident? And the fbi folks who refused to look into these cases and only got interested when a book came out! This guy could have been behind bars way earlier, before he killed all those women!
