Beltre is hands down oneof my all time favorite MLB players. one of the few that could take the game serious and still have a blast with his teammates.

It's safe cuz as you said the runner wasn't touched with the glove. In this case it needs to be tagged out since it was a stolen base and nobody was running to the first base

You have to strategize good times to run from your base, exactly how fast, if you want to run all the way, how to dodge defenders, and get there before the ball is thrown. There's more. You have to strategize good times to steal bases, and how far you should go. As the batter, you have to strategize where to hit the ball, if the ball is inside or outside so you know when and when not to hit the ball. You also have tactics, like sacrificing yourself. How you would do that? Well, if there was someone on third base, you could hit the ball to first, and as the third base runner runs to home, you're getting yourself out and giving them time to run and get the point. There is skill involved, which is why it's a pro sport. same as golf. You have time to stand around then, but strategy is involved. Why do you think people are so quiet during these games? The players are thinking, something you obviously can't do.
