Cardinal's games feel empty without Molina behind the plate. Absolutely love that easy to piss off man. He went completely into compete mode once the game started & no one in an opposing jersey was his friend until the game/series was over. Loved that little hot head play.

2:18, I guess he doesn't need to stop on the plate. Awarded home due to obstruction.
In Smith vs Ozuna, Smith was not the first guy to get hit by his backswing. If it’s only one catcher, it’s the catcher but if multiple catchers are getting hit by the backswing, it’s on the hitter to adjust
@griffenberg
Ай бұрын
No it isn't, not getting hit by the backswing is entirely 100% on the catcher. Catchers setup in the front of the catchers box often going over the line out of the catchers box trying to get closer to the plate to frame pitches this is why we have seen a massive increase in catchers interfearence calls. it is the responsibility of the catcher to not get hit by the backswing as he has 2 some odd feet he can move back in the catchers box but he won't.

I played as a catcher for several years and got smacked in the head by bats few times, including one kid I went to school with who threw it backwards towards me (hit me in shoulder but not hard). I wouldn’t say we were friends but we were good term acquaintances by the time we were in high school. One day he and I were talking and out of the blue he apologized to my surprise. When asked him what about, he said “for purposely throwing bat at you”. I just laughed because that was years before and I had forgotten all about it. In hindsight though I have to wonder how many times it was intentional to hit me by the others 😋🤷♂️
I noticed there’s one thing these altercations all have in common…
Hello! where in the world is the John Roseboro vs Juan Marichal incident? In my mind it defines batter vs catcher incidents.

Yankees never talk 💩. 😂😂😂😂. I love baseball! Best game ever.
One obvious common denominator.
George Lombard needs to chill. Dude is a base coach inserting himself into every confrontation
Will Smith had been hit in the head by Osuna before. Smith was just coming back from a concussion injury, and Osuna hits him with his bat again. Osuna has a rep for doing that, so yeah, Smith was pissed and rightly so.
Puigs energy was unmatched. Missing from dodgers org these days
3:38 The umpire did an OUTSTANDING job diffusing the situation.
When I played the worst thing to me was the opposite players grabbing me to stop me. That is a sure fire 🔥 way to start the melee. I had no idea their intentions. My intention was made clear. They caught a couple for grabbing me. I am not saying I was right. In fact, looking back it was stupid. Nevertheless please grab your own player.
When this happens the umpire needs to stop the game, clear the stands. Then resume play at the umpires description.
Should be like hockey. If you leave bench to join in then you're out.
Statistically, Puig is in 50% of all baseball scuddles.
With bench clearing brawls, do the other players want to mix it up or are they trying to stop the fight? (I don't watch much baseball, in case it's not obvious 😊)
@notmyrealname1730

Carlos retired with no rings and Freddie is on his way to winning a couple more. Clearly freeman got the last laugh cause he’s on a contender now and Gómez isn’t even playing🤣 Edit: it’s perfect that he played for the Houston Asterisks

let me ask this question, please, because I am not aware of the decorum for this scenario, but....if there's a scuffle on the field and the players rush forward, what happens if a player DOESN'T jog out there and get in the mix? Puig. Epitome of having a million dollar talent and a five cent head.
I think it's funny when baseball players act tough. When they throw fists, it's always very clear, they don't have a clue how to fight.😂
Thing about baseball there’s a lot of strutting around but very few fists thrown
Meanwhile Banana Ball is exploding. Baseball has been taking itself way too serious for way too long.
You mean to tell me after all this time , to this day , Carlos Gomez never crossed the plate and it still counts as a home run ?
Get into it the instagater gets fined $1 million and outta play for rest of season maybe that might take the fight outta them. Have paid security come out . If benches clear from both teams each team gets fined $10 million.
Is that lebron james wanting a foul for getting a fly out? 😂

Mets & Yankees have the best uniforms in MLB.

What's the point of clearing the benches? It just creates an unnecessary crowd to control.
Can’t wait for baseball to incorporate the nhl’s fighting rule. These mlb players act like tough guys most of the times,and most of them are just weak. Let them fight! Let them blow some steam. It’ll make baseball even better. I mean! Since many rules have been changing,why not right???.most of the times benches and bullpen clears out for nothing.
Ozuna always does that
In these situations they are the catchers fault. Its like rear endings its 98% your fault. Don't get so damn close.

@jetwestbrook
Ай бұрын
Yes. But it was a home run. What are they going to do? Award Gomez home?
@Seemsayin
Ай бұрын
@@jetwestbrook Well... I'd imagine that the league has a rule for just that instance. The runner is entitled to have the base paths and the bases unblocked, after hitting a home run. If someone were to get in his way, and causing an event that would prevent him from doing so... I'm pretty sure the league would overlook an untouched base and award it to the runner. Could you imagine being able to force a runner out of the base path and off the field, whenever you felt like it? Now, that would be something to see. I think I'd pay to see that new rule change taking place. Albert Bell used to push the fielders out of his way, like a linebacker.
Puig is a P UN K always fronted and stepped up and shoved but never picked up his hands unless the entire team was with him. Keep watching.
God I love baseball!
Man I wish they could have let Jeff Banister and AJ Hinch go at it. Banny would have ended him.
Its funny to see the bullpens empty. Both groups run in side by side, the when tgey reach the scrum they oretend to face off. Like a pitcher, whose career depends on his hands, is going to throw a punch.
Lmao Carlos Gomez out there swinging at his own teammates trying to restrain him... that guy always seemed unbalanced and hot headed.
