Thanks; just a small addition: the width of the "small hole" is 27 inches (69 cm) at the top according to the video; the 24 inches/61 cm are at the bottom. Furthermore, the height in the rear part of the trunk, behind the horizontal bar, appears to be around 20 inches (51 cm).

Was too lazy to go measure mine myself, this was very helpful haha

For sure! I'm surprised you consider the 3 to be so small though. It has a lot of storage space for a sedan of its size, but maybe you're comparing to other types of cars? Sounds like a Y or maybe even a used S would be a better fit for your needs.

Great video, thanks. I’m trying to figure out if I can turn my daughters wheelchair sideways and slid it in. With the wheels on it’s about 23.5” but with the wheels off(easy to do) it’s only about 16”. Do you know what the measurement is on the “mouth” of the trunk opening? It looks like there’s a little lip on the bottom. Thanks!

Great! But... missing on of the most critical measurements if you have the back seats down: the width of the opening when the seats are down. There's a little 'lip' that makes it more narrow than the 37" you had at the narrowest in the trunk. For example, what's the widest thing I can put in the trunk when the back seats are down and laying it from the edge of the trunk through that hole and laying on the folded down back seats? I'm thinking it's not as wide as 37". *sigh* I guess I'll have to go to the garage and actually measure mine LOL

For anyone looking at this and using the dimensions, double check the height in the middle of the trunk. There is a (1-inch?) bar there that cuts a few inches out of the trunk, so if you have something that would fill the whole trunk, you will need to put the back seats down to make ti fit.

What are the dimensions from one corner of the trunk closest to the bumper going diagonal to the opposite side of truck nearest back seat (caddy corner) for where I want to lay golf bag or portable tent, but still have 3 kids in back seat?

For the front to back measurement.... how long can it be if the front passenger seat is all the way forward and leaned forward/upright as much as possible? How far is it to the windshield?

It's critical to know how far back/forward your front seats are

Mine has a subwoofer in the right side and a pocket on the left. If I measure from the sub to the edge of the pocket it's 43". If the pocket is empty there's another 10" available there and I assume the same on the other side if there's no sub.

AAA found that 28% of the 2017 model year vehicles sold don't have spares, down from 36% from the 2015 model year vehicles sold. I wouldn't buy a vehicle that doesn't have either a spare or run-flat tires. Tesla should have put a donut spare into that small covered trunk compartment.

It's not clear if the 18" height is up to the cross-brace or to the ceiling above it. Can you clarify?

Is it possible to fit perhaps 78-79(200cm) inch table top with seats folded and pushed forward? Has anyone tried it?

These videos are so helpful, thank you very much for taking the time. With that said, I've actually Tweeted to Elon about whether or not there is / will be any way to carry bicycles via A) a roof rack option or B) a possible receiver hitch for accessories such as a hitch mounted bicycle carrier? I've re-Tweeted multiple times, but no acknowledgment whatsoever from Elon as of yet. The glass roof definitely doesn't have mounting points for roof mounted accessories like the Model S has (sunroof version only), so I'm guessing we're going to have to get creative. Would you happen to have a full suspension mountain bike (ok...ok, it doesn't have to be full suspension, but they do look cooler. ;-) ) that you could test fitment into the back of the Model 3 with the seats down? There will be a roof rack for the tesla. Just search "Model 3 Roof Rack Options" on the tesla motor club forum. Doesn't look like it's been officially announced, but people have found the hard points set up for it. Hope they also allow a hitch attachment, but I'm assuming that will only be after they work out a lot more of the self driving stuff.

can you remove a cover or insert in the trunk to accommodate a dog?

Not really. There is a small opening in the back deck with a screen over it to allow airflow into the trunk, but it's not made to open and probably isn't big enough to be helpful if it did.
